We did have a lot of discussion and pictures of that type of lacy with and without the handles but it was probably over a year ago and it's gone now. There's a blip about it in the 2nd national newsletter on the last page. I think the pink and blue ones are easily recognizable as the AA Import ones but the clear one is harder to tell old from new. Linda's looks like RD 19, but the repros have the grid bottoms also. I don't remember if the repros look like RD 19 or RD 27 and 28.

Mary,

So many friends praying for you and thinking of you, and when you regain your strength praying your drs. Can come up with another plan to help! The new bed sounds good; you need to be able to get some good sleep! Hugs to you!

We were down south, Mississippi and Tennessee etc. and the flooding is just unreal! These storms have caused such havoc everywhere all across the country; so much for folks to deal with!

Off to take Harley for a walk, hugs all!

Glad you are safe Linda - Nature can be so scary and destructive - Prayers to those truly affected by this last storm -

I am not going to have the surgery - Dr. said it was too intense and I was currently too weak - It would take two days to do it because there would be a side entry and a back entry and then a year for me to totally recover - I am sending you each a personal e-mail to explain the changes in my life - I just want to thank Everyone for their prayers - They have had an impact and have worked - I am grateful and once again truly Blessed -

Well Sue - other than tramps passing by - we have the board to ourselves - It is good to be Godesses and rule the Chat Board Universe --

So This is half of the silver rims I found in England - The first batch has more variety but are already crammed in on a shelf - I will see if I can get some out and show you --

I have had two days with my care giver and she is great - We are like twins in our lives and living - I can do this - Even this soon she is not a stranger in my house and I have been out to dinner and also went to the collectors show I used to sell at - Oh so many hugs and smiles - The afternoons have gone so quickly and seven comes too soon - But also I am tired by seven - Just don't want the party to end - Now to get some work done and do some catching up - I have new care giver for today to take me bed shopping - I have not been able to sleep in my bed for almost 2 weeks - Am tired of the short love seat - So off to get a bed that raises me head and or feets and then tosses me out of the bed in the morning - Also very soft mattress - So far so good and good for me physically and mentally - Crap - I may make a come back after all -

Starting next week I will only have Robin - Monday 10 - 4 and then Tuesday and Wednesday 2 - 7 - Of course if something comes up I can request additional help -- Tomorrow will tell me a lot as it is my appointment with the neurosurgeon --

Well Linda - probably should leave some space available for the hobos

I was told that the app that lets spamers use a local number was developed for police so when they call someone it doesn't show up as the police, or their personal number.
then the spamers got ahold of it

I get dozens of spam emails every day. I didn't get one that supposedly came from Mary. They will do anything they can to get your attention. I get so many that say they have been trying to get in touch with me. Or I need to claim my Starbucks, Amazon, Walmart, Walgreen's, etc $50 gift cards. Yeah right! This week we'd been getting phone calls that come from our own name and phone number. First time I answered it because I thought Larry was calling. It was a recorded message from "Microsoft" that our ISP had been compromised by several foreign countries and they needed to guide us through changing it. I hung up before the message finished. About five calls later I answered and pressed the number to speak with a technician. I screamed at the guy with the Eastern Indian accent that I wasn't falling for their scam, take our number off their list because we are on the Do Not Call List, and that he should be ashamed of himself. Then I hung up. No more calls. It's getting really bad. Before you know it, we'll be bombarded with campaign phone calls again.

Mary, hopefully everything will be fixed soon,my fingers cross for you. With all these idiots that try and get on this board, maybe it is better if no one puts their last name when you post, just a first name and maybe a initial to distinguish you.
There are so many grubs out there these days. I keep getting emails to say I have won a voucher etc from well known stores here. Strange though I have never shopped there. I always have a look where the email came from, you can usually tell it is a scam. It is a worry if they used Mary’s last name. There is a lot of garbage that is supposed to come from the shark tank here, using well known names and photos. Offering free samples of face cream, just pay for postage. When you give details for postage you then start getting charged exorbitant amounts for the cream each month. When I read the details I did not proceed, but it was enough for them to get a email address. They then sell your email address, so that is one way you get weird emails and offers. A lot of places, even legit ones, apparently sell email addresses so be very wary.

Mary, and all our friends. Mary, your email has been hacked. I supposedly got an email from you with the words, “Mary wants you to know” and a link. It also said, to everyone. With everything that has been going on, I thought it was an important message that you didn’t want on this public site. Turns out it was a bogus Shark Tank recommendation for KETO. I don’t think it did any damage, but everyone should be aware.

