Start with your current book name and page #.

We'll just do a generic post today. Write 10 sentences about what you are reading right now. What genre is the book (romance, sports, non-fiction, etc)? Are you enjoying the book? What do you like or dislike about it?

Keep reading on your graphic novel!

I was sick the day we did this, so I am going to journal about the current book I am reading. I am reading the The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks and I am on page 101. Since I have already seen the movie, I have a pretty good idea was is going to happen in the book. This is book is all about the romance between Beth and Logan making this a romantic fiction. The book started when Logan Thibault, a U.S Marine, found Beth's picture in the sand during his third tour in Iraq. After surviving event after event, and winning poker game after poker game, his friend Victor convinces him that this picture is a lucky charm. Logan begins to believe it himself. Once Logan returns to home to Colorado, he believes he needs to pay tribute to Beth. Once Logan and Beth meet they begin to fall in love. So far, I am enjoying this book. I am really excited to see if the book follows the movie.

I am reading Keeping The Moon by Sarah Dessen and I am on page 180. The book is fiction and so far is really good. Its about having no confidence and learning how to love yourself for who you are. Also, it is about learning how to get over the past and what happened before and to not listen to what people are saying about you. Its important to have confidence and to not let what people say about you, change who you are. Sarah Dessen is an author that I really like because she writes really good books about learning to love yourself. I think its important to have confidence and that what her books are about. I chose this book because of the author and because its one of the few that I haven't read yet by Sarah Dessen. This book is really interesting and it always makes you want to know what happened next.

I have just started the book The Ghost of Graylock by Dan Poblocki. I am only on chapter 3, page 27, so I haven't read very much yet to get a good grasp about the book. So far, I am interested in Neil's curiosity about the hospital. Right away it starts talking about how his friend and him are going to go check it out. I like how it doesn't wait 5 chapters to give a full background of his life, but it gives a little information. The genre of this book is fantasy. I like to read fantasy books such as this book because I like into the minds of other people. Its interesting to see what they come up with. This book sounded like it would be interesting because it is about a Hospital that shut down after all of it's children patients died. I don't like how the book is in 3rd person though. I like being able to know how the characters are feeling or what they are thinking, but when books are in third person, I don't get the same affect. So far, the book isn't that bad, but I want to keep reading it to find out more information.

Black Hawk Down p 183.
Black Hawk Down is a non-fiction book about the faulty operation commonly referred to as "Operation Black Hawk Down." Operation Black Hawk Down got it's name from when two helicopters (codenamed super six one and super six four) were shot down by RPGs. It is a good book, although most of it is gory. But what else can you expect from a true story about "modern warfare." I like that it has special forces (SEALs, Deltas, and ParaJumpers, or PJs) in it because they are good shots. In the book, it talked about a SEAL, who was driving, aimed his gun out the window and shot three Somalis in a row without slowing down. This book makes the Deltas seem unstoppable, but the Deltas, so far, are taking hard hits, but i'm at the part where three Delta snipers rope down to "crash site 2" where Super Six Four went down. They flew in to inspect the site and see if there is anyone still alive, and they see two people visually and know that there might be two more still alive inside. Their goal is to defend it from a massing mob so that the second convoy of HumVees and armored vehicles can get the survivors out and back to the base. I don't think they succeed. The one thing I don't like about this book is that they didn't plan for the worst, which happened, and everyone is confused, including the commanders of the Rangers and Special Forces that are at the base, watching this unfold, live.

I am reading The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks and i'm on page 31. I just started the book today and it is really good. It is kind of hard to understand whats happening sometimes because he switches from past and present life a lot. I know that it came out in the theaters last summer or a little bit before that, but i never got to see it so maybe when i get done with the book i can watch the movie. The Lucky One, is about a Marine who was stationed in Iraq and one day found a picture of girl which he considered that his good luck charm. Currently, he is trying to figure out where is lives so he can go find her. It's weird to me because he doesn't have a drivers licenses and he walks everywhere he goes. I thought that if he was in the marines he'd be able to have a car and be able to get around that way. Logan has a dog named Zeus that he is bringing with him everywhere. He doesn't know where he is going but he thinks he travels about 20 miles a day. His main reason for joining the marines was that his father use to be a marine so he thought that it would be a good idea to go in his footsteps.

I am reading The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. It is a fiction novel, and though I'm just beginning it, I feel it could also be classified as a romance. I like this book so far. The introduction was kind of long, but it was interesting. It didn't drag on and mean absolutely nothing. I thought the background information Sparks wrote was easy to continue reading since it told a story rather than just facts being compiled together. I like the way Sparks writes in this novel as well as others he has written. The book tells about both Travis and Gabby's lives from their own perspective. In some books, this can be confusing and annoying, but it's well written. It's obvious who is thinking/speaking at the start of each chapter. I haven't found anything I don't like about the book so far.

I am currently reading A Royal Pain and I am on page 35.
My book is romance. In the first few pages the author is setting up the plot and lets out a big secret for one of the main characters. So far I read about a women that works in New York City that has no intentions of finding love anytime soon. She says that she is 90% focused on work and 10% on seducing someone. But when she walks into a friends party, their is one guy that has caught her eye and she caught his. She doesn't know that he is from London, England and that he is a Duke. She happens to over hear the conversation of "this guy" and that he wants to marry her and that he is a Duke. When she gets home from that night, her mind is going crazy on thoughts. She is not sure that she wants the every girls reality to be a princess.

I am reading Just Listen and I am on page 216.
This book is a romantic fiction that I certainly am enjoying. The reason I chose this book is because it's music based and it relates to me a lot because I listen to music almost 24/7. The book is about a girl named Annabel who lives the life of a teenage model. She goes through some tough times with her friend Sophie and her sister having an eating disorder. She starts to hang out with a very tall boy named Owen Armstrong and he is a radio DJ and is a music guru. I am enjoying this book because it relates to me easily, such as using my iPod as a sense of release and lets me realize that everything is going to be okay. What I like about this book is that it gives teenage girls a very important message that at least everyone should know. Although tough time are with us now, friends who stick together can help each other overcome these times. To be honest, I don't think there is anything that I dislike about this book, it just pulls me in from the beginning and keeps me there. This book is one that I will truly enjoy till I am done with it, and I think I will read more of Sarah Dessen's books.

I am reading Sent because I finished Found and I stopped on page 34. Sent and Found are the same since they are in a series together. They are both mystery fiction. I enjoyed Found and am enjoying Sent. Both of these books are very well written and the characters are very believable. I couldn't put Found down and having a hard time not reading Sent. There really isn't anything that I don't like about these books. The plot is really amazing and well written. I loved the book Found and that's why I started reading Sent as well. More than likely I will be reading the rest of the series when I finish Sent.

I am reading The Mark of Athena and today I stopped on page 434. The genre of the book is sort of science-fiction, but more of mythology in it. I like the book a lot so far. I read the first two books in the series, so I felt I had to read this one too. Rick Riordan, the author, always writes books that are interesting to me. He uses great description of characters and other monsters and things in the book. There is a lot of suspense that always makes me want to keep reading. I don't really dislike anything about the book. It's really interesting, easy to follow along with, and has a lot of action. That is one reason why I like his books. They contain a lot of action in them, and I like that.
