Night 2 ends with Keirathi in pieces (loved the bit about the friendship bracelet). Really, that was the only course of action for the scum team after having their kill blocked by the medic Night 1. Kier had made a will for his mason buddy Night 1 (which should become a standard for masons everywhere IMO), which Shady immediately posted in thread, making himself confirmed town. His reads were a bit off, but the towncred he gave to Shady was invaluable for the rest of the game.

Alan RB'd Mordanis, who didn't claim in thread. That was kind of weird, and worked out well(ish) for the scumteam later on in the game.

GoodKarma: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewpost.php?post_id=15688838 > Be very careful while analyzing voting patterns with respect to time. It's far more important to look at why people voted rather than when. You have to remember that people are only on for a small portion of the day. Also, many times townies will bandwagon just to make sure the lynch goes through. Mislynches are often times better than no-lynches.

JingleHell: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewpost.php?post_id=15682271 > As per üsh (think first syllable of usual, the way Barney Stinson would do it. also, this QT needs more HIMYM), JH jumps into the game accusing someone. It's not a bad case either. I really didn't like Shady's post count post earlier in the game. This is a great way to establish innocence early on, especially as a replacement.

So Day 2 comes to an end, and Promethelax is lynched by the town. Compared to later days, there's almost no discussion about this lynch at all. 6 hours before the lynch, most of the town had yet to vote. This kind of inactivity kills towns.

As I mentioned before, I was very impressed with the scum team for pulling off this lynch. So many scum teams are content to sit back and lynch whoever the town wants to lynch. Instead, this team sat down and figured out who they wanted to lynch, and went out and did it. This was excellent scum play, and something which the town never managed to punish them for. Good work, guys.

Alan133: -beepboop- > HOPE THIS WERKS

e: didn't. I don't know how to link to other QT posts T_T

At any rate, the lynch on Promethelax was actually a bandwagon done by the scum. Alan had been very carefully reading the thread looking for potential blues, and found Prom (he thought he was the doctor). I have to say, Alan's play here is pretty impressive. He actually pegged Sandy as a mason before he knew there was a mason in the game, and correctly read that we have no DTs this game. Really impressive play.

I had wondered how the Promethelax went ahead with almost nothing behind it, and this is it. The scum team planned to use this lynch as a bluesnipe. I can't imagine what would have happened if Prom had rolled blue. What a game that would have been.

ALAN, YOU BETTER NOT GO ANYWHERE.

Post in question is Reference [1], linked in the first post of the Scum QT.

GoodKarma: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewpost.php?post_id=15673939 > This is really the first case posted against Promethelax, who is to be lynched by the end of the day. His first point is Prom's response to GK's response to the Night post. @prom: That's just flavor, not a scum tell. THIS IS A GAME :P . GK is right in pointing out that that is a poor excuse for scumhunting. (TBC)

Obvious: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewpost.php?post_id=15662306 > Obvious brings some good voting analysis here in this post, accusing two of the three scum in a single post. In general, the scum avoid stacking their votes on a single target, especially on Day 1. (In this game, Zork voted Golbat, DP voted Mordanis, and alan voted Shady.) While voting patterns won't prove that someone is scum, it's still a good place to look, especially when the vote looks the way it did in this game (7 on Golbat, 3 on Shady...).

e: Just read the ending to that post: "This tells me nothing of either of them individually but leads me to believe that they are not necessarily of the same alignment." You have to be really careful with connections before flips.

it's not so much that he shouldn't, more that i don't think it's a problem that he didn't.

hmm i dunno. maybe it's just a pride thing for me. Because I don't know what claiming vigi actually changes in that scenario. Because they either believe you're townie, whether you're vigi or not, or they don't, so claiming shouldn't really make a difference. It's not like you've had time to breadcrumb anything yet.

I claimed vigi in movie when I was up for lynch, but only to remove wifom. In hindsight i wish i hadn't, and left it right until the end of the day, because i escaped the lynch coz I argued like fuck, not because of the claim.

anyway. mayyyyybe he could have claimed. but i don't see it as that bad that he didn't either.

anyway get on with catching up you lazy bastard :D

Absolutely agree with you there, just haven't gotten that far yet. I'M SO BEHIND.

I'm interested why you think Golbat shouldn't have claimed Vig. Feel like expanding on that a bit?

yeah holding RB night 1 is kinda interesting. Dunno how optimal it is.

You should point out that Mordanis should have claimed his RB. This would have helped townie Jingle the next cycle.

Great save by Ange. She breadcrumbed her saves, and if scum were looking hard they could have found her crumbs (always just before day post).

Also, I think it was fine for Golbat not to claim.

Night 1: Ange pulls off a hero save and protects Kier. This is probably one of the highlights of the game, right here. Pretty sure I fist pumped (sorry, scum team, I root for town :) ). Scum decided to hold the RB, which actually ends up (almost) working out for them in the long run. They RB Mord N2 (who doesn't claim) and JH N3 (who no one believes). Holding the RB keeps the town in the dark, which works well to the scum's advantage later on in the game.

Marv, how the heck do you fail at that XD

Also, right click the post number > copy link works fine.

ALRIGHT, way too lazy to finish readin Day 1, so I'll skip to the fun part. THE LYNCH. Golbat, the vigilante was lynched Day 1. As a note, only one of the three scum in this game was on the wagon (Zorkmid). Everything else was the town's doing. I have no idea why Golbat didn't claim before the lynch. It might not get you out of the lynch (TL towns love to lynch dem blues), but it gives the town more information to work with, which always puts them at an advantage.

Food for thought: the fact that he didn't roleclaim might have inadvertently put the town in a better position. If the town had called off his lynch, there's a good chance that Shady (mason) would have been lynched instead. Scum had an RB this game, so there was zero chance of him getting off his shot and hitting a scum. Of course, there's no way to know that at this stage in the game. Even though having Golbat lynched was better for the town, there's no way for the town to know that and act accordingly. Town got lucky.
