I just finished The Lost Fleet: Fearless by Jack Cambell. The book was 295 pages.
The three songs that would fit my book would be, "Titanium" by Sia, "Bulletproof" by La Roux and "Centuries" by Fall Out Boy. I picked "Titanium" because it speaks of strength and fortitude. Both things that are needed in their voyage home. I chose "Bulletproof" because of the strong hulls of the warships that are crewed and led in many daring battles. I also chose it in a small want for them to be safe and not to be hurt further. And finally, I chose "Centuries" because the song talks about being remembered for centuries and John was remembered for his last stand over a century. I also chose it because all that the Alliance Fleet is doing will indeed be remembered for centuries. Their loss and their triumph will echo down the annals of history for as long as the Alliance stands. (Figuratively of course, it's just a book series.)

I am reading Period 8 by Chris Crutcher and I finished the 275 pages today. One song that goes well with this book is Unfaithful by Rihanna. I chose this song because it is about her cheating boyfriend, and in the book Paul cheated on Hannah with Mary, and that is a big part of the book. The second song I chose is Broken Angel by Boyce Avenue. This song is about trying to live up to your abusive fathers relationship, which is very similar to Mary. People believe Mary's father is abusive, and she is always trying her best to be perfect for him. I also picked Secret Agent Man by Johnny Rivers. Logs, Paulies teacher was very questionable about the disappearance of Mary. He did not believe it was because of his father. Paulie and Logs investigated, which got them in trouble. They were being chased and were forced to jump into the lake, causing Logs to get hypothermia. They found out that Mary was abducted.

I am reading Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. There are 338 pages and I stopped on page 63. I didn't know a few words in my book. For example, lackadaisical means lacking enthusiasm or determination. It is important to this book because she is stuck in an asylum and she fears many things so this makes her become the person she is, a quite person who keeps to herself. Another one is ennui, it means a feeling of listlessness and dissatisfaction arising from a lack of excitement. The last word is modicum, it means a small quantity of a particular thing. She gets one meal a day if she is lucky. They don't treat the patients correctly in the asylum.

I just finished reading the book Lemony Sicket. I am now reading the book Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers. There are a total of 309 pages and I stopped on page 25 today. One word that I cam across in my reading was hemophilia. This word can be defined as a disorder in which the blood does not clot normally. Another thing that I didn't know what it meant was venereal diseases. Venereal diseases is an infection transmitted through sexual contact, its caused by parasites. The last thing that confused me in my reading was when they talked about getting shots of DDT. DDT is like an insect repellent and is used to help not catch malaria.

I am reading the book The Wide Window by Lemony Snicket. It has 214 pages in it and I stopped on page 64 today. There are three main characters in the book and each one of them has an object they couldn't live without. Violet, the eldest Baudelaire child could not live without her ribbon. Her ribbon is important to her because she uses it to tie her hair back when she is working on an invention. Klaus, the second Baudelaire child, simply could not live without his glasses. Since Klaus can not see very well he couldn't live without his glasses. He also is very big into books and without his glasses couldn't read all the things he would like to. Then there is Sunny, the youngest Baudelaire child. Sunny couldn't live without her teeth, this is because, even though little Sunny likes to bite on everything. Without biting Sunny would be bored.

I finished "The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader" today and started "The Silver Chair". "The Silver Chair" starts on page 543 in "The Chronicles of Narnia" and ends on page 665. I stopped on page 567. The main character in The Silver Chair (Eustace Scrubb) would not be able to live without these three things, a sword, a compass, and a knowledge of the land and people. He would need his sword for various reasons, the main one would be to protect himself from the dangers he may face on the journey to find the lost Prince. He also needs his sword in order to knight anyone he deems worthy. The compass he needs in order to know the direction in which he is going. However, he claims that he has the compass points memorized in his head, but who is to say the directions in our world are the same as the directions in Narnia. The last of the "things" he would not be able to live without is the knowledge of the land and people. For this adventure he must travel through some unknown lands (Very dangerous), but he does know the land of Narnia (sort of) so the first leg of the journey would be very easy for him. The people on the other hand, he missed the one person he knows still in the land, this may be a problem as Aslan (basically god) told him that he must talk to the first person he sees in Narnia as it will be a close friend. However, Eustace did not talk to his friend (Who happened to be Prince Caspian the Tenth) which means help will be very hard to come by on their adventure.

I am currently reading Stuck in Neutral by Terry Trueman, there are 114 pages and today I stopped on 43. I am choosing to do topic 1, the first object my main character could not live without would be his wheelchair. He couldn't live without his wheelchair because thta is the only way he can get around. He couldn't live without it because it is his only support system. He also could not live without his mom. He couldn't live without his mom because she has to help him with everything that he does everyday. He couldn't live without her because she is one of the only people that loves him for who he is. My last thing that my character could not live without is his seizures. He can not voluntarily move any one of his muscles. But when he has a seizure he feels free and is able to move around until he is forced back into his body. He says that his seisures cause him no pain but they feel good for him, but he knows that they cause his family pain when they have to watch him. During his seizures he can laugh and even though he knows it is probably annoying for his family he thinks his seizures are one of the best things that ever happen to him.

