Hi Debi, not sure which ones you are missing, but unless you want variations of the Daums, I do not think I can help with this page. I have sold all of my Monots and Tiffanys. I can probably help on the next group/page.

Maybe I'm missing a connection, but what is Susie P's wisteria piece? It doesn't match anything on this H&J page, does it? I have the same shape in a red called Carmen I think, always thought it was a nut dish though the size is good for a salt too. I knew but can't at the moment recall maker.

Debi, Transferring them to CDs is a brilliant idea. As soon as this crazy virus calms down a bit in our area I'll take them to are local "Geek Squad". Also, when I get some time I'm going to check into getting Corel Paint Shop Pro Ultimate 2020. And I will definitely take you up on your offer to walk me through the features you use. Still have a lot of planting, weeding and mulching to do and the weather forecast for the next five days is going to be perfect for gardening. Thanks again for all your help!

Lynda, You are so funny sometimes...thanks for the laugh!!

Joan: I just thought of something you might be able to do to recover the images on those large capacity memory cards. If you have a neighborhood computer shop, take your cards to them and ask to have them put on a CD. You shouldn't have any problem with a CD in your laptop. Then if you want to, you can just use the CD to save images (works the same transferring to a CD as it does to a memory card) or transfer to just 8 MB cards. But one or two CDs compared to lots of small memory cards - I'd pick the CDs.

Joan, I am pretty sure you can try Paint Shop Pro free for 30 days before buying. I don't use all the features like replacing backgrounds or cutting people out of pictures but it's a good program for editing pictures of salts and the clothing I do for Larry for his eBay store. If you want to download it and try it out, I can help you in identifying and using the features I use most. The entire name of what I have is Corel Paint Shop Pro Ultimate 2020.

About your memory cards, it doesn't make sense to keep making the cards be able to hold more and more information if you can't download it to a laptop. I have to admit I've never had more than a couple hundred images at a time on my cards so don't know how it might handle a card that might have thousands of pictures.

Debi, You are absolutely right. It's my computer and not my photo program and I didn't explain correctly what is happening. As soon as I insert a memory card into the memory card slot on my computer it starts to load/run the data automatically. I don't do anything and it just runs by itself. After reading a certain amount of data it locks up. No pictures ever appear anywhere. Just a screen that shows the numbers of data points (in this case pictures) being read and increasing. When it gets to a high number of data points/pictures it locks up. You are right and I'm associating it with my photo program and it's not, it's my computer itself because when I insert a card with a lesser amount of pictures/data it works exactly like you said. It loads the pictures and I can pick and choose which ones I want to import. I don't like to keep a lot of pictures on my computer and I delete them when I sell them. But keep them on memory cards for future reference. I never delete any from the memory cards themselves. My other computers never locked up...I would just insert the card, the pictures would come up on the screen, and I would import any I wanted to go to my photo program and save it there. I still hate this photo program so thanks for the info on Paint Shop Pro and I'll look into purchasing it.

Finding credible documentation on the Two Panel reminds me of when we discovered that H&J 368 was actually Fostoria and not Cambridge. Salts that we have associated with certain companies for so many years, through research or just dumb luck, are still turning up to be made by someone else. Do you have a copy of the actual catalog page to add to the King and Sons catalog reference page? That reminds me...I have to tell Susie that Cambridge's individual nut cup (H&J 411) was made in Wisteria. She found a set of them and I questioned if they were just sun-purple versions of their clear, because I never found documentation that Cambridge made them in Wisteria. Well...I found documentation in one of my old Cambridge reference books, when I was looking for something else, that they did if fact make them in Wisteria...dumb luck. So I owe Susie an apology.

Joan: I use Paint Shop Pro by Corel for my picture editing. Always have. What I don't understand is that your picture editing program shouldn't have anything to do with inserting a memory card and opening it. You should be able to just drag the pictures into your pictures folder without ever opening up any pictures. When you insert the memory card you should have a choice what to do. I drag the folder to my desktop and then delete it from the memory card so it's empty when I use it again.

I don't know what it is Debi, but I had three other HP laptops and never had a problem with their photo programs recognizing large amounts of photos from memory cards. Had no problem transferring my word doc files from flash drive memory sticks. So I still think it's a glitch in the photo program. The program starts to run, recognizes about 2500 pictures, and then locks up so you can't import "anything" from that memory card. I've loaded and imported smaller amounts of photos off of my other memory cards, so it seems like this photo program was not built to acknowledging large amounts at once. Will have to go back to using 8GB cards. I'll have to look into getting another photo program anyway because in additional to the loading problem it's also very cumbersome to use. Too many different steps in order to size, straighten, brighten, enhance, etc. pictures...very frustrating. What do you use?

Interesting, Debi. I've had Two Panel in several colors but let them all go. I made a decision years ago not to get deeply into pattern glass--too many to keep abreast of and too much confusion about old makers. Went with art glass instead. That was probably the coward's way out, but I collected what I enjoyed looking at, and old clear glass patterns weren't that. I always deleted pictures when I sold too, probably not smart from a research standpoint.

For those of you who do research and keep track of makers, etc., I just found out something new yesterday. The salt we all knew as TWO PANEL made by Richards & Hartley was really made by King and Sons. They have found old King catalog images of the pattern so there's documented proof now. I have changed the information pages for H&J 328, 531 and 554 to reflect the new information.