Had a standing visit already with my pain doctor early this morning - Saw her and went immediately over to get x-rays -

Back to chatter with everyone and give ya'll individual thanks for caring - but - I know this is strange - I have a salt question - well more directly a silver mark question - You all know silver is most of my collection - Though I am not a big gotta have every Gorham piece - I do have some that I treasure - I have always "known" that Gorham's lion faces backwards and only faces backwards never faces forward as all other marks show - Backward lion = Gorham -- Does anyone know if there is a Gorham mark with the lion facing forward - like maybe in thier "coin" pieces -- Helps me please --

Mary several years back I had pain in my right hip so bad I thought I had broken it. I went to an ER at a local orthopedic hospital and had several X-Rays. Long story short I have Arthritis and was told I would need a hip replacement at some point. But…I have to wait until I’m older to cut the risk that I will not need a second replacement after 12 years or so. Also now have bad knees, but I’m getting by with my daughter’s assistance.

As soon as I get my house back together, it flooded from a slab leak in the concrete foundation, I’m going to have the IMac worked on so I can use the internet and E-mail right again. On the way to Home Depot now to get a wood flooring sample.

Mary try to get on an Anti-inflammatory..........

So the extending route the house of cards my body has decided to become - Yesterday morning I was walking and my hip made a cracking noise and I was frozen in pain - When I could breath again - I tried to move and the left side was beyond stubborn - Called a friend and she came and took me to The Urgent care facility at Grossmont Hospital - Top notch hospital - They had a two hour wait and I said I could not wait two hours - I need an X-ray - So she called their Care Center and they had no one waiting - The Care Center is new and very few people know about it and it is still on the Grossmont campus - Very nice and had three different medicals ask me questions - Poke on me while I screamed and then turned me over to the doctor - Doctor said she felt I needed xrays and so was referring me to the ER - We asked her to check the ER for waiting time - 41 people ahead of me - So we decided to come back closer to home and go to Alvarado Hospitals ER - No one waiting - Checked in right a way and then sat there in the little curtained bed area - and sat there - I was not told to put on the hospital gown - I was not secured in the bed with rails up - No one took my blood pressure - We just sat - Then a brand new PA came in and asked a ton of questions and gave me the strength tests and then started to poke on me - I screamed in pain and the kind young man stopped - He went out and said the doctor would be in shortly - Have no idea what stick she had up her ..... But she was going to take it out on me - While I was telling her what had happened and why I thought I needed an X-ray she looked at her watch - Laurie said she must have looked at her watch 6 times in the about ten minutes I was abusing her available time - Then she gave me the absolutely shortest version of the strength test known in medical history - Ten she started poking - Everyone else that poked did it gently just trying to find the area - She was mean about it - The more I screamed the harder she poked - Reminded me how many times I had been to the ER and that I should just take my pain meds and tell my neurosurgeon when I saw him and started to walk out - Then turned and said I did not need Xrays because I COULD walk - if anything was broken I would not be able to walk - Duh - So now I am on the walker 100% whereas before I did not need it except for long distance walks - But hey I didn't need those x-rays -- The administrator is getting a letter as soon as I can write it without the "B" name for the doctor and a few less "F" words in it than the first draft -- Going down hill and no one seems to care - Thanks for letting me gripe - I am just so danged angry - I see the pain doctor early Thursday morning - Betcha they order X-rays ------ and not to be done at Alvarado ---

Appreciate your votes of agreement - Bobby collected old farm engine and used to be stunned that I would clean my silver pieces - well okay he was a bit more than stunned - I actually cleaned them when he was elsewhere much easier than explaining why I was NOT decreasing their value by polishing - Any who he said that farm equipment collectors liked to see the engines in their "workin' Clothes" all rusty and paint missing - I told him that the sterling I was cleaning did its work sitting on the table of a very high class family that had a separate set of servants whose only job was to put on their "workin' clothes" and polish the bee jiggers out of the silver --

Cute Janelle - Really cute - Thanks!!

