Hi everyone. Just a quick message to let you know that I have updated the Nibbles (News) page of the Word Cafe website. There is a lovely photo of Adrienne there with some of her books. With luck, we might have some one act plays come out of the workshop. Give the participants pokes of encouragement! If any plays materialise I'm sure the authors would be happy to share them with you.

Hi Everyone,
I've uploaded to Dropbox a number of one act plays and other information to help us prepare for our next meet up on Sunday 14 September 2014. Please let me know if you didn't get the invitation to the folder 'One Act Plays' in Dropbox and I'll resend it. Also please share other plays you like. I've tried to post a range to appeal to different preferences but my range is still rather limited and only one female playwright :-(

Hi everyone. Screnziers news page in the Word Cafe has been updated if you would like to go and have a look. I don't know who gets these messages so I will probably send this advice via email as well. Pardon the duplication. Cheers!

Hi Em, I can get the VeggieMama site ok so it looks like you're being redirected.
If it's malware I hope you can get rid of it. So annoying!
VeggieMama does look good. Got my eye on one of their breakfast items already.
But their webmaster needs to have a look at the home page of their site... it has text that shouldn't be there!

Source sounds delicious! I can't tell about VeggieMama - for some reason their website keeps redirecting me to a spam site. (I take it no one else is seeing that? I hope my computer doesn't already have malware on it, when I only did a fresh install of Windows a week ago...)

Hi everyone. Sounds great to me! VeggieMamma sounds so cute! But Northbridge would be convenient.
Yes, someone else should probably choose Jehni... but you come up with such interesting options!

Breakfast / brunch on Saturday sounds pretty darned good to me. How about everyone? Shall we do something central ? I've googled a few interesting options (links below) but Tim, Amy .. or anyone else know of some good options? It's about time someone else chose!

Source Foods - Northbridge

VeggieMamma - Mt Lawley

Looking forward to seeing you Em .. and we'll have more chats about the car situation then!

And (as those of you who are my Facebook friends already know) we won Best Setting! http://xyzzyawards.org/?p=273

But this post is mainly to say I am going to be in Perth during the Easter long weekend. It will be a flying visit, probably just Friday night, but if people were free and interested in doing breakfast on Saturday morning or something like that, it might work?

Also - Jehni, any news on the car front? :)

Thanks for the congratulations!

Adrienne, what happens if you try this link? http://www.rcveeder.net/if/robinorchid/play.html

That should let you play the game in your web browser. You'll have to press any key to continue after you read the intro text, and then you'll get a description of the first location and a space to type commands.

If it doesn't work, what goes wrong, and which browser(s) have you tried?

Hi Emily,
Congrats on the nomination! I wish you and Ryan well.
Thanks for the links. I did go and have a look and there are some interesting looking games there.
That was interesting about Coloratura. Makes me want to check it out just out of curiosity!

Wonderful news that you now have the internet and therefore Skype. It would be wonderful if we could see you in person at the next catch up... but if not, then at least on line.

I've finally got an idea for the end of the story that I'm plotting for a possible NaNo story. Moira gave me the idea today... and all of a sudden it all seemed to start coming together.
It's going to be a sequel to TANDDIS... the one I wrote last year. Titled... really imaginatively.... TANDDIS2. :)

Be well and keep writing!

Great news - I now have the internet connected, so I should be able to Skype into our next meeting. Assuming I don't happen to be in Perth anyway, of course! I'll probably be coming up on one of the long weekends in April. Maybe.

Also, Ryan's and my game, Robin & Orchid, was nominated for two Xyzzy Awards (the small-town interactive fiction equivalent of the Oscars), for Best Setting and Best Implementation! Voting is currently ongoing (the organisers request that you not vote unless you have played a reasonable number of the nominees, however) and the results will be announced early in April. The nominees are literally all excellent (not true of every year, or even most years) so it's worth having a look at them. You'll notice that Coloratura has already won Best Player Character, by virtue of having SO MANY first-round votes that it completely swamped any other nomination! The entire list of nominees is here http://xyzzyawards.org/?p=261 and this http://ifdb.tads.org/viewlist?id=6n4iucezv5elyv57 is a list that actually links to the games so you can play them.

Hi everyone. I know you've seen the photos already but I thought I'd let you know that they are now in Word Cafe, in the Screnziers latest news section. It was great to see everyone at the catch up.
Good for you, Adrienne, I hope you get a lot out of Camp NaNo when it comes up.
Lovely to hear your news too Lois. Those workshops sound interesting. I am looking forward to hearing about them.

Hi Everyone,

Today I signed up for Camp NaNo in April. This time it's much more flexible and includes script frenzy and self identified word count, etc. I've even added my novel and have begun planning for April! I learned a lot in November and expect to learn much again._______________Adrienne Huber :-)“Learning without thought is labour lost” (Confucius)"How do you explain school to a higher intelligence?"
