I chose "Laughing at my Nightmare" by Shane Burcaw. There are 248 pages and I've read to page 58. The book is a story about Shane and his life being stuck in a wheelchair permanently. He turns the sad into comedy. He has faced his major problem since he was two when he was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. This disease will eventually kill him but he makes the most out of the life he has by making it comedic. He's now 25 and still going strong. There is no cure but they say that laughter is the best medicine. He strongly believes in this and it shows in his novel.

I am reading branded by the pink triangle it is 122pg
it is about homosexuals in the holocaust
my book is about gay men in the holocaust and their struggles in Germany. I have learned from this book that being homosexual in Germany was the best place because the laws were rarely enforced so they could be themselves easier. I didn't know much prior to this book either other than that being gay in any part of the world was hard.

I chose Gitchie Girl by Phil Hamman and Sandy Hamman. There is a total of 154 pages and I have read to page 53. The book is about a girl named Sandra, and she ends up being the only survivor out of five kids to survive a mass murder. The murders take place at Gitchie Manitou state park and she tells her story.
4. The constructing knowledge for my book is murder. I already know that murders happen all the time and for the people that are experiencing them, go through rough time after. I also know that while these are happening she is going through a rough time because she is having to witness her friends and her get shot at. I have learned not to go into the woods with a bunch of teenagers, late at night. I also learned that murderers are not good people at all because in the book the guys that commit the crime say they are cops and the kids believe them and that is part of the reason they all get shot at.

It's of all the people that have in packed you or the people that love you. One thing I also learned is that you aren't younger in Heaven, you get to pick what age you want to be.

1. I am reading Sold by Zana Muhsen. There are 274 pages in the whole entire book and I stopped reading at page 3, last.
2. The book is about Zana and her sister Nadia, they lived in Birmingham but were then sent to Yemen by their father. What they didn't know was their dad set them up to be in arranged marriages and we're eventually living in modern slavery.
3. Sold is about modern day slavery in Asia, more specifically Yemen. Their father put them in an arranged marriage. Their husbands eventually started abusing them and they became slaves. I know this is allowed because of their religious beliefs. That They can marry multiple wives and wives are seen more as a object than a fellow human being at some points. They would trade wives or daughters for property and money.

I am reading A Star for All Seasons by John Devaney.I have read 27 pages. This book is about Vincent "Boar" Jackson and how he is a legendary figure. This starts off in his childhood and shows how he and his gang were not so nice to their community. Bo first started by leading his gang up a hill to find windows to break. They then found a group of caged pigs and threw rocks until a man shot a gun, the gang took off running. Boar then tried out for the middle school track team as a third grader and finished first by a great margin. Boars' mother made him join the neighborhood little league baseball team but he was too good to play against them so he played with 15 year olds. Boar began to turn around and had a dream to go to college but his parents didn't have the money. The owner of the dead pigs offered Boar a deal, if Boar payed back the three thousand dollars then he wouldn't call the police. Boar raised the money bit by bit to pay back the man in six months.

I chose the book "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell. I have read 35 pages. In this book Malcolm Gladwell explores psychological processes of intuition and instinct. He examines how we make split second decisions and judgments that are both good and bad, and how the ability that makes us more likely to accurately read a dangerous situation or an ill person is the same ability that makes us unconsciously racist, sexist, or otherwise prejudiced, even if we consciously espouse other views. The book argues for a appreciation of judgments based on less information on expert intuition or instinct rather than the less seasoned judgments of the novice.

For fourteen years he was moved in and out of institutions. In 2001 he learned to communicate via computer. In 2008 he met his future wife Joanna, and immigrated to the UK. In 2009 he married Joanna.
