This week we're going to be running the what has become known as "The Garden Street 10", at 8am, from the club parking lot.

This course winding course through Newburyport and West Newbury is beautiful at any time of year, but it's even better when running with friends.

This course is very easy and add or subtract miles, a few people are doing 12 or more, so come on out for a run on Saturday morning!!

Group Run

This week we're going to run from the Circle (8 am) into West Newbury for the 10 ish mile Garden St Loop. Then we'll reconvene at the Circle and run another 5ish. It's easy to change the route to accommodate individual mileage goals.

I don't have much to add this week except It's Gonna Be Great!

Group Run

This weeks sojourn is a combination of two of my favorite routes. "The 7.4 Mile Loop", and "Curzon Mill".

Beginning at the club (8am), we will traverse down Merrill Street, and cross the Mighty Merrimac. Upon the successful river crossing, we will head Easterly, through the quaint seaside city of Newburyport, where - it is said - nothing bad happens anymore... After a few miles, we turn North, over the Gillis Bridge. (This bridge is most known for always operating at maximum efficiency, and never, ever, gets stuck in the open position.) After some breathtaking views, it's time to head over to the Dead Marshes Trail. This 1.5 mile stretch was no doubt the influence for the entrance to Mordor, in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. It's beautiful, and dreadful all at once. And if you think I'm making this up, I am.

We will finish this first loop on the most popular Ghost trail. There lies the Ghost of my Strava Crown, that Rick Walsh stole from me. (I'm totally over it, and don't wish him ill. Really. I swear.)

The first loop closes back at The Circle for some water and fuel.

Loop two is most un-affectionately know as Curzon Mill. This route is Over the River, and Through the Woods. It's about 7.4 miles too. This fan favorite offers shady lanes, beautiful vistas, and will be a profound respite after our journey through the Marsh.

I don't want to over sell this one, but... It's Gonna Be Great!!

Summer Group Long Run's Continue: This weeks journey takes us on familiar roads with a directional twist. The group will leave the Circle at 8am. From there we will traverse over river and highway for a bit until we settle in for a nice stroll along the Mighty Merrimac River. The twist is we are going to run this well-trodden and admired route in a clockwise motion. I know, I know, it's not logical. It's most irrational... but we are ADVENTURERS!!! Course distance is around 16 miles. Less if we take the new rail trail over the River. Three or four water stops along the way. Any help with logistics is welcome. This route is tough to alter unless you want to swim...

This week, we begin our sojourn where it all began; in the quaint New England seaside hamlet of Seabrook, NH. At 8am. The course is out and back, in a more or less straight line, Mostly Northerly, then mostly Southerly. It is easy to add miles on this course. Some adventurers are doing 12 miles, some are doing more. There are numerous water bubblahs along the way. The weather look looks delightful as well.

So make no mistake... It's Gonna Be Great!!

This weeks run will feature rail trails, certain adventure and more beautiful scenery than you can handle. We will start from the club, and hook up with the Newburyport Clipper City rail trail, at the end of the rail trail, near the train station is a lone gravel path. After we discover this path, we will traverse down the course a bit, until we come to Highland Road. Highland turns into Hanover, which turns into Rolfe's, which turns into Ocean Ave. From there we navigate our way through Newburyport where we cross the Mighty Merrimac utilizing the ever popular Gillis Bridge (if it isn't stuck open). We are almost there when we arrive at the Old Eastern Marsh Trail in Salisbury. Finsish that, a quick 1.5 miles on the familiar Ghost Trail, and we have arrived back at the Circle. Mapped distance is like 14.5. Runners can very easily add or subtract miles from this course. The adventure begins at 8am.

Trust me when I tell you: It's gonna be great!!

Hi everyone,
I am helping to organize the Jamaco River Run 5k in Merrimac in June. I have been a member of Winners Circle for a couple years and I suggested offering a discount to WCRC members who want to run this race. For any members who want to register please use code WCRC19 for $5 off your registration. Hope to see many of you there. This will be the third year for this race and I have no doubt it will soon be a classic summer 5k. Please feel free to reach out with any questions bkelley0821@gmail.com.

Hello everyone.
On Wednesday, May 15, Galley Hatch Restaurant, Hampton, NH from 5 to 8 pm, there will be a small (6 authors) events that will include myself and Roseann Sdoia. If you are not yet familiar with my books, this would be a great time to find out about them. Roseann is a Boston Marathon Bombing survivor and has written a book about her experience. She ended up marrying the first responder who saved her life, even though she lost a leg.
I hope to see you there. Light refreshments and cash bar will be available at the event.
