The water in the pool was pumped in from the river, as it was for many, many years. Mostly just sediment which will be cleared up by the filter as soon as it is running. Water is then chlorinated and PH adjusted. It will be just fine then.

I see that the pool has water in it but very dirty. I hope that isn't town water.. How long until it is suitable for swimming?

Yes, Any and all winners will be contacted. The treasurer made up a database with ticket numbers and purchasers. If you do win, you WILL be notified.
Good luck!

Will winners of the gun/cash raffle be notified? I thought I put my tickets on my fridge but I can't seem to find them to check them.

February 1st
To everyone in the Greater Millerstown Area:
The Millerstown Pool Committee ( Pool Pals ) sincerely thank everyone involved over the last 3 or 4 months in the effort to save and revitalize our community pool . We presented our 3 year plan for continued pool operation to the Recreation Board and received the green light to make the pool great once more! We wish to thank the MRC for allowing us to become partners in the success of both the pool and the park. Fundraising efforts to this point have been quite successful by demonstrating a renewed need and desire to have a community swimming pool to provide wholesome fun and learn-to-swim lessons to the entire area.
There is much to do, but the Pool Pals and many others are prepared to do anything it requires to get the pool up and running.
The list of proposed improvements and amenities includes increased shaded areas, a pool slide, additions to concession stand offerings, available WiFi for the enclosure, new filtration equipment, and more. This will provide, compliment and encourage more usage and attendance at the entire park complex, and a benefit for all.
We appreciate being given the opportunity to be a part of this!

February 1st – 7 p.m.
To everyone in the Greater Millerstown Area:
The Millerstown Pool Committee ( Pool Pals ) sincerely asks for your support and presence on February 1st, 7 p.m. at the Community Park Building. We will be presenting our 3 year plan for continued pool operation. Fundraising efforts to this point have been quite successful by demonstrating a renewed need and desire to have a community swimming pool to provide wholesome fun and learn-to-swim lessons to the entire area.
The Millerstown Recreation Board needs to see the progress and resolve of this remarkably dedicated group of residents who have generously stepped up to save the pool. An entire slate of ideas, proposals and improvements is on the agenda. And by being there to show and voice your support for this effort is vital to our success and ability to move quickly forward. The Board’s approval is essential and by simply demonstrating your commitment and interest in the future of the pool, we can overcome the obstacles and provide the greater community the options for enjoyment of both young and old.
The list of proposed improvements and amenities includes increased shaded areas, a pool slide, additions to concession stand offerings, available WiFi for the enclosure, new filtration equipment, and more. This will provide, compliment and encourage more usage and attendance at the entire park complex, and a benefit for all.
Please try to attend this important meeting on Wednesday, February 1st, 7 p.m. at the Community Park Building.
Thank you!

The trash collectors do NOT take Christmas trees or brush & branches, etc. The Borough however does pick up these things, but only on Tuesdays.

*** LET'S MAKE A SPLASH!!! Help improve the Millerstown Community Pool! ***
Millerstown Community Pool is under new management. A group of concerned citizens, Millerstown Pool Pals,
has been created as an Ad Hoc Committee to the Millerstown Recreational and Park Committee to oversee the
improvements and management of the pool. The Pool Pals are Marcy Tharp, Committee Chair; George Miller,
Treasurer; Tessa Hinterliter, Secretary; Debby Mullen, Sharon Powley, Karen Gelnett , and Karin Getz. The goals of
the committee are to explore avenues for increasing revenues, volunteer time to help with the management of the pool
and overseeing of maintenance, and to create a budget for the pool. A three year plan has been drawn up and details
the long term goals needed to improve and keep the pool in good working order.
Currently the committee is working on creating and organizing fundraisers to repair and run the pool once it is
opened. Should the funds fall short for opening in summer 2017, the pool will close one year for renovations and
continued fund raising. There was a painting event in October with another to be held on December 3, 2016, at 12:00
noon at the Millerstown Fire Hall. A 50/50 raffle was held on November 19, 2016 near the Stitch in Time. Currently,
Committee members are selling Gertrude Hawk candy bars as an ongoing activity. Upcoming is a Gun/Cash
Raffle and on December 10, 2016, during the Christmas in Millerstown event, there will be a Chinese auction for
interesting and fun baskets of goodies. This will be set up near the Juniata Valley Bank in the square. At the next
meeting fundraisers for 2017 will be planned.
ALL HELP IS WELCOME!
If anyone is interested to help in any way, please call or text Marcy Tharp at 717-422-2322. Volunteers are needed
now and for the future of the pool. Monetary help is also welcomed. Should anyone care to make a tax exempt
donation, a check can be made out to 'Millerstown Recreational Committee/Pool' and sent to P.O. Box 197,
Millerstown, PA 17062.
Please be sure to find us on Facebook and join the group: Save the Millerstown Pool. Photos, updates, and
reminders of meeting times will be posted.

@posse PPL repairs the street lights. Get the address or intersection of said light. There us even a set of numbers on the pole that looks something like:
12345
S12345

That will help them find it and fix it.
