Nancy V, I should have had a penny to show the size. It's small induvidual, around 1 1/2" square. But I know what you mean about those piano Castors. Love them.

That's one hunk! Reminds me of the piano casters sometimes mistaken for salts. Just in color and substantial look, not shape or opening. I have a blue piano castor I love, bought it off an outdoor table at an antiques fair in England labeled "salt." I'd seen them in antiques shops correctly identified. Pass the salt would have a whole new meaning if you had one of those babies on the table.

Thanks for the explanation, Debi. I also think the salt is English, such typical flow blue. I bought some flow blue plates on trips to England. I wish I had been collecting salts on my earliest European trips. I can still see in my mind's eye a tray of salts in an Austrian antique shop. I looked but went off and left them.

Thank you Don, Flowblue. Very cool name. Debi, it probably is English. All I know is I like it very much.

Nancy V, It's just a clear sticker with black printing. The salt looks English to me and I have several with just a hand painted number on them. It's either a design number or maybe the artist's number instead of initials. The numbered ones I have are usually 4 digits.

Can anyone make out the flow blue mark on the base? I suppose the Berg Collection label was stamped on bases of their salts.

That's an unusual one, Debi. I have a large one in this shape, rose colored and beautifully engraved all over. I've seen some with a cut at the bottom of the opening to lay a cigarette, but without that, I call mine a master salt.

I have one of those polka dotted cut to clear but it is a round one. One of those with the opening off center like a salt pig. It's small though, maybe not individual size but not a big master either.

Debi, you are famous for your Cobalts. These are some of the most beautiful I have seen. The Heisey is stunning in it's simplicity. But the silver overlay with the spoon. That one spoke to me. Cobalt topic is turning out to be pretty great.
These wheelbarrows drive me crazy. I think most of them out there are reproductions. I don't know how long ago Joe St Clair made his. I'd love an original.

Debi, your cobalts are just gorgious. You think that one is a toy? Could be. H/J said French Lacy but toy is fine by me. I have it in white also. With some gold on it. I have the plain, what I thought was Hadeland. I'll need to check the base.
Nancy V, I don't own a Meissen. I do admire their beauty. Nancy, I don't have many colored Lacy's. Nothing like Mary or Jytte. Here are 2 I have.

Lynda, I think #39 is a toy compote. It might look a bit like a Lacy but I don't think it is. I have one too. I think I bought it from Nancy V. The one on the left is by Walther of Germany and middle is probably Irish c.1790s.

Three pieces I can't reach in my cabinet. Front left is Tattau, one beside it a familiar little salt.

Transfer ware pedestal, probably a piece from a child's set but right for a salt too.

That's a pretty set too Debi. I believe I have tgat salt. Why did they break up set or do you think some extra salts were made without the peppers and mustards?
