Nope, then the title does not match what is included and I can't change the title. When I go back to find something I know was posted it makes it impossible to find if it is different from the title. I know I have caved in the past but maybe we can just chill for the next week if no one has any more red or cranberry. Take the time to think up a good new topic suggestion for next month, and of course, have a very Merry Christmas.

No I don't Lynda. You would almost need to have before and after pictures judge improvement. I found a liquid silver plating most effective on the silver plated stands for art glass salts where the silver on the flat surfaces was worn. Debi introduced me to one brand, Alexander Hamilton House Silver Secret Platter. I googled it and found the polish available but the plating liquid all sold out. There are several different makers on the market. If you just google "silver platter" you get lots of large silver platters, spelled the same as something for plating. so hunt for silver plating liquid . They aren't very expensive, around $20 a bottle, so it might not hurt to give it a try if you see some. Amazon carries several brands.

The silver restoration only works on EPNS, brass and copper. It will not bind with pot metal without a precious metal like nickel in the mix. So if it isn't marked EPNS I would not bother trying. I was so disappointed with a couple salts I planned to restore. Didn't work so they still look like crap.

Lynda, there is a bottled silver you can apply to rims that have lost their silver. It doesn't look like new, but it does add a layer of silver back on the surface. I got the information from Debi years ago. I have plumbers working in my kitchen now, but later I'll get my bottle out and tell what the name is.

Wow, Christmas is certainly here. The pretties are wonderful. Soooo many beauties. I dream of a city called "Salt City Plus." SCP for short. All of us move there. Can't come if you don't have a collection. 2+ or more. We all put our salts in City Hall. Which ends up the size of the Pentagon. From there we can eat, drink, look, talk and research to our hearts content. Touching over a foam bed. Lolo Edited 12-16-2020 04:48 PM

Here's aa Moser bowl of the type and size I was wondering about. I see a red cut to clear on ebay as well but different design cut to clear. The designs of these current Mosers are different in style from the bowl on 191. I doubt that there is actually strong similarity to 191. It would be great to have more information about the relationship of the bowl to the pedestal base. Edited 12-16-2020 03:14 PM

Pretty, pretty, pretty, Susie P and P.J.
P.J. I think your 174 may be a Lotton, (sp?) similar to one made for a convention.
Does everyone have a salt like the middle one in Susie's 183, round cut-to-clear in red? I know this is at least the 3rd shown here including one of mine.
I love the clear pedestal with cut to clear bowl. I don't think I've seen one like it before.

Linda, I think your #139 is copper. I had one exactly like it that had a label inside that said it was copper and the place it was mined or made or whatever. Don't remember exactly what it said now. Long time ago but Colorado comes to mind. It would probably clean up beautifully. It's shown as H&J 874 but described as being a chrome frame, and probably an import. Another description error but without the label it was just a guess.

Debi, I like all 3 of your salts. The one you got from Joan is different. Never saw that one before. I believe I have the Kralik in green. I think this salt has been shown. It has nice bold enameling.

Debi, love the Murano from Italy. I have a special love for those enameled types of salts. Jan, very pretty. I only learned about Coraline decorations about 6 months ago. I'm an old lady still learning. Your stripies is a Fritz. They have a site you can go to and get others. They do very nice work. A little art glass cranberry to show.
