Over break, I finished On the Fence by Kasie West. I just started Keep me in Mind by Jaime Reed and I stopped on page 10 today (I wasn't in class). I picked Liam for my character. I think he is most thankful for his girlfriend, Ellia. He doesn't like that they have to sneak around in order to hang out, but he thinks she is worth it. He always describes the things that he loves about her. It seems like that list of things is never ending. Reading those things makes my heart happy. Ellia has really strict parents, and that makes it hard for her to be able to hang out with Liam. He is thankful that she is willing to risk getting in trouble in order to hang out with him. He is also thankful that she is willing to exercise with him even though she hates it.

Over break, I finished both The Sorcerer's Stone, 240 pages, and The Chamber Of Secrets, 251 pages. I am now reading The Prisoner Of Azkaban. I am on page 250 of 317. Harry Potter is most thankful for Hogwarts. He is so thankful for this because that is the only place he belongs. Harry met all his friends there. He loves the magic and being around people like him. In the book, Harry is at Hogwarts the first day of school there is a big feast. The celebration starts with the sorting ceremony. They then start the feast. The sorting is a big tradition at the school, and happens every year. The first years line up in alphabetical order. They go up to the front, and sit on a stool. One of the teaches then puts a hat on their head. The hat announces what house they will be in.

I am currently reading Son, it has 393 pages and I am on page 182. During my book the colony that is where everyone lives, they always like to have feasts. Every time someone gets married, birthday or just if everyone wants to socialize. They usually have to set up a day or two in advance since the colony has over 500 people in it. The women make all the food and bake all day preparing it, the men set up all the tables and stands for the food. Each person plays a part in the festival by contributing one way or another. At the feasts before they let anyone eat they have to pray, and give thanks. The feasts last almost all day, it starts at 11:30 and goes into the evening until about 5:00. Everyone dances and sings, they sometimes have a small performance like a band or musician.

I am currently reading I am the weapon by Allen Zadoff and am currently on page 176 out of 337
I believe the character in my book is most thankful for his assignments. He doesn't have a name, he gets assigned a new name of every mission. HIs name for this assignment is Benjamin. Benjamin is thankful for the opportunities that "The Program" gives to him through his contract killing assignments. Although he is having a difficult time with this assignment because I think he is falling in love with he targets daughter. He is also thankful for he's seclusion that he has when he is not in an assignment because ehe is a not a very social person.

Over the long break I finished The Enemy Above By: Michael Spradlin. I am currently reading The Reaper By: Nicholas Irving. This book has 312 pages and I am currently on page 63.

A. The enemy above was a great and very interesting read. The chapters in this book were set up a little bit different though. During one chapter you would follow the German police trying to capture the Jews and during the next chapter you would follow the Jews trying to escape the German Police. Because of this you got to see just how lucky and un lucky the Jews were in different situations. All throughout this book the jews were very thankful but none more than Bebbe. Bebe was a village elder and was the grandmother of Dimitri who was in charge of the escape from the Ukraine. If it wasn't for him Bebbe would have been killed on a countless number of occasions. When she was captured it was Dimitri that came and saved her from the German Police. He risked his life to save her and to repay him she gave up her life to save him. One night a German Police officer stumbled upon the cave they were hiding in and raised his gun at Dimitri just as he shot Bebbe jumped in front of the bullet saving Dimiti and giving him enough time to disarm and kill the German. As she was dying she told Dimiti that she was around to have him as a son.

🦃 I finished They All Fall Down over the long snow-say break. The book I am currently reading is called Alive and it has 357 pages. I stopped at page 79 today.

The main character in my book is named Stella. She was a normal teenage girl until her heart started malfunctioning. She was supposed to die but last second they found her an emergency donor. She had the surgery and everything went perfectly. Now she had someone else's heart in her body and she was more than happy to be alive. The only problem with the heart is that it has strong feelings for her Donor's past lover. Even with a heart that has already claimed it's love for someone, she is extremely grateful. Since she didn't die she doesn't have to be replaced with Elise, her little dramatic cry baby sister. 🦃

I am currently reading We'll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han it has 291 pages and I stopped on page 114.
Belly the main character in this book is now getting married to the one boy she has grown up with and has been with most of her childhood and now adulthood, Jeremiah. They go to a restaurant and a really fancy one too there's steaks and salmon and nice appetizers it is very nice. When they announce that they are getting married the whole family goes blank her family including his family. They don't approve because they still are young and haven't even finished college yet. But they both are deeply and madly in love with each other they want to make their relationship work, Jeremiah had cheated on Belly over spring break with another college girl and she couldn't trust anymore, I wouldn't either. But he asks her the big question randomly because he knows he was wrong and idiotic for doing that and wanted to make it up to her by marrying her and being committed to each other. All of this is going fast but I don't think others are approving this decision either her mom is really mad because she wants her wait and make sure she knows what she's doing, Conrad ex and Jeremiah's older brother was caught off guard which may lead to another conflict. But this just goes to show that a big meal can cause a big mess.

