Hi Adam,
I was a friend of your Dad's when he lived in Vermont in the 1990's. I have a recording I made of him doing a concert somewhere that I need to digitize. I have looked around to try and find "Lost in the Music" to purchase, but haven't had any luck. I'm sure I'll know at least a couple of the tunes,as I sat not only at performances, but just hanging around listening to him play. I liked him a lot, and we reconnected briefly on MySpace just before his passing. If you know where I could purchase a copy of his album, reach out to me: keithmcgee@optimum.net
I'm so glad I got to know him, even if for only a short period of time.

Hello Adam. This is going to sound strange but I was your neighbor when you and your brother Christopher were very little boys on 215 street in Bayside, Queens. Your dad and mom, Corinne, were our dearest friends in the NYC music business for a very long time. I was married to Ron Frangipane at the time but for many reasons, the music business included, our friendship and my marriage ended. I have so often wondered about you, your brother and your parents and I cannot tell you how often I have searched for your dad,,. Now I find him and my heart is heavy. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you can send my best regards to your music m and if you would care to respond you can email me sjmknowlton@gmail.com.

I met Sal in about 2002 in Moore Haven Florida he worked in the chapel and I work for one of the teachers there and for a couple years Sal taught me more about guitar and music then I have learned in 30 plus years he was a great man a great friend and has been said here he had a wonderful sense of humor I still miss him very much I remember the day I heard about his passing we had planned to do a benefit show for a friend of mine who is opening up his music store in Spring Hill Florida and a friend of mine called and said that he had just heard that sell past all I could do was cry because had only seen him about two weeks before that again he was a great guitar player and a genius as far as I'm concerned and he taught me so much about music and now when I play I always play with him in mind hoping to maybe have them here a little bit of what I'm doing and smile and be pleased with what I've learned from him and how I try to apply it I met his parents also who would just wonderful wonderful people and I remember him playing the song that he wrote for his daughter who had passed Darcy it was a beautiful piece of music with some of the greatest greatest finger-picking I've ever seen he had total control over that guitar I miss him he was like a father figure to me and I hope whoever reads this knows then no matter what happens in our lives somebody will always come along to make it just a little bit better and so did that for me in a very hard time in my life I hope to see him again one day in heaven with our Lord.

I just found an old address book from years ago, started going thru it and found Sal's address and decided to try to look him up as I live in Tampa now also. I'm very sad to hear of Sal's passing. I really loved hanging out with him as well as preforming with him. He was the absalute best guitarist that I ever worked with. I meet Sal about 11 years ago and had the pleasure of working with him on many shows with various groups, he made me sing like an angle with how beautiful he played. I'm always thinking of him as I am still doing shows and preparing to record with my currant vocal group. I'm sure Sal is making beautiful music in Heaven as He really was a beautiful person.

My name is Sam Zucchini. I'm a full-time drummer. I met Sal briefly some years ago, and, of course, continue to hear Sal on one album after another. I just this afternoon listened to Barbara Cook's "As of Today" album and was so moved by it and by Sal's playing. His work is everywhere and we'll always be listening to his beautiful music. He was useful to so many top artists and producers. Love to him and all of you.

I met Sal DeTroia several years ago in Sarasota at the home of a mutual friend and purchased a CD from him that I love. I'd like to receive any information about purchasing any CD's of his that are available. Contact me please at spencerbp@hotmail.com...Thank you, I'm dismayed to hear that he is gone and I think we have truly lost a gifted musician...

Good morning, Adam,
My husband and I met Sal through a mutual friend, Mike Brassard, one summer when we were Park Rangers in Vermont. On several occasions Sal shared his guitar talent at evening gatherings with friends. However, the very special times were when he joined my husband and me for dinner at our ranger station. He filled our evenings with his wonderful gift in guitar music--- classical, flamingo etc plus his own creative music!!!! What beautiful memories!!!!
