Mine was fear. Did not want to get sick from the vaccine. My arm is sore and I slept 12 hours today. In general did not feel well but tolerable. I'm glad I did it. No regrets. Thanks Nancy. Good to hear how all went well.

I had my covid vaccinations back in March, Pfizer variety. No ill affects at all, slightly sore arm about like a flu shot. All the residents and staff at my senior independent living apartment complex were vaccinated so we have had no covid problems at all in about 200+ people. And Texas as a whole has continued to be a fairly hot spot of infections. All my family in every branch including teenagers are vaccinated, which gives us a good feeling about getting together. I really can't imagine all the resistance to vaccines.

Jan and Mary, feel better soon.
As of last night Jessica and Charlie were feeling a bit better.
I'm actually sleeping at night. That's a big one for me. I got my 1st Covid vaccine yesterday. Nothing like a good scare to move your butt along. I feel fine no I'll affects so far.
Good to hear from Mary. As Don said good to hear a tiny bit than not at all.

Hi, everybody. Debi, I have referred to and bragged up and promoted this site and the H&J Project many times. So far, none have been deleted. One nay-sayer tried to say the project was unnecessary, which opened the door wide for a full explanation and sample of the project. So far, other comments have been nothing but positive!

Good morning everyone. I actually went to bed and slept last night. Trying to get back on a normal schedule.
Thank you Debi. I can't say any posts about this site have been deleted. Many have commented on how wonderful this site is. And I read them days later sometimes.
Everything here remains the same. Everyone holding their own.
Time for a SALT OF THE DAY, I won the rectangle Mt WASHINGTON from the Jeffery Evans auction. So I get to add it to the family.

Lynda, I don't mind, but don't be surprised if it gets deleted. I don't know if anyone has posted any links lately but they used to get deleted. Seems to me a link to the H&J Project page would be better than just one image but I don't care one way or another.

Susie P, thank you. Just found out both girls + for covid. But thank you Lord, they feel fine.
Well everyone, hope you are fine. Stay that way. I can't take any more.
Debi, I'd like your permission to show one of our finished pages on the F B salt forum. Jan and I mention the project, explain the project, but I'd like people to see what I'm talking about. The fact we show all the views makes for a excellent statement. Would that be O K with you? Do NOT worry if it is not ok? I just think they need a taste of what they are missing. Though, I have seen positive comments from people that have gone in and seen the project.
Alright, happy note. SALT OF THE DAY, just got this sweet little salt. Thought it was in H/J but can't find it, still love it.
Take care everyone. It is still dangerous out there.

My grand daughter's got covid tested yesterday but no report back yet. They are feeling fine. Jessica is doing well. Headache and G I upset but no lung problems. She is on her way to E R with her husband. He is not doing so well. I'm scared for him. Will we ever be out of the woods with this virus?

Hi everybody. Hi Jan, my personal search engine. Hope everyone is doing well.
It would appear my daughter is going to be like my son with the covid symptoms. So far regular flu like symptoms. No respitory problems as yet. Charlie, Jess' husband, very sick. Lungs full but he is better. I love the medical info Jess is getting from her hospital. The nurses tell her she can't come back til she has 2 negative tests. Infection control told her after 10 days she is no longer communicable and can come back to work then. Even Shands is confused. Lolololololol, so far, I'm fine.

Lynda, you should be o.k. since symptoms surely would have shown up by now since your visitors were there on the 22nd. It's awful when family members who haven't had shots risk exposing family members who have health issues. I think we have to speak up and protect ourselves if other family members don't do it for us.

Our government is a disaster in so many ways. I'm not sure if they are sniffing glue or high on cocaine. I remember a time when the government had honor. Even Nixon wasn't this bad. Very sad. Yet, I have to say, America is still the best place to live.... except maybe for Norway and Sweden.
Thank you Debi, I do not want it for sure. Very scary. Not sure how I'd weather it between my Congestive Heart Failure and Diabetes. So, big time hoping I don't get it.

