Our decision of course relies on the attempt and our judgement of the attempt, right out of the rule book. So, using rule book terminology, coach in my "judgement" there was no attempt, foul ball. This one was easy, try the one where the bat "stays out", while hitter ducks, foul ball, they hate that one, but the bat was out, I'm protecting the hitter here, who made the mistake, Jeff, I mean the pitcher, lol. You can see the umpire saying that by the way he leans back showing the coach, hitter was just trying to stay alive and not making an attempt, his good timing shows him looking at the hitter, digesting the play, and getting it right, take another look at the umpire this time not the play, that's how it is done. Also, notice the third base umpire moving in just in case they have something happen for the throwing at issue, good control of the game all the way around.

The bat was not brought forward to engage the ball. Clearly not a bunt attempt.
Foul ball.

click the link below to watch a video on a very questionable call...was it a bunt attempt with 2 strikes? Please comment and back up your comments with the Federation rules...Reds fans, please keep your bias out of the conversation...lol