We go down to the 40's at night and early morning - Now I now that is bikini weather for most of you - but remember we are thin blooded (as well as thin brained) here in Eggo Land - Fortunately I have Sherpa everything -

Oh and we also have some moisture - the weather people here are calling it rain - but trust me - it is just moisture - Though one of my tree bushes has fallen over - Quick call the news people -- Naw - I just called the gardener - and remember it was reported nationwide that Sandy Eggo had snow last week --

Off today for another freak peeking scan - I think the only part of me that has not been scanned numerous times is me head - Perhaps they should have started there before parts of my mind started to go missing - There isn't enough Calgon to take me away from this crabbydom - Wait - I think I have salts arriving today - I be cool --

I just went on the Lacey salts site, this was there and I took a screen shot, although it says one comment nothing there, maybe because you left Debi or because of glitch in Facebook. The other day I made a comment on a salt Susie posted on the Open salt site, The comment was posted, I saw it there, next time I went to read the further comments it was gone. I like reading comments on the antique site I follow, quite often there is one or two comments but when I click on it, no comments come up. Posts from 2014 are popping up, posts from friends are not appearing in my feed. I do think Debi, that there is a bunch of faults on Facebook and not an attack on you.

I know Facebook has many glitches but this was not one of them. It was not an independent comment post. Jytte welcomed me to the group. It was large type on a pink background. I thanked her as a reply and made the comment about the Neal book on my website. Even her welcome post was gone. So while I appreciate everyone hoping and wishing it was just a glitch, it was not. I searched my name for posts and there were none. I did that before I "unjoined". What would be the point of staying? If I helped anyone identify a Lacy by referring them to that page link on my website so they could actually see it, they would probably all get deleted anyway. No worries. They can use Al's book as a reference. Should be out any day now. He's been working on it for 12+ years.

J.J. reposted some so she knows what I'm talking about. Debi it is very possible it was'nt an attack on you but some glitch in the Facebook system. I have lost whole conversations and other pictures that I had just seen and were then gone. I know all my postings about your site have remained on the salt board. Here's hoping for the glitch.

Inez: Thank you, and I have looked at your various Facebook groups. I have only joined one of them because I probably have nothing to contribute to the others. That salt on the tray looks like Cambridge to me. Remarkably, as common as it is, I didn't see it in H&J. Maybe I am thinking of the square one with zippers made by Cambridge sometimes sold with a spoon. Here's a Royal Glass catalog page I have after they joined National Glass. No salt pictured, but one shaker looks just like the salt if the neck was gone. http://opensalts.us/References/Catalogs/US/USA-Royal-aW.jpg. I do not have sellers on my website any more. I have a page of dealers, but no more selling pages.

Janelle: Other websites are posted there so that's not it.

Debi, haters gonna hate. I have lived with that crap since 1989 when I blew the whistle at Hanford, thirty years and yet they persist. Please don't get rid of your reference site. I send folks to it all the time. And you know you are welcome at any of the forums I admin, and certainly welcome to post links. The only rule is we do not allow selling, so don't link the sales page. Remember once you are in any of my forums, you can join any other one by clicking to join, hitting refresh and clicking the site again. They are: Early American Pressed Glass; • Glass Made Between 1914-1928; • Glass Made in the 1940s, 1950s, 1950s; • Glass Made Between October 1929 and December 1939 • Vintage and Antique Ceramic and porcelain shakers, mustards and toothpicks; • UK & European Vintage & Antique GLASS shakers-cruets, mustards & toothpicks. I don't give trolls, bots or haters a second strike, so no worries, I am extremely responsive. I really enjoy this website, and although time flies before I am posting, I will not give up on it.

Here is an Ad from Jewelers Review 1899 Nov. 8th #103 Dewey Salt and Pepper from Carol Roop. We have come to the conclusion it is more likely Royal Glass, from about the time they joined The National Glass Combine. It is pressed. Anyone recognize the open salt?

Janelle, you are right about Facebook. Many people have been complaining about capriciously deleted posts and late postings. When I think about it, I tend to blame Facebook rather then the website. Anyway, I think Brenda could really help and I’m so happy she posted here. Debi has run a wonderful resource for all collectors and anyone can access it. I hope we all can support her in any way she needs.

To tell you the truth, I am getting fed up with Facebook. Everything changes all the time, mostly never for the better. Even now posts for 6 years ago are appearing or Facebook decides that posts from Relatives or friends do not make it onto my feed and yet I am getting nothing but adds and posts “I may like”. Also if you mention say a car in a post, suddenly I am inundated with emails etc or pop ups on my iPad about that car.

I just wonder if it was Facebook itself that deleted the post. I have seen many other people complain about posts and photos disappearing for no reason. I do not know if it is a automatic thing or done by people, it may have been a word or something that triggered the deletion.

