I am reading Shaken by Tim Tebow. Im on page 38 of 203.
b. I like Tim have had trouble with coaches at times. I too gave my 100% and it wasn't quite good enough. In the book Tim gets cut from the New England patriots and feels greatful for the opportunity but also crushed that he didn't have what it took to make. I had something similar happen to me sophmore year in basketball. I proved I deserved minutes on varisty but I got hurt and once I was healed coach didn't feel I was healthy enough for another chance at varsity. Tim tells a story of how he is reestablishing himself and growing through god and finding what his true purpose in life.

I am currently reading The Cabin By Natasha Preston, this book has 317 pages and I'm on page 91.

Well what Is happening in the book is kinda hard to make a Self Connection. in the book right now all the characters are at their friends funeral and there is only on time that I have went to a funeral for on elf my friends. Its a really hard topic to talk about so I'm not going into much detail about it'd because its something that no one should ever have to go through. Seeing one of your friends being buried and laid to rest is one of the hardest things that someone can go through. In the book two character were murdered, that didn't happen to my friend, but what happened to my friends is still a very sad thing. Just reading the part where their all at the funeral kinda takes me back to that day that was sad and depressing. Theres not much to say at funerals, but I thing when people cry at them that kinda like talking in a way. People feel the pain the you are feeling and just having someone to cry with is always good in a way, it doesn't feel like your alone. This ones a hard journal to write about, but I had to make a self connection and this is the best I could do.

I am currently reading 3,096 Days in Captivity by Natascha Kampusch. I stopped on page 85 of 310.
This book is about a girl that was abducted when she was 10 years old and was held captive for eight years. Something that is current today and local is the girl from near the Black Hills that went missing and still hasn't been found. Serenity Dennard is 9 years old and did not have a good family life so she was living in the Black Hills Children's Home. From there she ran away and no one has seen her since. This related to my book because Natascha also had a bad family life and they both went missing. They are also around the same age when they disappeared.

I'm currently reading 'Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters'. It's 279 pages and today I stopped on page 67. I also finished 'Percy Jackson: The Lightning Theif'.

A. In the Percy Jackson series, half the time, the world is on the verge of collapse. That seems pretty similar to our world right now. Another similarity is that a lot of the mythical creatures like to point out how humans are polluting and destroying the earth. That's also very relevant in our own world. The only difference is that a lot of weather and disasters are caused by Gods. In our world, the disasters and wars are caused by humans who don't care about the planet!

Today I read to page 170 of 278 in the book Rudy by Daniel Ruettiger.

A.
I believe their are many people just like Rudy that we don't know about. With the upcoming NFL draft their are many players who are gifted and will be first round picks and they never really had to work that hard. I believe their are a few players that barely were eligible for the draft and were not gifted. They are their for there hard work and dedication. Some of these guys will not be drafted. Even though they are the hardest working people, but they made it father than most people ever could dream and their is no shame. I think that is the same message that the book Rudy sends.

I am reading, I am The Weapon by Allen Zadoff. I'm on page 200 of 337. So far the book has been amazing.

B.
During the book, Sam the main character has know friends and he is very strong. He likes to pick a lot of fights because he knows he can win he also does this kinda stuff to get the cops onto him. When I went to New York I kinda saw the same thing happen in the subway, so we were waiting fir are train and this older man was playing the drums on a bucket until 3 high school boys came up to him and tried to distract him as one of the other boys tried to steal the money he had. I think this relates to the book because they can be considered the weapon if they try to make someone come after they to make themselves look cool.

I am reading Smiles to Go by Jerry Spinelli. Today I stopped on page 144 out of 248.
B.
In my story the three main characters play monopoly every week. Every week BT goes bankrupt and loses right away. This reminded me of a time when I played monopoly with my friends and Keighlor went bankrupt right away. The other two friends won off and on. This kind of reminded me about that time because the others a stayed in the game longer. Every time they would loan BT money and make deals with him. When Keighlor went bankrupt I remember having her give me properties instead of money because she didn't have enough.

