BAND IN A HAT 10 is in full swing!!!

Four randomly-chosen bands and one large Kid Bands are working hard to create a stellar show on Saturday, April 15th @ 6 p.m. in JamesTown Hall! $5 suggested donation benefits JAM (Jamestown Area Artists & Musicians) for one of the most unique performances you will ever see! Wear your goofiest or classiest hat for a chance to win a prize in our Hat Contest and enjoy homemade goodies from our commUNITY bake sale!

SUBMIT ARTWORK!
Calling all artists of any age to submit black & white artwork for BIAH flyers, posters, and the program OR colored artwork to show at the event! This is NOT a contest, rather it's a chance for our local artists to be actively involved and properly represented. We are especially interested in designs that visually describe the "Band-In-A-Hat" concept of randomly chosen musicians working collaboratively while supporting the mission of JAM (Jamestown Area Artists and Musicians): "To foster a sense of community in the Jamestown area by encouraging adult and youth participation in and enjoyment of the Arts." The event motto of "Dare To Suck" can even be included, but is not necessary. Submissions will be gratefully accepted as soon as possible or BY SATURDAY, APRIL 1st (no foolin'!) through the contact info provided below. Also, please let us know if you'd like to display any of your personal work at the event.

MAKE A HAT to be given as a prize in our Hat Contest! Get creative! One time, we had a child's ring toy attached to a bike helmet with a bungee cord and another time, there was a pineapple cleverly attached to a hat, which actually won a prize!

PRIZES NEEDED!
Three donations are needed for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in our Hat Contest! An actual hat or instrument or any donation from a local business would be gratefully accepted, especially from those that relate to BIAH and The Arts, such as Candy's Costume Shop, Goorin's Hat Shop, Robb's Music, tickets to a show, or any other such prize. Please bring prize donations to the event or connect through the contact info provided below.

PLACE AN AD!
Calling all local businesses and artists to place an AD in the event program - $10 for a business-card size (plus reasonable rates for half or full-page ads). Submissions will be accepted until FRIDAY, APRIL 7th. Any volunteers who could sell ad spots to local businesses specifically related to The Arts (music, art, theater, etc.) would be greatly appreciated! Our BIAH event will be advertised in local papers, so hopefully a lot of eyes will end up seeing these programs.

commUNITY BAKERS UNITE!
In celebration of the Art of Food, donations of homemade goodies will be gratefully accepted at the event starting at 5 p.m. on the day of the show. Please label dishes and serving items with your name and phone number so we can return them to you.

PLEASE SHARE with all your friends and as always, THANK YOU for your support!

JAM is Jamestown Area Artists and Musicians, a group formed over 20 years ago "to foster a sense of community in the Jamestown Area by encouraging adult and youth participation in and enjoyment of The Arts." Over the years, JAM has created and sponsored many incredible events, including Children's Theater, Talent Shows, an original Rock Opera, nine installments of Band In A Hat, community movies, workshops, craft fairs, rummage sales, historical quilt making projects, Hootenannies, Square Dances, Poetry Nights, Comedy Shows, unique music and theatrical performances, Art & Garden Walks, Art Shows, Java JAM, and much, much more.

One of our "schticks" has been to raise money and sink it right back into the Town, including renovating our most precious venue, JamesTown Hall with new curtains, heating, lighting, stage flats, and decor, as well as contributing to the Elysian Park Pavilion and Town Square.

Be part of the fun as we take JAM to new heights...together! All ages, styles, levels, interests, and locations are welcome to join! This group is not only for musicians, but for anyone interested in any form of The Arts. We plan to have monthly meetings in the future, so if you miss this one, fear not, for there will be other opportunities. Hope to see you there!

Thanks to everyone who participated, helped and supported the Holiday Craft Fair. It felt so good to be back in the Town Hall for a community event. JAM raised 872.00 dollars and we sold 314.00 in OVERSTOCK T_SHIRTS for JVFD.
Every artist, crafter and vendor also reported good, if not great sales numbers!

CSP hit and run alert
11-02-2016
09:16 PM ET (US)

The Colorado State Patrol is seeking information from the public regarding a hit-and-run on a cyclist on Saturday afternoon.

State Trooper Nate Reid said the crash happened near Olde Stage Road and Lefthand Canyon Drive at about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The cyclist, Jody LaPar, of Boulder, said she was riding on Olde Stage Road when she was struck from behind and left in a ditch.

"The right-hand passenger mirror shattered into my back," LaPar said. "We went back and picked up the pieces."

Reid said that the state patrol is in possession of the pieces of the mirror and they appear to belong to a Ford SUV or pickup truck.

LaPar said the vehicle that hit her was tan, and she believes it was a 2010 to 2014 Ford Explorer or Expedition, based on online research she conducted on her own.

She said cyclist groups are helping her look for the vehicle, and she has driven around the area in an attempt to locate it.

"I think at this point, he hasn't had a chance to fix his mirror," she said.

LaPar said she suffered a concussion and it is hard to move, but she had a CAT scan and doesn't have any bleeding in her brain.

Anyone with information is asked to call state patrol dispatch at 303-239-4501.