Im currently trying to finish Witch World by Christopher Pike, I read 356 out of 521, I stopped in a middle of a fight.
A. In my book the main character Jesse/ Jessica would be thankful for her boyfriend and lover Jimmy/James. He is present in both world but does have a child with her in both worlds. He is a truly amazing boyfriend, he respect Jesse enough to not force a decision on her or to push her to do anything. He isn't connected yet so he fells left out. But Jesse/Jessica is lucky to have such a man like Jimmy/James. Another thing Jesse/Jessica is probably is thankful for is her daughter Lara. This child is seen as powerful for only being a few months old. She has all of the witch genes which makes her very powerful.

I didn't read much this weekend, but I finished the second Percy Jackson graphic novel. I'm reading The Supernaturalist: The Graphic Novel now. It doesn't have numbers.

B. Every evening at Camp Half-Blood, all of the campers and counselors attend a huge dinner. It's just like a normal camp dinner, except it's a buffet of anything you could ever want to eat. You can request any food or drink in the world, and have it delivered fresh to you, in any way you like it. The camp has 12 cabins, with most having anywhere from 2-20 kids inside, and they all have to eat. Every meal is like a huge feast for them, really. There's also a giant in this specific book who raises a flock of sheep. He patiently raises them and cares for them, and when they're fat and ready, he just has himself a feast. He also eats a boulder in this book.

I finished Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and I am now reading Carry On by Rainbow Rowell I am on page 115 of 520.
Simon talks about food a lot in this book. So far it has been a lot of breakfast foods. They have a big picnic at the beginning of the school year. They have chicken roast and lots of rolls. Simon talks about cherry scones a lot and says they're what he misses the most about Watford. He also talks about roasts and rolls because those are served a lot. He and his friends discuss things that are going on during breakfast so breakfast has been really important so far. So far most of the book has taken place during meals or somehow food is brought up.

I finished Dark Inside and am now reading Plague and am on page 233 of 492.
B In Plague the kids of the FAYZ have been struggling with starvation since the beginning. They had water and electricity until the power was disabled also taking out the water. The children have set up a little bit of stability with the food situation but food is still extremely valuable. Finding water is their new challenge. Sam, Dekka, and Jack have been sent out on a mission to find a large lake for water. On their way to this lake they come across this military science lab. They find a kid named Toto who has been living alone off Nutella for almost half a year. Toto shows the group where he found all the Nutella and they about go crazy over the sweet flavor. With further inspection there are trail carts filled with food and most importantly pop. Forgetting their mission the kids eat all the food they can fit in their mouths. This is defiantly a big meal for the children of the FAYZ.

I am reading Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare and I'm on page 412 of 668.

Julian is a character in my book and I think he is most thankful for his family. Since his parents died when he was 12 and he's two oldest siblings, Mark and Helen, were taking away, Julian had to raise his four younger siblings by himself. He would do anything for them. He thinks of them as his own children, he punishes and loves them as any parent would. Even when Mark comes back, threatening Julian's way of life, Julian knows that he would give up the kids to Mark if that's what they wanted. Although Julian was deprived of a normal childhood, he wouldn't trade his family for anything. Julian loves his siblings more than any other character loves anything else in this book. He would for sure be most thankful for his family.

I am reading Unlikely Warrior by Georg Rauch. I am on pg 143 of 317.
l
My character doesn't get much great food in this book. He is forced to eat army rations from Germany. He gets Soup water, hard old bread, and a little bit of meat. He only drinks a liters of milk, coffee, and water. Most German soldiers find food in houses or in towns. Most kill village chickens and rob people of their food. My main character has had an incident happen where he was so hunger for cooked meat, that he tried cooking some horse meat while the Russian plans were attacking. My character doesn't get much food but he gets more than the average soldier does because he is a telegrapher and they are usually not on the front line.

I am reading The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen, I am on page 127 out of the 374 total pages.

A. I think the main character in my book is most thankful for her mom. Her mom is the only parent that she has now after her dad died. Her mom works late nights so that she can have what she wants. Her mom is also there for her when she needs her. I think that the main character is also very thankful for her friends. I think this because her friends help her through hard times. They also help her keep her mind off of her dads death. Her mom and her friends keep her going and thats what I think he is most thankful for in her life.
