Regarding item 7
Our journey to a new world will not be a geographical relocation but a dropping out of the highly structured political-economic-financial world that has become so centrally controlled and exploitative of the masses.
We need to rethink, reorganize, and restructure, first reducing our dependence upon the dominant structures, next, reorganizing ourselves into mutually supportive clusters or affinity groups, then creating structures appropriate to serving the needs of both the group and the common good.

You describe what needs to happen.... since it isn't, what does that mean? Are you afraid that humans might not survive? Does it really matter? Is consciousness dependent on a human form? How can YOU prepare for the "collapse"? Do you really need others to wake up, and join you? I believe the only thing to prepare for is death, then I am prepared for anything. What if it isn't a collapse at all, but a tremendous expansion?

This could have been the title of an essay predicting the consequences of the Y2K bug. Many of us believed that the collapse of civilization (water, power, finances, food distribution, medical care, etc.) was not only possible, it was probable. It came and went without a single noticeable glitch. Perhaps as a result of huge expenditures of resources to address the problem. Perhaps because not enough people believed it would happen. Same with the "coming collapse", until it becomes part of the concensus reality, it remains either a fear or a wish in a small minority of people.

General comment
The catalyst for this minor (but substantial) shift in perspective was an article "The Last Roundup" by Christopher Ketcham (sent by Patrick Knowles).

I sense the "SIGNIFICANCE" of the subtle levels of attitude towards collapse that I have experienced over the months and years. Often only a minor modification of information can trigger a major shift in attitude. I also am aware how the level of concern can vary.
