Traffic is closed on Asbury just north of Main for a 2 foot diameter sinkhole. Street crews are en route to pick up a steel plate to cover the affected area with. Street should be reopened to traffic in an hour or two once the plate is put in place. Temporary fix, street will be repaired after further evaluation tomorrow to discover cause. More info to come when available.

Kathryn, I am so glad you said that about the art. They came from a mansion on Sheridan Road, and are just too big for my place. If you have a home where they will work, great and they really are lovely. I was hoping for a good home. How do you want to arrange pick up?

Good morning,
Snowfall is expected to continue in our area through late morning with an additional trace to 0.60 in. of accumulation possible.
Public Works Agency personnel are now starting to transition over from primary roads to residential streets. We will continue to monitor all forecasts and pavement conditions and spread as needed.
Thank you.

Re. the jackhammering... having an up close and personal view (with full audio effects) I can report that the last of the concrete yielded to the jackhammer late Saturday afternoon. Quite a pile of rubble to deal with, but the loud part appears done.

Candace, I am with you. I understand the need to get home projects done as I had construction at my house for months. But it was week days only and never all day jackhammering

I, too, am hopeful that the jackhammering will not continue for a second weekend day tomorrow

I gotta say that having the jackhammer working all day long in the alley across the street, for two entire days, has really bummed my weekend. I sincerely hope that this work in someone's garage, backyard or drive does not continue tomorrow, on Sunday.

I saw it go up yesterday. Was a little disappointed that it’s not more obtrusive. The white and black do not show up well against the sky. Nevertheless, I am eager to see if drivers begin to heed better. I will be watching, because the intersection has only grown more terrifying since my last rant.
