"Oh, duh, it is a story about COLLEGE. There is where the sex and booze factor in! :P"

I start college in about 8 months. Dear moon, is this going to be the norm for me as well? O_o

If I had no self respect or respect for women, I'd totally be a womanizer. Just saying. Luckily I have both. But god damn, there are so many hot chicks in this country!

"Maybe I shouldn't have quoted Machiavelli so much in my third and final essay..."

Ah, Machiavelli! One of the people that I actually respect in life. He and Tesla are something of models of mine.

Politics and booze results in democracy.
Politics and sex results in monarchy.
Politics and religion results in bull shit.

Sex and politics results in weird family.
Sex and booze results in happy nights.
Sex and religion....sounds disturbing....wait! no. JC, is that you?

Booze and politics results in a party.
Booze and sex results in kids.
Booze and religion results in stand up comedy jokes....or some Christian thing where they try to get you wasted on Sunday mornings.

Religion and sex results in a disturbing marriage.
Religion and booze results in Sunday mornings.
Religion and politics never get together. Period.

Hehe. I never went the fraternity route, but my cousin (year ahead of me) and several of my friends were brothers of a few. Every weekend I was on at least one 'list', if I cared to go out. Honestly though, that scene got a bit tired even by the end of my first year.

The funny thing about the War and Morality class was that I actually wasn't arguing against war. Not precisely. I was just arguing against trying to justify it in some theoretical and/or philosophical framework. People are going to find cause to fight, it is human nature, and any rules that are set are going to be arbitrary and largely unenforceable. The victors write the history, as they say.

I agree with your views and good for you to have the balls to start them even after your first easy went over so well.

I went to a local community college so no real college drinking for me but its all good.. my brother had me going to frat parties when i was still in HS. He really was the best influence on me.

They are easily confused. One often concerns the other, and vice versa. :P

I took a class on 'War and Morality" in college. We covered such things as Just War Theory, which dealt with causes for war (casus belli), just reasons to go to war (jus ad bellum), and just actions while in war (jus in bello). It was all fine and good, until I wrote my first essay. Within, I said, in a nutshell: "War kills people and breaks things. As an economist, I feel this is highly irrational behavior to waste physical and human capital in such a way. Trying to justify the irrational seems counter productive." I had many examples and such, but you can imagine how well that went over. ;)

In my next essay I took issue with the concepts of 'innocents' and 'non-combatants'. I brought up 5-year old girls with bombs strapped their chest and weapons researchers in labs far from the front lines as counter examples. The teacher was unamused.

Maybe I shouldn't have quoted Machiavelli so much in my third and final essay...

Edit:
Yeah, I don't know where sex and booze factor into my story either. It is just the first thing that popped into my head.

Edit2:
Oh, duh, it is a story about COLLEGE. There is where the sex and booze factor in! :P
