Seb shook his head. "You were respectful about it, which is more than some others have been. You don't have to apologise. And... you are my doctor. If there's anyone I should feel comfortable being entirely open with, it's you," he admitted, looking aside.

"I never knew that." Klifford admitted. "Docia never did tell me, but then again it wasn't really any of my business. My apologies if I made you feel uncomfortable or anything, Sebastian. That wasn't my intention."

"Oh, really?" Seb said, sounding a little surprised. "I guess mother's not really one for talking much about her private life, though. Um, Abby's my mum and Docia's my mother. I'm adopted," he explained simply.

"Well, I'm glad to hear you're making the most of the time you have together." Klifford said. "But, if you don't mind me asking, who is this Abby? I don't believe I've heard of her before."

Seb actually smiled at that, though it somehow looked a bit empty on him. "If I know mother, if she had more time on her hands she'd use it all for work. She's maybe a bit of a workaholic. But I don't begrudge her for it, and we make use of the small slivers of time we do get together well. If anything my mum Abby probably misses her the most; I guess I've never known mother to be anything else so to me this is exactly who she is."

"Thanks, Sebastian. That was nice of you to say." Klifford replied, with a smile.

"You know, I'm sure your mother feels the same way. Even if she doesn't say so, every parent wants to spend time with their kids." He continued. "I'm sure Docia wishes she had some more free time as well."

"So it's like that after all... Yeah, mother isn't able to spend much time at home either. But in her case, that feels normal, she was never one for unnecessary conversations and can be quite efficient with the time she does spend at home," Seb said.

"You, though... I get the feeling your kids probably want to see you more often," he continued a little awkwardly. "I mean, I don't know them at all or anything, I guess you just... seem like that sort of parent. You clearly love your family, so in turn they probably feel the same."

"I see..." Klifford said. He seemed like he wanted to continue the conversation, but wasn't sure how to.

"I don't really have much time with them, unfortunately." He replied. "That's why I have to make every second count. As it is, I only have a few hours to spend with them a day. They understand that I'm busy with work, but that doesn't make it any easier on them..." He sighs. "I'm hoping that once we get out of here, I'll be able to lighten up my work load a little, so I can have more time with them."

"Well... that's just how it is," Seb shrugged. A year ago he might have expressed more here, but now he seemed genuinely uncaring about his situation.

He turned back to Klifford after he commented on his family some more. "About that... how do you find the time to spend with your family? Your work must keep you busy."

"Hmm... That sounds a bit too lonely for my liking." Klifford said. "But if it works for you and you're happy with it, then I'm happy for you."

He smiles warmly. "Yeah, it's pretty cute. And I really do love them. I'm the luckiest guy in the world to have a family like them. I hope we find Enola soon so I can get back to them."

Seb shrugged, unconcerned. "By doing all the cleaning, people give me space. I'm... often considered the 'odd one out', but people appreciate the work I do, which keeps pressure off me. It's a neat arrangement."

"Anyway, that sounds... cute," he then admitted, looking to one side. "You must really love your family."

"Really? No one else would help you clean up?" Klifford asks. "Even if you don't mind cleaning, that doesn't really seem fair. I'm surprised the teachers didn't make anyone else help you."

"Oh don't get me wrong, she's hygienic." The doctor replied. "She's really good about that. It's just that she doesn't pick up her toys and stuff." He chuckles. "She's so full of energy that she's always moving on from one toy to another. By the time she's done playing her room looks like a tornado hit it."

"It's not for everyone. I'm usually the one left cleaning up the classroom, and the path I take to school would be littered and messy if it weren't for me. But I prefer a clean environment, so I don't mind cleaning up just for my own sake, and if other people benefit from that, then all the better."

"Still, as a doctor you value hygiene, right? I'm surprised your daughter didn't pick that up from you," Seb said.

“Yeah, I definitely wouldn’t have the patience to clean like you do.” Klifford replied. “I think it’s great that you like cleaning so much. It kind of ties into what I said about every kid being unique, even if you’re not exactly a child anymore. It makes me wish my daughter had the same attitude as you about cleaning, she’s always making messes.”

"Hmm... I see," Seb replied deadpan. Despite the heartwarming sentiment he seemed as dispassionate as ever, or at least as dispassionate as he'd been for the last year or so. "I suppose it's good for someone to enjoy their work so much. I know most dislike cleaning, for example, and would not have the patience to do what I do. The same would apply to you."