It does not help reduce the virus by the government shipping Covid positive illegals all over the country. They are sabotaging the country into more lockdowns, closed schools, and permanently wearing masks that probably do very little unless they are surgical masks. Hope you don't come down with it too Lynda, but unless you have severe health issues, this newer strain is supposed to be not that bad.

   Hi, everyone.
Nancy V, yes they are different. I was so excited thinking they were all the same. Bummer. I'm glad Jan and Debi have such good eyesight and knowledge. Helped a lot.
I'm now scared to death. My daughter and son-in-law are Covid +. They were here at the house July 22 for a very short time but...... not much to be done now. What gets confusing is... you can still get covid even if you've had your shots. Even if you've had 'active' covid before. Now there is a different strain and authorities are back to having everyone wear masks. Not manditory.... yet. But here in Alachua County, the numbers of covid+ are rising. Damn virus just won't quit.
My SALT OF THE DAY, Vallerysthal salts. I have it in the light blue clear glass but can't find it to put in picture. Now that's frustrating.
I Hope all of you are doing well, feeling better. Stay safe out there. Conyiue to wear your darned masks cause it just is not safe. Love you all.

I use my tiptoes on my left foot. Just about everything I could sell would need to be washed before pictures from the dust on open shelves. Once I can stand a bit better I will have Larry list more.

Hi everyone. Hope you are all doing well.
Debi, the notice says the salt arrived on the 19th. I must have not gone to the mail box til 3-4 days ago. I don't go everyday. Sometimes I forget to go. So not so long. But you are right about strange amount of time it takes some packages to get here. I am not a fan of our postal system anyways. I get a lot thru the mail and many of my packages arrive in very bad shape. I am totally in love with this thistle salt. Thankyou. You pack like the box is going to go thru WWII. Which may be true. By the way, how's your foot?
Another big raining thunderstorm today. I can't remember this much rain down here ever. Use to be a shower in late afternoon then back to sunshine. Not anymore, all day rain.

Lynda, I can't believe it took 12-13 days for USPS to get that delivered. Did you by any chance track it during shipping? Larry always ships same or next day depending on if the mail truck has been by yet. USPS cries that it loses money constantly but have you seen what happens to packages after they are shipped? That last triangle salt I bought went from Israel to New York after a week in Israel. Not USPS fault, but after that it was a total joke. It went from NY to some city in Illinois, then down to Memphis, TN for a few days. Then it went to Chicago and finally into the Detroit area. Even that can take several days because they transfer things from Allen Park to Pontiac to Detroit before it finally gets to Troy. Larry just had a similar experience with a watchband he bought. Can't remember the exact cities it visited now but it was way off track for over two weeks. Now take one or two packages and multiply it by millions that get shifted unnecessarily from one city way off track to another. That's where they lose their money. Trucks loaded with packages that should have never been where they were in the first place. Gas prices up. And how many get lost that way? But no worries, just raise the rates again. Anyone remember the early eBay days? $3.00 for that Priority Mail box that was perfect for a salt or two and it was at the destination in 3 days. Now it's nearly $10.00 for the crappiest service ever.

Kemple Glass moved to the Old Gill Glass Works in Kenova, West Virginia, following a fire at its East Palestine plant in 1956. When John E. Kemple died in 1970, the company was sold and production ended in Kenova. Geraldine Kemple sold over 800 molds to the Wheaton Historical Association, New Jersey...From an internet search for Kemple glassworks. So these were made by Kemple or Wheaton. Obviously, the one with the Kemple label was made by Kemple.

I think we talked about this lable before and I believe we thought it was a name of the gift shop and not the maker. ??? It says, hand made by John E Kemel's Glassworks, Kenova, West Virginia. Do you think that's a glass maker?

Lynda, I know Kemple Glass made some of the round ones with pictures in the bottom. JFK was one image and I think a moose or elk also, probably others. They might have made the plain ones too.

Joan, here's exactly what was posted on the EAPGS Facebook group about the square ones: Initially by Crescent Glass of Wellsburg, WV in the old Riverside factory. Continued production as the company morphed into Brooke.

