Z78B 12.9.1900 Here is a cancel I got recently, tickled my fancy: the famous UPU commemorative with the allegorical Mademoiselle UPU throwing mail from heaven, and looking desperate for a square meal. There's gotta be a story there. Edited 02-28-2021 04:23 PM

28 February Well, I don't have any really decent 28 February items, so thought this a suitable substitution. 29 February 1904 A postcard was mailed at the Bendlikon-Kilchberg post office, destination Trogen, Appenzell. This at first appears to be an ambulant cancel, but it's not. These two communities have been associated with each other for centuries - from Wikipedia - "Kilchberg is first mentioned in 1248 as Hilchberch. In 1250 it was mentioned as Kilchperch.[3] It grew out of the mediaeval village of Bendlikon (first mentioned in 1250 as Benklinkon) where Kilchberg was just a section of the village." This device was part of the first set of cancelers made by Güller to confirm that his design could be mass produced. This device was issued 20 October 1903. Edited 02-28-2021 11:54 AM

James - There was a Swiss exhibition, 175 Jahre Baseler Taube, which had this exhibit included. I think you might be interested. http://175jahrebaslertaube.ch/de/sammlung/9800-0906100001/

Welcome James - sorry, I know nothing about soldier stamps other than generic information. As to WWI issues, I can only think that one must pay attention to Swiss auction houses and look for soldier stamp collections and accumulations. Obviously you have the Sulser Soldier Stamp catalogue. I did find this address for a collector of soldier stamps. I have no idea whether or nor he is still collecting this area, but he may be able to point you in the right direction. He wrote numerous articles for the American Helvetia Philatelic Society. Rudy Schaelchli, PO Box 515, Millerton, NY 12546

Hello Ricardo, You should get a Swiss certificate for this stamp. There were so many forgeries and replicas made especially during the 19th century that a certificate is required to obtain a real price. Otherwise, everyone will assume it is a replica or forgery.
