I am reading Winter of Candy Canes by Debbie V. I think All I Want for Christmas is You applies to my book. I think it applies because Candy is dating a boy in this book. She is searching for the perfect present for him. However, all he really wants is her for Christmas. He really isn't concerned with material things. Regardless of this, Candy wants to find him the perfect gift anyway. She ends up getting him a watch, which he loves. They are both satisfied because he got a watch AND her love for Christmas. She got to see him happy and that made her happy as well.

I finished Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. I think 'the best gifts come from the heart' applies to Eleanor and Park because the 'gifts' they share do come from the heart. Park is very passionate about music so he lends Eleanor his tapes so she can listen to songs he thinks she'll like. He also gives her comic books to read because he knows she'll like them. Eleanor gave Park a book she had because she couldn't get him anything else. It was the thought that counted so the book made Park really happy. They both knew each other so well so they didn't have to make grand gestures to show their care for one another. That I think shows how 'the best gifts come from the heart.'

I am currently reading Way of the Reaper by: Nicholas Irving. This book has 282 pages and I finished this book on my flight from Seattle to Denver.

Because my book is not really a christmas book non of these really apply. But "All I want for christmas is you" comes very close. Because in the book Irv talked about how he missed his wife overseas. He even dedicated a chapter to returning home. And in that chapter he talked about how much he loved seeing his wife again and how many fun things that did together once he was home. And because he was away from his wife on christmas one year I think that this sone fit that christmas very well. He said that that was the first year he was away from his wife on christmas. So I think that this song would fit the emotions of both of them very well.

I am reading Christmas with Tucker its has 179 pages and I am on page 64. "All I want for christmas is You" these song lyric relate to my book the most. In the book a young boy has to stay with his grandparents until his mother comes back for christmas. All he wants for christmas is for his mom to come back and be with him. The boy misses his mother deeply and can't wait for her to come back on christmas eve. Ever since his mother left the farm he's been upset and having a hard time getting used to it. But when his neighbor lives for business the boy gets to take care of his dog in the meantime so he has something to do. This relates to my current book I am reading because of all the things he could want for christmas is just one thing and thats his mother.

I am reading Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Leviathan. I stopped at page 105 of 260. I finished Alive before I started this Christmas book.

5. "All I want for Christmas is You." How do these lyrics apply to your book?

In my book Dash and Lily are really just exchanging gifts back and forth but what they really want is to meet each other. Dash is spending christmas all alone, but he has chosen to spend it alone. Lily is spending it alone because she accepts the fact she has to. The two exchange a red notebook with little letters and dares in it back and forth forcing each other to do crazy things. Dash sat on Santa's lap at 16 years old and made a huge scene. Lily watched 'grandma got run over by a reindeer surrounded by screaming children'. The two are just destined to be together. Dash would hate the reference of all i want for Christmas is you. He would never admit that what he really wants for Christmas is to meet Lily who he's been getting to know this whole time.

I just finished the 352 pages the book Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle. This book is my Christmas book and it really got me I the holiday spirit. One set of lyrics that relates to my book is "Oh the weather outside is frightful...Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow." This story is split into three smaller stories. Each of these stories have different character who live in the same town. Each story intwines because of a huge snow storm on Christmas Eve. The snow completely changes what would have happened on their Christmas. As new problems arise they meet new people and each love story interconnects. The first sorry starts with a girl named Julie who is on a train on her way to Florida. The train ends up being stuck in the snow and can not go any farther. She meets a boy named Jeb ,who's story is told in the last part of the book. They decide to go to a Starbucks nearby to warm up. Julie then meets another guy named Stewart. She ends up going to Stewart's house for Christmas. On the way there they run into a couple who also got stuck in the snow ,there story in then told in the second part of the book.

I am reading Skipping Christmas by John Grisham an am on page 30 of 178.
"All I Want for Christmas is You", relates to Luther because all he wants todo on Christmas is to take his wife on a carribean cruise. He is a tax accountant, all he does is think about money. He think that, "Last year we sen 6,100 dollars on Christmas, why don't we spend it on something more useful?" Well this year, Luthers daughter loves for a year long trip to colombia to help families in need down there. He hopes to use this as leverage to persuade his wife, Nora, into going on this luxury cruise. I don't blame him for eating to go. Its a good book so far, its kind of funny when they leave the airport after dropping their daughter off, they go to the store and on the way in theres a paragraph about how mad he got when he steps in a puddle of freeing water. I thought it was funny because what he did, is the exact same thing I would do.

Im currently reading the return of king Doug by Gerb Erb, Jason Oremland and Wook-jin Clark. I read 120 pages out of 181.
How these lyrics apply to my book is that one of the TumTums has wished for the Chosen one named Doug to return. And to rid of the evil queen. Feldspar the tumtum was the only one to have faith that Doug would come back to save them. Even though he did leave them. The little gave never gave up on him. He even saved him when his village tried to eat Doug. They sound nice cause of their names but there not that nice now. But Feldspar isn't going to leave Dougs side. He would even risk his own life for him. But from the looks of it so far they both will end up dead. But thats just cause Doug is being executed.