Joan, Hi, how are you? So nice to hear from you.
Thank you for the information. I hope no one minds rehashing old info. Here we go.... Lolololol, now my next question is did Brooke or Cresent make the round ones too? Have I forgotten we figured that one out also? I'm betting they are ashtrays also.

Replacements.com shows a version of that square hobnail, as an ashtray, attributed to Brooke Glass Company with a pattern code number. See attached link. Along with Crescent Glass this may be another company that produced these and why Judy found so many different versions. Confirms your theory Debi that the most likely intended purpose of these were ashtrays and not salts.

The dentist finally came to my house for a final bite impression. After a month of waiting, I expect I will have bottom teeth in a week. Sick of pudding and yogurt! I need to eat something I can chew. I am grateful that the dentist is willing to come to my home, though.

Debi, thank you. The only thing I remember is Joan calling the Fenton brothers on QVC. I think we discussed that in a post. That catalog picture, those are the strangest ashtrays I've ever seen. I went to EAPG site to correct myself but couldn't find the post. Central Glass and they are ashtrays. I got it now.

I remember those hobnail pieces used as ashtrays in homes of my parents' friends when I was a kid. I've always thought of them as ashtrays rather than salts, probably because of those memories and because there are so few square salts.

Nice to see a new/old collector, Randa.

Here is the glass case and some of the salts a friend who was a small collector gave me when she was moving. None of the salts are extraordinary, but many pretties. I especially loved a triangular Orrefors cut glass, on the right on the top shelf. Really nice case too, the type that stores often used to display since it can be locked. Such a nice gesture from an old friend who knew I collected.

I will see if I can find my individual oval box in among all the clear glass boxes and see if I have the missing salt. Jan would have put a tag in it with it name on it so knowing if I do or not will be easy. Good morning everyone. The weekend is here again. Some days seem to go by quickly. This was one of those weeks.
All is well. My youngest son has completed his 8 day kayak trip on a river in Montana. Every year, he and former Boy Scout leaders take a river trip and camp along the river banks. Last year had to be postponed. I was happy they were able to succeed this year. My problem was that there was no ability to communicate during the trip. But he assured me they had an emergency radio and one of the guys was a doctor. All went well and he is sharing amazing photos.

Lynda, I didn't bash my toes. I cut skin off too deeply with the razor tool I use for calluses. It's on the side of my foot just above the heel. Sucker wouldn't stop bleeding for an hour and now every time I put any weight on it it starts bleeding again. Been putting antibiotic cream and new bandaids daily. At some point I will have to uncover it so it can get some air but I don't want it to dry out too quickly and leave a scar.

Lynda, Yes that's Larry's store. That was listed several weeks ago, back when Nancy V bought the Crider one. I just told Larry the other day I need to sell more. Problem right now is most would have to be washed from sitting on the open shelving in a spare bedroom, also known as the shipping room. I especially can't be on my feet right now. I have a small gouge just above the heel on my left foot. Walking on tiptoes on my left foot is not easy. Don't ask how I did it. Wasn't paying close enough attention to what I was doing.

Good morning everyone. Have a wonderful day.

Debi is correct, we are caught between weather systems from the west and south. Our reservoirs are well over full, unusual as we are usually drier than we need. The variation in temperatures, from high 60’s to high 90’s, keeps us guessing from day to day.

I suspect that the NE US is trapped between the rainstorms coming from the west (like we have been getting here in Michigan), and the remnants of the hurricane. In other words, NJ is getting it from the west and the south. We've had on and off rain and thunderstorms for weeks and still getting them. It is summertime after all. If we didn't have the rain, we'd be complaining about it being hot and dry.

So lovely green & blue.

I got a surprise gift today. A friend who is moving into a smaller apartment called to say her granddaughter is coming to give me salts she is clearing out as she readies her things to move. I expected 2-3 salts, but the young woman arrived with a three-shelf glass case crowded with what must be about 30 some salts. None were exceptional, but I had a salt feast cleaning the case and all the salts, and I've set it up on a low chest in my bedroom and will think of Jan every time I glance at it.

