nce you have shadowed, please respond briefly to the following questions in complete sentences. Highlight and copy to take the questions with you to your response page!
1. When was your shadow?
Date and time were on your placement sheet or in email. (Answer in 1 complete sentence.) My job shadow was October 16th fro 12:30 to 3:30pm.
2. Where was your shadow?
Be specific. My shadow was at Butler CAT located at 3201 N Louise Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57107.
3. Whom did you shadow?
I shadowed a certified technician by the name of Colt Hawkins.
4. What was the BEST part of your shadow?
When colt showed me his tool box and and all of his tools. Then he proceeded take apart a transmission cooler finding all the tools I need in his box.
5. What was the WORST part of your shadow?
When I got the transmission cooler taken apart and Colt and me were just parts showing on the computer.
6. Are you still considering this career field? Why or why not?
No, I did some follow up research on this job and it does not pay well enough to go to school and be in this profession. Also the tools are outrageously expensive and you have to buy your own.
7. I would do the medical field, I find it very interesting and I'm looking to become a nurse since the program is 4 years and they get paid pretty well.

4. What was the BEST part of your shadow?
It was interesting to watch what he does and that he knows exactly how to do it, and that he’s able to build good relationships with the people that he works on.
5. What was the WORST part of your shadow?
When there wasn’t anyone in the room he didn’t really talk much so there was a lot of sitting around watching or just listening.
6. Are you still considering this career field? Why or why not?
Probably not but something close, just mostly because the pay is very low for how much school is required.
7. If you were to shadow again, what career field would it be in?
An Athletic trainer just doesn’t seem like the right fit for me, but maybe something more along the lines of a Physical Therapist might be more suited for me.

It was really cool to see how they store all the medications and why they do some of the stuff that they do in real life and more as a student than a patient, because looking at it as a patient, it's kind of scary, and you just go with what the nurses and doctor's tell/do, and as a student, I understood more of why they did that.
5. What was the WORST part of your shadow? We did have to do some paper work. There was a guy that had an accident and we had to clean it up and where a special suit that was as thin as paper, but it was to protect our clothes for other patients.
6. Are you still considering this career field? Yes. Absolutely
7. If you were to shadow again, what career field would it be in? I would still do an RN, but maybe one in an office like at my doctors office, or a different part of the hospital

1. When was your shadow? Date and time were on your placement sheet or in email. My job shadow was October 24, at 11:00am in the morning.
2. Where was your shadow? Be specific. It was on a Wednesday, on the 24th of October at 11:00am.
3. Whom did you shadow? I job shadowed at the police department of Sioux Falls SD, with Kyle Johnson.
4. What was the BEST part of your shadow? The best part that was very cool to me was when they took us to the garage, It was completely filled with four-wheelers, and under cover cop cars, motorcycles and Swat car. I very happy to be able to witness all that first hand.
5. What was the WORST part of your shadow? The worst part of the shadow was when they told us the part were they do all the boring stuff. When Kyle told us you have to write papers I realized that I was not into being a cop as I was earlier in the day before we have came across that.
6. Are you still considering this career field? Why or why not? Honestly as I was going to shadow, I was super hyped out. But soon as we went behind the scenes, reality hit and I did not want to be a police officer. Everyone knows police as they hunt down bad guys and do other cool stuff, but thats the fun stuff, theres a lot of boring stuff that comes with it. like writing reports and thats not for me.
7. If you were to shadow again, what career field would it be in? Definitely hands down a pilot, there job is so cool. They just fly people to there destination and chill. I really would most certainly job shadow as a pilot.
