I've got some other pictures to get in before we change themes, but after seeing Joan's collection, they seem "insignificant"!! WOW, what a "bunch of BEAUTIES"!! Will try this afternoon.

Joan, what's your ebay name. I'm betting I've watched your intaglios with major desire. If I knew they were yours, I probably would have bid. Knowing where they come from is important too. Thank you Joan.

Nancy & Lynda, I was selling them on eBay over the past couple of years. Would list one or two a month. Need to get back to it...when and if I can ever find the time! Will give you a heads-up Lynda if I start selling again.

Moving at our age is no easy task. You've heard me talk about coming back to Fl from Indiana. 6 below zero and we'Re packing the truck. Boxes were still being packed inside. Had to leave a lot of stuff as U Haul didn't hold everything. I try to not say never again but I sure don't want to move again. Course a lot less hard to move down the street. Which I may consider to get into a house and be able to get all my salts unpacked.

Yeah - but we're still working on the living room and have all the other rooms to do. Now we find out the movers we hired DO NOT have a truck! They just load and unload. We're going to have to rent a UHaul. Fortunately our neighbor downstairs was a long distance truck driver. He said he would go with us to rent one and drive it for us. I'm going to kill myself soon!

These are all stunning. Had no idea there were so many I'd never seen before. Hey Jane, do you still have that car shaped one? Must post it if you do.

Susie, I don't think your green holder had more than the cover. I think it's a cigarette holder and individual ashtray. Regular square intaglios don't stack anyway, do they?

Susie P, thank you for the other pictures of that lovely green intaglio. I can see where the cigs would go. Maybe more intaglios stacked on top with in each other?

Joan, I don't even have words. I've never seen such fantastic peices. Don has amazing peices too. I am so impressed with how nice your brass looks. Perfectly beautiful with stones. I can't imagine selling any. Thank you for sharing. If I may say and not seem rude, I would dearly love to buy one a month from you. Name your price.

Susie, You "snuck in" some BEAUTIES, while I was "pecking out" my message. I'm amazed at all the uses Intaglios must have been used for. Can't figure out what #119 was sold as, but I'm sure that #121 held cigarettes with ash trays.

Thanks "gals"! I consider myself "very lucky" to have a "photogenic memory"!! I now as soon as I see one that I've never seen before(how else could I have collected around 10,000 open salts, when I DON'T KEEP duplicates!) I also consider myself fortunate that I've never spent a "fortune" on the things I find(I guess I'm a "cheapskate", because I DON'T HAVE a FORTUNE to spend!)

Don, I am so non tech. The grand babies help me with stuff. It has to be easy for me or it is a no go. I had a computer with the big box hard drive, mouse, keyboard and all that. It was too hard to take pictures, figure how to download and then send. I gave up. I got a Samsung tablet. Salt life and sharing became easy. My tablet takes the pic, downloads it, stores it and I can pull from my gallery anytime I want. I really do understand your struggle. I am, as are many, dieing to see any of your collection. Good luck with the pics. We will try, lolololol, to be patient.

Aaah Little Sis, I taught you well in our younger years. Now if I can only get my cabinets back...
They are beautiful but would not have expected anything else.

Figured Judy would astonish us, and Nancy D you got some pretties too. As always Lynda, I bevy of beauties.

Guess I should see what I have pictures of to post, and we are all waiting for Jane to be well enough to show us her beauties. I have already bought a case of water to replenish lost drool.

I have that Wright's silver polish in a jar. It sort of hardens over years but when you wet the sponge that comes with it and apply to the cream it works again just fine. I have also used a toothbrush on the little bit of silver I have. Will have to do a before and picture for the webpage, unless someone already has two good before and after pictures. I would just try to avoid rubbing or scrubbing directly on the glued in stones. The ones with prongs wouldn't be affected. Gentle rubbing won't move them.

I just looked at the Michael's website and things sure have changed. They have tons of flat backside gems on strips of paper for decorating books, phones and for scrap-booking now. The bags of gems are huge (100s per bag) and now cost $15-17. But you can get the traditional type with a pointed end to glue in and the flat cabochon type too.

Joan, Nicely displayed. You have a beautiful home.
Checked my brass cleaner.... it's Brasso. Used it, it worked ok. I have bumble fingers with this arthritis but holder looks better.
Right now very frustrated. Had a set of 10 or 12 intaglio placeholders. Had them out on Buffet but put them away somewhere. Now can't find them. Making me crazy.

In answer to Debi’s question, I use Wright’s Brass Cleaner. It’s a white liquid and I just pour a little on the brass holder and use a microfiber cloth and also a soft tooth brush to get into any nooks and crannies. Comes up sparkling clean and it is completely safe on all rhinestones, pearls or semi-precious stones. I get it from my local supermarket.

Here’s one of my wall cabinets with some of my intaglios in jeweled holder, along with some intaglio place card holders like Jane’s and Nancy’s. Will take individual pictures of more of my collection and post later this week.

Lynda: You can buy a bag of multicolored rhinestones at Michael's or any other craft store for a couple bucks if you want to replace missing ones. Joan has all her holders cleaned wonderfully and if she would graciously retell us how that is done and what she uses I promise to add it to the odds and ends page so it will always be there.

Ooh, that's pretty, Debi! Of course it's blue.

Since I'm not much into metal except for art glass salts in stands, I've sold any intaglios in stands I acquired. However, (off topic warning!) I have a few of these intaglio card holders that aren't attached to salts. My sister has a large collection and has given me these. Only the one at front center is jeweled. You may recognize some of the intaglio designs. The one at the back didn't photograph clearly but is a mythological design.

I've always thought it was odd that the palce card holder has a formal scene, but the salt dish has an elk; a more rustic scene. They just don't seem to go together.

Debi I don't have a large number of intaglios with holders. I don't think enameling is common on the holders. I pulled this one out of it's drawer to check the holder on it.