Thanks Joan. I appreciate it. If it gets too frustrating just forget it. I'm sure another may come along eventually. I found the one picture online but no others were with it. You shouldn't have a problem with your pictures if you have them on memory cards. I transferred all of my pictures using an external hard drive but the concept is the same. I copied them onto the hard drive, then plugged it into my new laptop, selected one folder at a time and copied them to the new laptop.

Debi, I have pictures of #6 - I just need to find them. I sold it many years ago, but I keep all of the pictures of my sold salts on 8,16 & 32GB SDHC memory cards. Unfortunately it may take me a while to find them. I recently purchased a new laptop and it has a terrible photo program and because there are over 4000 pictures on many of my memory cards, the program will not read/load that much data and locks up. So I will need to crank up my old laptop, load the pictures and try to find them. If I'm successful and find them I'll need to update my virus protection and any Microsoft updates on the old laptop before I would take a chance to send them to you. I usually take at least 10-15 pictures of every salt so I can provide numerous views when I list them on eBay. I started selling in 2007 and have sold well over 2000 salts - I'm sure you can do the math. Wish me luck!!!

Took a look at that page. I am shocked at the success, the beauty and major awesomeness. It is sooooo beautiful.
Are you interested in inserting individual pictures of these steubens?
My opinion with the Daums, great idea to get as many different carved panels showing. They are so beautiful and to see so many picture scenes is a delight.
Sorry, my brain keeps coming up with questions. How bout multiple diff pics of the Milli?

Lynda: I would say both of those are like H&J 1. H&J 4 is a shorter pot with a rounded bottom where #1 is more elongated. Looks like both of yours have sides too, not completely round. BTW, I did put your windmill on that page. Not enough room on one page for all the transparent colors. I do have a picture of a blue iridescent one I might try to squeeze in with #13. I had a marathon session getting that page up yesterday and am taking a break today.

Lynda: I have reworked #1 and #4. I think my salt looks like #1 and Judy's is like #4. Judy's salt looks more rounded to me from the pictures. As I said we won't have the exact salts pictured. We just have to do our best. As far as posting salt not in H&J, I'd hold off on that for now. I will have to start working on the square salt H&J page now and don't to confuse or lose any pictures.

Judy: Meant to ask before...I have never heard of #4 referred to as ASCOT. Do you have a book on Tiffany?

Debi and Judy, your (debi) Post #139 below, I've looked at it and looked at it. It has an extended base where the feet are attached. I don't see that on salt H/J #1 or #4. Some days my eyes are good and some days my eyes are bad. Today is a good day. Baring that, #139 is a very nice unique salt.
Debi are you still putting salts in the "not in H/J pages" section. I have a lot of these type salts not in H/J and your #139 would fit.?

I just completed putting up on the website what I have so far for H&J 1-34. If there's any corrections to be made please let me know. We still need 2, 6, 14, 15, 21, 26, 28, 29 and 32. #32 is a larger bowl compared to 10 and 11 but when I see pictures online they don't always come with measurements.

Judy: I think I have a blue transparent color with the mark. Much easier to see on a color. I don't have any calcite ones.

On your H&J 4, is the pot round or does it have sides to it? Looks pretty round to me but mine has definite sides to it, 6 of them. I think mine is H&J 1 with the longer pot, or are 1 and 4 the same just with hand made differences?

Judy, does your H&J 34 have the etched fleur-de-lis mark on it? I think I might see it a bit. Hard to see unless it held at the right angle in light.

I ran across an interesting picture and bit of info while searching for salts yesterday. The Tiffany salt above says the iridescence was only applied to the inside. Then it got me wondering if the Steuben calcite was also the natural white glass with the iridescence only applied to the inside. I couldn't find any verification of this online but maybe someone knows.

#27 is on my wish list, the 3 or 4 color Webb cameo. I saw one in a shop in London's Camden Passage and thought I'd never seen a more beautiful salt. I saw a larger version in a shop in England for $300 or $400, wished later I'd bought it even though it was too large to be a salt.

Someone has a Cameo glass, maybe Nancy V or Janelle - where is Janelle lately anyway? Someone has handled millefiori too. We are not going to be exact, but we can get close. I could swear I just saw 28 somewhere lately too.

I got the photo box to make my pictures better but I think my tablet just does not have the abilities Judy's setup has. Now Debi can work magic with a picture. She has a program that does wonders.

Great pictures Susie but could you also do a complete profile of each? One of a side view that shows very little to none of the inside. That's generally the picture I need for the web page to click on. It shows the shape the best. And yes, I'll take any of the other Monot Stumpf pictures you have. That round one with ruffled top might be H&J 24 but I can't tell without a profile view.

Susie: Your pictures are fine. Could you do a couple more views of the pigtail salt? Yours looks like it has more of the blue tones like H&J 17 but I could be wrong. Once I edit the pictures I'll be able to tell. Thanks for adding pictures. If you have more please add them.

Susie: When it tells you it's a duplicate posting, it means you've used the exact words, probably something like "Bottom view". I think this is probably just in the same posting session, and obviously not for all time, forever and ever. LOL So maybe if you type in the salt name, like Daum bottom view instead of just bottom view, it will work.