I appreciate Brenda for posting her position on the unnecessary arguments over who should have web pages for our hobby. There is room for everyone and it’s time to contribute to all our knowledge and not try to block some sites. Brenda has always been friendly with all salt people, as far as I know. If she can make the Facebook situation better, then I welcome her help.

Hi Debi and Everyone! I just want to say that I have never had bad blood with anyone, and I'm not currently a member of any clubs. I AM, however, an administrator of both of the Open Salts Facebook pages, and honestly wasn't aware that there was any sort of drama or that posts were being deleted. (I'm not saying that it didn't happen, but this is the first I've heard of it). The few times that I've been to any of the open salts meetings, everyone was pleasant and kind to each other, and I've made tons of friends over the years (several that I've personally visited!) through buying/selling and trading salts. Maybe I'm naive or just out of loop, but ANYONE is welcome to come to the Facebook pages to chat, discuss and share. Debi, I'm not sure what's going on, but I hate seeing people being upset, especially when it's something that you love so dearly. If there's anything that I can do, without getting in the middle of what seems to be a sticky situation, please let me know.

Brenda

Debi,
You and I have talked about this situation privately many times and my heart continues to ache for you knowing that your wounds are reopened with each and every senseless occurrence perpetrated by people who are focused on bringing you down. You know my feelings. To tear apart everything that you have worked so hard to build, for all salt collectors to enjoy, will bring them great joy. Stay strong. Focus on all the friends and support you have on this board. And don’t let the haters win.

It is no fun continuing something that gives you pain. I'm not overly masacistic myself. (sorry if spelled wrong)
I dearly love your Referance pages and the monthly salt pictures. I know many people watch and enjoy all you have made available.
I wish I had magic words to heal your heart. I can't even explain the actions of others. Makes no sence. I do firmly believe if you are cruel to others your payback is harsh. To me, just not worth the hurting others for many reasons. Besides, much more fun to give laughter.
You are a joy, relax your heart and know others love you.

Thank you one and all for your comments and support. I'm just confused as to why a reference for people to find answers to their questions has been blacklisted by a few select people. They don't have the answers so what is the point of asking questions on those pages? I don't get paid for clicks to my website or anything like that. I have no idea who accesses the website or how often. And I don't have all the answers either but it's a heck of lot of information collected over the last 20+ years. All of the help and pictures from many of YOU over the years added additional references. For now, I'll restore the website and continue adding to it. As to the future of it, I'll look into it when the time comes. Perhaps another organization would host the reference section.

Well Debi - I am very sorry for the trouble and pain you have been continuing to experience for oh so many years - If I had know what our actions back then were going to lead to - I would never have been a participant - or for that fact an instigator - For it to come to this - where you have felt your only release of the pain was to remove your hard work of many years and the input of others recently is just heart breaking - I am sorry for your pain and can only pray this puts an end to it for you. Thank you for the years of newsletters - service as President of the National and for the site and its information for as long as it was available - God Bless you and give you peace my friend -

Debi... I'm mortified !!!!!
I just have no words to describe how horrible I feel about this... I check in just about every week... Yes...I'm a "lurker"... but...I LOVE you guys...one and ALL !!! I would check into "the other site" maybe once a year??? But...What the heck... we're ALL supposed to be ADULTS ?????

And even tho I was not a contributor to the new H&J... I sure did appreciate every minute you all put into it !!! In the beginning of the project I did try and contribute..but every time I tried...it seemed that someone got there before me....or better than me... or I got it wrong...soooo I yielded to those with more knowledge and went with the flow.... BUT...I STILL appreciated and admired those that did contribute and admired you Debi to the 10th degree !!!

I understood and was in awe of the techniques and knowledge that YOU had to run this WONDERFUL COMPLEX site !!!! I've been an admirer for the ??? 15 - 20 ??? years you've been doing this crazy site !!!! It had to have been a work of love to have survived so long with all the heartaches you have endured... for that I blatantly tell you I LOVE YOU and I THANK YOU !!! I wish I could have done more... THANK YOU !!!

Oh, Debi, I am so sad and devastated. I thought something was wrong when we weren’t hearing from you very often. Don’t let the turkeys get you down. We all love this site so very much and the information was invaluable. To see it all disappear is shocking. All of the Salty Comments in one place and the references were used by me and I’m sure, many others. Forgot about Facebook, I always contacted new people on their private pages to tell them about the amazing resources here. No one can prevent that. I can see you are very hurt and frustrated, and you have a right to be. But surely we somehow, together, can salvage what is no longer available. We just need direction. Please don’t give up, let us help. I am so grateful for you and all you have done.