I just finished reading And We Stay by Jenny Hubbard. There is 221 pages in the novel. One item my main character can't live without is her notebook. She likes to write poems in her notebook when she is sad. Writing poems is her way of coping when she has bad memories. Another item she can't live without is coffee. Coffee is her escape because it gets her through the day and limits her dreams. This is a good thing for her because she is always having bad dreams. My last item that she can't live without is cigarettes, even though they are bad for her. She smokes whenever she is stressed or sad because it is relaxing to her.

I am currently reading No Dawn Without Darkness by Dayna Lortez. This book has 233 pages and I am currently on page 197. This book has many things that people need to survive. The first would be water. Water is a huge topic of this book and without it the teens would surely die. Food, without food the teens would starve in this book. Food is extremely valuable in this book because it is hard to get, these teens have to use their talents and skills to get it. Weapons, without weapons these teens would surely die. They need weapons to both defend themselves and fight for food or water.

I finished "This is SO not happening" by Keiran Scott, my new book is called "The girl who never was" by Sylar Dorset, it has 292 pages and I stopped on page 9.
PROMT 1
One thing that Ally could not live without is basketball. She is an amazing basketball player and everyone in Orchard Hill knows that, and since she is a senior, she is hoping to get into a school that has a basketball team and is allowing Ally to be able to play. Jake loves watching Ally play basketball when they have games, every time that she has a game, she can always hear Jake, yelling her name.
The second thing that Ally can't live without is Jake. I swear, these two people keep on dating and breaking up, dating and breaking up. The first book I've read, Jake was trying to win Ally over again after something that happened at Shannon's birthday party..which they were dating but broke up again because Jake was a part of it. This book, they were dating at the beginning of the book but then Chloe got pregnant and said it was Jake's baby, then they figure out that it's Will's baby so then Jake starts being a total jerk to her and so Ally breaks up with him and at the end Jake trys to win her over because he realizes that yes, he has become a jerk and then they end up going to prom and they're together again. I can guarantee that she can't live without him because they've dated SO. MANY. TIMES!
The last thing that Ally can't live without is her friends and family. Throughout this series her friends have always been by her side, all the time. Of course in the second book all of her friends hated her because her dad 'stole' all of their money for a business that got robed...but they're over that now. She has a lot of supporting friends that helps her when she feels depressed or down, they always have drama...which probably isn't a good thing but sometimes it can be helpful. Her family just got married and now that adds something new in Ally's life. She definitely can't live without her family and her dad...which isn't her dad anymore because her mom got remarried.

I am reading Everyday by David Levithan. There are 322 pages and I ended on page 177. I'm doing the first writing prompt. A wakes up in a new body everyday, so he needs to separate himself and this new person in his head. So, the first thing he needs is himself. The second thing he needs is his memories. In this book A has to work to keep the memories that are important to him. He chooses to remember necessary things to live, but also moments he lived in other bodies that felt real to him. This keeps him from going crazy. The third thing A needs are his skills to read people. While jumping from life to life he has learned to read what people expect from this person he is pretending to be that day.

I am reading Taken by Erin Bowman. It has 360 pages and I am on page 74. My three soundtracks would be I don't dance by lee brice. He has fallen in love with a girl and doesn't know how to tell her. My second soundtrack would be You belong with me by Taylor Swift. They talk to each other but they can't be together forever. My third choice would be We are in heaven. There is this thing called the heist and it takes only boys on their 18th birthday. So they think that they are dead and they go up to heaven.

I am reading Found by Margaret Peterson Maddix. It has 314 pages and today I ended on page 187. One thing that my main character could not live with out would be his best friend Chip. Chip helps him through everything, and is always there for him. The second thing he couldn't live without would be his sister, Katherine. He couldn't live without Katherine because she's the one he relies on. She is always ready to talk to him and help him with his problems. The last thing he could not live without would be his parents. His parents love him so much. They adopted him when he was very little, and has loved him just as much as his sister.

I am reading I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson. I stopped on page 139 of 371. The main character of this book would not be able to live without his drawing pad, colors, and binoculars. He would need his drawing pad because he is an artist, who can draw many things from rocks and potatoes to sceneries and people. The drawing pad is his passion, dream, and his entire life. He would need colors to make everything into perspective. He puts his life into perspective with the colors, he gives each person a color and that describes them. The binoculars are so he gets a closer look at them. He likes to be exact and give them every detail until it is good enough.

I am reading The Warriors Heart, there is 267 pages and today I ended on page 103.
If I could pick three objects that the character couldn't live without there would be some simple ones. The first object would be a camera, because his job is a photographer. He travels around the world currently and takes photographs of current day genocides around the world. Another object would be his passport. In order to travel around the world you need a passport. That is why he would not be able to function properly without his passport. Finally would be his knowledge. This man is incredibly smart and without the information he knows, he would probably have been killed. The reason for this is because he has come across sticky situations where he needed to do some bribery just to get out of being shot and killed. f

I am now reading Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, I am on page 15 of 198. I am choosing to do option 1. In my book the main character Melinda doesn't talk. One thing she couldn't live without is her headphones. I think this because she can escape from her school with these on. The second thing is her parents. They know what she is going through and how she can handle the mean girls at school. The last thing is art. In art class her teacher sees that she isn't like other girls. Melinda is very creative and can escape life by using her imagination. I think this book will be very interesting to read, seeing a point of view from a teenage girl who doesn't talk and in her first year of high school with no friends. I can't wait to meet more characters and see how a new friend Heather can help Melinda through her freshman year.
