I am reading One Child by Mei Fong. This book contains 217 pages, and today I stopped on page 10. This book is about China’s One Child policy. This topic is covering China’s most radical experiment. The One Child policy is something I’ve hear of, however not anything I hold extensive knowledge of. This far, I’ve found out that this policy was brought upon families by the government. Due to this policy, China entered a generation work force gap. This is what I’ve read so far! This book has turned out to be incredibly interesting!

The book I am reading is I Beat the Odds by Michael Oher. I just finished reading to chapter 18.

2. Michael is living in the ghetto with his mom and siblings. He keeps being taken away by Child Services because his mom is abusing drugs. Michael's basketball coach took him in and he stayed with them for awhile. He started doing better in school and then was able to play football. Michael used to sell newspapers as a little kid and used his earnings to buy food and one day he was robbed.

I read "I am Nujood, age 10 and divorced", there are 176 and I am done with my book.

2. Describe at least 1 major problem or challenge your main character has faced so far in the book and talk about how the character worked to solve it or is working to solve it. Answer in 5 sentences.
The major issue my character has to overcome is the abuse she is receiving from her husband. She is ten years old and her father was afraid that a man would come and steal Nujood so he married her off. Her husband was told to swear he wouldn't touch her until a year after her first period. Not surprisingly he lied, raping and abusing her into submission. Nujood knew that she could not survive much longer. After a few months she got the courage to runaway to the court house and file for divorce.

I am reading A Stolen Life: A Memoir by Jaycee Dugard. It has 273 pages and I stopped on 55.
#1 Jaycee woke up early in the morning in June to go to school. Her mom forgot to kiss her goodbye, but it was ok. Jaycee thought she would see her mom that night. Jaycee knew that she would have to get up and get ready soon, otherwise her step dad would yell at her. She felt like he never liked her anyways. She was hoping that the neighbor dog would walk up the hill with her, but he wasn't there that day. She started up the hill for school, which she always walked alone after the move from Anaheim to Tahoe. As she is crossing over at the top of the hill, a strange man stops to ask for directions. Before she knows it, Jaycee is being kidnapped. When the stop, the man takes her into his house and shows her a stun gun. He told her he would use it if she ever tried to runaway.

One of the major problems he faced is getting through SEAL school while so many other people failed. He got through because he was strong willed and had a rough childhood that prepared him.

I am reading Three Little Words. It has 297 pages and I stopped on page 37.

So far in the book Ashley and her brother have been taken from their mother. This was because her moms boyfriend brought bad things to the household. She has already been through 4 foster parents and her mother is not allowed to get them back until she can provide for a good environment for the children. Ashley has been separated from her brother multiple times. She wonders why the parents never like her and why she is being taken from her. She doesn't really have a way that she can fix this because it is what her mom does not her.

I am reading Navy Seal Dogs by Mike Ritland. There are 180 pages and i am on pg 100.

2) In my book the main character trains dogs for the military. With him training dogs there are many challenges. Some of them are getting the dogs ready for the navy seals. To train a dog for the navy seal there are a lot of things that are required. If he puts hours and hours into a dog it had to be worth it. They will do a test at the end of the training to see if the dog is ready for the military. If not they have to just give up on the dog or try to fix what is wrong with it. With all the things the dogs do they need them to be perfect.

My book is Killer Nurse, by John Foxjohn, there are 326 pages and I am on page 204.
4) The broad topic of this book is about murder and the trial it causes (courtroom trials anyway). The topic is mostly about Finding the truth in many lies. I learned that a courtroom, unlike on many shows, *coughjudgejudycough* A trial doesn't take just one or two days every single time. It can take many, many days. as many as it takes to reach a verdict.

I am reading the book Devil at my Heels by Louis Zamperini. The book has a total of 289 pages and I stopped on page 186. I think that throughout the book Louis has to face many different challenges. Some of the challenges that Louis faced was flying a plane over enemy territory and bombing them. Some of the risks that he faces when doing this was that he could have been shot down or the enemy could have hit a bomb inside the plane and blew up the plane. I think that the biggest challenge that Louis faced was surviving on the raft for 47 days. Most of the days he did not have food or water.