I am reading The Mistletoe Promise by Richard Paul Evans I stopped on page 110 and there is 251 pages. "The best gifts are from the heart." I think this goes along perfectly with this book because Elise's Love interest buys and gives her extravagant gifts everyday it seems like. There was one day when Nick bought her 142 roses and they were in different sets so there was a lot. But he always tries to make sure she really enjoys the gifts and he takes her out to go see christmas musical and plays, and out to eat. But you can tell her really cares about her and the gifts do come from his heart he sees he as a beautiful soul he mentioned in the book. This book is a romance but with it being a christmas literature book it is more about giving and spending time with someone you love, and cherishing the holiday spirit with someone you love. I think the best gift Nick has given to Elise is her finding her hope again, because she talked about her past in this book and she hasn't had a good past, so I think Nick is trying to uplift her happiness again.

I'm reading The Awesome. It has 246 pages, and I stopped at 179.

6. "On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me..."
These lyrics apply to my book kind of ironically. The story involves a young monster hunter girl named Maggie, who, when trying to get her vampire killing license, accidentally becomes a vampire's servant. This obviously messes things up for her, because 1: she's a monster hunter. She's not supposed to become a monster herself. She also still needs to get her license, with the threat of a vampire prince siccing a horde of various spook-things, and her new sort of curse. She loves her boyfriend, and her boyfriend has the key to obtaining her license. She just has to keep monsters from killing everyone, and without telling her mother why, she must keep her from doing her job. Her true love is going to give her her vamp hunting license.

I am currently reading The Dead of Winter and am on page 29 of 218. I finished the book Fear.
2. There is a lot of traveling in my book. A lot of which is by horse and carriage. The main character Michael became an orphan when his mother recently died. Now a wealthy man decides to take him in and care for him. Michael, will all his heart, does not want to go, but he sees no other choice. Where I am reading Michael is traveling with a stranger that is supposed to take him to his new guardian. On the ride over they talk and get to know one another and find that they get along very well. Michaels new guardian lives quite a distance away, so they have to travel by carriage through a drained out swamp and other areas.

I finished the book Between Shades of Gray. I am now reading the Christmas Pony and to has 169 pages and i am on page 46.

All I want for Christmas is you goes with my book pretty well. Lucy's family is poor and she wants a horse. She has wanted a horse for a very long time but her mom doesn't have the money. There is this pony named Smokey that she passes when she goes to town everyday. She likes Smokey because he has this pretty, fuzzy, grey fur that would keep her warm. Now she is wanting that pony because it isn't going to cost as much as a horse and it will grow into a horse. Lucy is trying to find out how much it is and of it comes with anything. Lucy is trying very hard to get Smokey since it's the only thing she wants for Christmas.

I just finished Once by Morris Gleitzman

Felix was on his way to a Nazi Death Camp. But he, and a few other men, broke open the planks of the train cart. He, Zelda, and another girl jumped out. But the Nazis were on top of the cars and started to shoot at them. Lucky for Felix and Zelda they made it alive. But the other girl was killed. Now they are running away from the Nazis and are tying to find a way out. I think that in the next book, Felix and Zelda will be trying to escape to a country that Germany hasn't invaded. And I think that Felix will find his parents or will find out where they are.

I am reading City of Glass by Cassandra Clare and Grace by Richard Paul Evans. I am on page 292 of 541 in City of Glass, and 105 of 307.

5. "All I want for Christmas is you", relates to Grace because you can tell Eric is falling for Grace. He does everything for her. He brings her food, he skips school to hang out with her, and he lies to his family about her. All Eric thinks about is Grace. He will be at work and he'll wonder what Grace is doing. As soon as he gets home, he goes out to the clubhouse where she's staying and checks on her. He even gets nervous when she doesn't respond to him right away when he tries to wake her up. All Eric wants for Christmas is Grace.

I am currently reading Hannah's Hope by Karen Kingsbury, there is 161 pages and I am on page 101. I didn't finish my other book by Nicholas Sparks before reading this because I had a lot left.

5. These lyrics apply to my book because the main character wants her parents to come home for Christmas. Her parents live far away for work and she only sees them twice a year. This year they told her that they weren't coming home for christmas this year. Her mom decided to tell her that the guy that she has known as her father her whole life isn't her actual father. So then she wants to find him and get to know him because she never really got to know him. Hannah, the main character, gets asked to tell her story in the newspaper and does. Her mom finds out and isn't happy about it. She tells her mom that all she wanted was to spend Christmas with her real dad when her mom decides to come home and talk about what has happened.
