25 November 1900

International letter from Porto, Portugal to Zurich, received 25 November. A great example showing why sellers should show reverse sides of covers.
Receiving date stamps were added to the backs of envelopes and the address side of post cards. Razor devices used as receiving date stamps are usually more difficult to find than when used on outgoing mail.

23 November 1878

International postcard from Geneva to Brünn, Moravia. Privately printed postcard advertsing international shipping company. Notice space for stamp is for upper left and date stamp at upper right. The company obviously knew the stamp would be cancelled and a second date stamp would be placed on the card, so the clerk got a great center strike on the stamp, but missed the right circle!

21 November 1903
Basel to the German Consulate, Nagasaki, Japan received 8 January.
International postcard.

This Basel canceler was the second production device made by Güller after acceptence of DeCoppet's flexible-head design. This series of cancellers is identified by the fleuron decoration and they were made until 1914 when the design was changed to include stars instead of fleurons.