I finished Hippie Boy last week. This week I started Finding Me and am on page 79 of 249.

A. In this section of my book, Michelle was lied to and taken. This relates to the world because young women and men liker her and being kidnapped. Many by people they know, like in Michelle's instance: her friend's father. This is something horrible that is happening and needs to stop. Another part from this book that is happening is kids escaping. Yesterday I read a story how a little girl from Sturgis keeps running away and has been missing for a couple months now. This is like Michelle's story. She ran away as a children and slowly found a way to live.

I am currently reading Far From You by Tess Sharpe. I am on page 265 of 341.

the are so many stories in this day and age of young women losing their lives. sex trafficking, murder, rape, all of it. And although I don't know exactly what happened, I can relate the disappearance of two young girls to modern life. people go missing all the time, kids, adults, students, many many people. This book sheds light on the aftermath of that. What happens to the families and friends of those you have died, and what their last moments were like. Sometimes the are the stories we never get hear.

I am reading Dare Me, by Eric Devine and Im on page 43 out of 335.
B.

This book is easily relatable to high school, because it focuses on high schoolers doing stupid things. The protagonist, Ben, and his friends are up to a ten month scheme to do ten dares. I've never done anything as crazy and wild as they've done, like car surfing, but both of us focus on making the most out of the school year. Especially senior year. So far, the high school experience is pretty similar to mine, problems with girls and constant homework. However, they're taking it one step further and doing dares that could possibly lead to injuries. Where as I an just trying to make the most out of the year.

I am currently reading Born at Midnight by C.C. Hunter. I am on page 366 of 398 pages.
A.
I am currently reading a book that is about a struggling seventeen year old girl named Kylie Galen. Her parents just divorced, her best friend is moving to college. Also the person she always looked up to has died. Now Kylie, is struggling with life. She decided to go to a party, but then gets arrested. So her over protective mother sends her to a camp for troubled teens. I believe many people can connect to Kylie because everyone has a rough patch in their life. So Kylie must go there and figure out what she wants to do with her life. Overall, I enjoyed this book and will probably finish it today or tomorrow in class.

I am currently reading Letting Go of Gravity by Meg Leder. I stopped on page 126 of 420.I also finished The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett last week.

A. This book I am currently reading is about twin siblings that are completely different. The girl is shy, while the boy is outgoing and outspoken. But there's also one more big difference: the boy has leukemia. This relates to the world today because cancer is very present in today's world. Anyone of any age can get cancer and I feel it is important to go in for yearly doctor checkups just to make sure you're okay. The boy in this book with Leukemia has gone into remission once, and then had his cancer come back. That is a very scary thing to happen.

I am now reading The Rig by Joe Ducie. I am on page 47 of 308. I finished Cheated yesterday.

A.

People everyday want to get out of where they are, whether its escaping or running away. In the story The Rig the main character, Drake, is trying to escape from a juvenile detention center and makes it out but soon gets caught. there are people in the world today that successfully get away with running away or escaping, and some get caught while doing it. Drake then gets sent to the RIG and its in the middle of the ocean and no where to get out. usually people will just get added on time to their sentence and not get sent to a little building in the middle of the ocean to try and escape again. This is exactly what Drake does and I question whether or not he will be successful.

I am reading I'll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson, and I am on page 171 of 371.

B.
Within the story, two twins named Jude and Noah live their daily lives as teenagers. They compete with each other and make the other mad just like regular brothers and sisters. This relates to me because I have twin cousins. Jude and Noah remind me of my cousins because Jude is a little taller and more popular than Noah. Noah is really shy and small. These characteristics fit my cousins perfectly. The story also portrays the loss of Jude and Noah's mother. With my cousins, they haven't lost parents to death, but they rarely ever see their father. I personally think not being able to see your parent(s) would effect you in the same way as them not being around at all. In conclusion, my book relates to my life because both the story and my life have a set of twins with similar characteristics on life.