Debi, I feel so bad for you. When is this crap going to stop. Frankly, for information, references and fun, this site is amazing and I am sure used by a lot of people who would never post nor acknowledge it. Also new collectors or others that do not know about it would find such a wealth of information in one site. It would be so so sad to have years of your and everyone else’s work disappear forever. I must say I am extremely disappointed that whoever the admins are on the Facebook site are so petty that the vindictiveness has continued. Is it only the Lacey site.? There are two sites and I thought it could be neutral ground that everyone could contribute to. I have no idea how to help but willing to do anything I can.
Surely Jytte would never condone something like that.

Here's the deal. Most of you know all about the crap that went on YEARS ago. I have not talked to, bothered, or harassed any of those liars. Yet, most every time my website was mentioned on the precious Facebook page it got deleted. I saw so many times that people could see all the research so many of you contributed to, but they are not allowed to. Why? Just being vindictive is all I can figure. Recently I joined the Facebook group of Lacy salt collectors. Jytte was one of the administrators so she permitted me to join. Mike Z. was another and I never had any issues with him. Two others are people I don't even know. Yet when I posted that the entire Neal book was on my website for people to see that might only have a salt or two and don't want to buy the book, that post got deleted. I don't know which administrator was told to delete the post but it is gone so I unjoined the group. Obviously another hostile environment towards me and my website. It's not that I don't enjoy adding more research to my website just as I have since before there ever WAS a National organization, but I can't do it all myself anyway and there were only two people helping me with the last couple H&J pages. There is no one I know that would be willing to take the website over in the future, and I'll be damned if it ever got in the hands of the National organization after all the grief they caused with lies just because they didn't want me to be president at the time. So before more effort is put into it, might as well dump it now since no one is allowed to know about it anyway. They copied the whole thing before and put it up as their own, so I have no doubt they would try to do it again. So I'm done. Watch for salts for sale. I wish I never began collecting them. There are many great people such as all of you guys, but there are also a handful who would shoot you in the back if they could get away with it. You know who they are. Some people were so afraid that the same could happen to them if they remained friends with me that they never spoke to me again. Some friends, huh?

What a beautiful and bright theme Debi, just lovely. I found this salt a few weeks back at a antique when Hubby took me to lunch. I was very thrilled as only about $30, $ 20 US, but found a small crack in one edge when I got home. It is really hard to see and for the price I guess I cannot complain. I thought is was the same as my other one but a more intense colour.

Nancy D., I think I have a few of the purple salts left, but I'm in Florida right now. If he can wait I'll look when I get home.

Linda, love that salt, I have a thing about the triangle salts and that is a beauty. Nancy, what a pretty coloured salt, I fancy it myself.

My buying days are pretty much over. Have to protect against oldest son from making off with my purple salts. He tried to get away with this 15th Anniversary salt this weekend. His girlfriend loves purple. I don’t have many in that color that I would part with. But he’s not taking any of my prized salts!

Thanks Susie. Yes, self bought gifts are exactly what we want! I have no idea of the age but at least in the 1800s. Who knows? Maybe earlier if it is Delfts. I can't believe I have not been able to find the V S mark anywhere. I've checked online and through several books I have. Your green salt is great.

Painted picture looks Chinese but it is not like any Chinese export I have. This is definitely the tin glaze used for faience and early Delfts.

Got this really neat salt in the mail today. Happy Birthday to me. Not sure if it's Delfts, faience, or what!! Haven't found the markings anywhere. Looks like Chinese export but I think it was made to mimic it.

Hi Linda, thank you for your concern but no, we are a long way fromTownsville though we do have a sort of niece who has a house there, her hubby is in the army and in Darwin but their house is rented out and they spent a lot of time and money doing it up. The bottom level completely under water. Such a disaster for the whole city. So much of Australia in severe drought, even towns running out of water and feed for livestock, and the tropical north are having massive rains. The government need to do something about making dams where the water is, and piping it to arid areas. If they could do it in the 50’s surely they could do it now.
The town my family came from was flooded to make a massive dam.

Love your new enameled salt and the camellia, Mary. I remember camellias from the year or so I lived in Pensacola, Florida years and years ago. I had never seen them before and marveled at them in several colors in yards around my neighborhood though I had none myself.

I bought a set of six lovely salts similar to yours though a bit simpler in design. I was in my selling phase and sold all six on the selling pages on this site, so several of our old friends probably still have them.
