I've seen a lot of spatter glass where the color was like these but the other day..... maybe on ebay, maybe on a glass site, I saw some pretty pastel ones.

Controlled bubble shell shape. Not sure if this fits the category, but I rediscovered a box of packed salts, and this was a beauty.

Debi, One thing that has always aggrivated me is cheap silver rims on beautiful glass. That makes no sense. I realize... afordable ...but it just wears off as that's a heavy spot for holding the salt. Much rather sterling.

Lynda, it does resemble Daum but it's not signed at all. Certainly was not priced as a Daum and it's probably the closest I will get to a real one. The red, white and blue spatter salt came from the same dealer as the alabaster (maybe) Steuben so I got a good deal on the two together. She was a well known high end show dealer who dealt in a lot of Tiffany, Steuben, etc. and she said it was a Steuben but I don't know because it isn't marked.

Debi, Your splatter glass is a different color than usual. Very festive. I like your frosted with purple trees. Reminds me of a Daum. 194, French salts sold my heart.

Another Kralik drape salt. I was bummed out when the rim would not accept the liquid silver. Thought I could make it gorgeous again but it's some cheap metal rim that lost the silver plating.

Another favorite, a gift from a woman I met in the charming little hamlet of Barnby in the Willows in England. My sister and I met her in the local pub at dinner, and she invited us to dinner at her home the following evening. I admired this salt and she gave it to me. I said oh no, couldn't take it and she insisted "Have it. I paid only a few pounds just because it is pretty and really have no use for it." So I took it. lol

Opalescence doesn't show much in the photo, but it's there.

Nancy V. Lolololol, when my tablet shut down and I thought it was dead, my mood went bad. I didn't have the desire to bother. I still have to get a new one before this dies again but I'm getting the urge to get some salts out of hiding.

Nancy V ,Awesome salts. Does anyone ever wonder what it takes to get all these beautiful colors.? That one unusual Steuben is so pretty. I look at Tiffany, Quezell(sp) and Lundbergs and am amazed at their beauty.
Linda H... beautiful salts. That Steuben is wonderful. And the glass in the holders.... make my mouth water.

Nancy V: I think you meant #29. I know which one with the brass rim you're talking about, but this glass is a different shape. The bulges on the melon shaped salts with the brass rims are rounded. The opalescent one in #29 has pointed edges even if it doesn't photograph like that. I have other views. Let me see if you can tell the shape better on a different picture.

One last example of opalescence. You may have to look closely to see it, but there is opalescence in the vaseline foot of this odd piece, toothpick or vase? It's in Dave Peterson's book on vaseline glass, but without the opalescence. He once told me he wanted this piece if I even decided to sell. I think he lost most of his interest in vaseline glass after that time.