Lynda, love your salts.

We have had torrential rains, branch breaking wind and temperatures that go from almost 100 degrees one or two days, and then falling into the 60’s for a few days. Very capricious and confusing. Today we are in the 70’s with on and off rain. Yesterday, torrential storms.

Hello everyone. Nancy D, question. Terrible weather.... overly hot or raining. I know rainy thunderstorms make me tired and sleepy. Sunshine down here, but typical humid hot. Still with a breeze today.
Not much to talk about. We haven't heard much from Jan on here. She likes to work in her yard like Susie P. Then she gets tired. I miss hearing from Joan. Love to see her salts. Judy posted a couple of stars and stripes. I love seeing her salts too.
Well guys, I hope all of you are well and raising hell. Here is my salt of the day. I dearly love opalescent glass.

Doing fine, Lynda. I was thinking I wasn't making any progress, but a visit from my home PT showed significant improvement from a week ago in how far I could walk without tiring. That's the main goal I have now, being to walk far enough to get around the apartment complex for some activities and out to my car to drive again.

L have always loved these little glass bulbous salts with metal feet, rims and spoons. I never had a colored one, just opalescent white.

Hi everyone, hope everybody is doing well. Nancy D, how'd it go with Elsa? Any storm problems?
Linda, you make me laugh. I've camped in both plus a pop-up. The camper is nice but I found we stayed inside and to me camping is for outdoor enjoyment. I like the tent as it forces me to be out in the fresh air. Can be difficult in the rain though. The tents today are pretty neat. We even watched Netflix on the tablet. I'm too old now for any of it. But it can be very relaxing.
Nothing new here. Need to take pictures of salts. Here's my salt of the day. My favorite ..... Celery set. I'm not sure it's for celery. It is smaller than my other Celery sets. Radish sets/ fruit sets are round. Maybe this one is for cucumbers???

Hi everyone. I've gotten a ton of water from the hurricane. My porch is about 3 inches above ground and there is standing water just beyond it. The ground is saturated. There is a ditch just beyond the apts, about 7 feet away. It is full of water. If that over flows my porch and apt will have water in it. I didn't sand bag as it has never been a problem before. I may regret that decision. I am thankfull we still have electricity.

Hi everyone. So far no huricane weather as yet. Maybe tomorrow. I don't get all upset like my son in law does. He is all shook up. Course he is 40 miles closer to the coast than I am. My feeling is...,what can I do? Not owning a home makes a lot less worries. I remember my Mom, who lived in Golf Shores, ALA. She had to drag in plants, lawn furniture, put up window protectors. That was very hard as she got older.
Thank you Mary for trying to figure out the high rise salt. To me it looks like a trophy. I love your fishes. Very happy little fellows. You are selling a Davidson? What Davidson. Judy which one is it. I love Davidsons and I'm nosey.

Morning everyone. Spent last night hanging on to two kitties explaining to them that the world was not erupting and we were all going to die...... Poor babies.

Nancy V, I have in my possessions 3 or 4 multiples of ones listed as rare in the book. Many have lost their status, though there are some still very rare and unique ones out there.

I have to tell you, I am so tired of salts everywhere. My house is over run with them. This purging is taking far too long and I am ready to just pack them all up and send them off to any auction house I can. I won't, but that is where I am at. Oh well.......

Hi everyone. I went looking for any of those Battersea salts but they are all gone. Then I read the posts. Congratulations Susie. The pictures below of the small ones are very pretty. I have one and very happy to have it.
It's raining again today. Very weird, cloudy rainy days for 2 weeks. A big problem in Fl is or are, Water Oaks. They are oak trees with shallow roots. In our Sandy soil that's bad. As we get wetter they start to tip over. With the hurricane coming, a lot of trees will be down. Bad for the electric wires.
It seems everyone is doing better, feeling better. I'm glad. Happy forth to everyone.
