I see the Berrien proof, where's the Haggarty proof? I just want to vote for the right candidate. I'm new to USPS all I know is Haggarty as President. There's article after article about Berrien & his "bored" wife. Does anyone have any documents on Haggarty? I'm looking for PROOF not OPINIONS

Financial Irregularities Charged as
Mail Handlers' Board Suspends President
Activists Say Entire
Board Should Go
by Jane Slaughter
LABOR NOTES October 1991 page 5
The national executive board of the Mail Handlers Union has removed President Glenn Berrien from office, alleging financial improprieties. But many local Mail Handler officials are calling on the entire executive board to resign. They say that board members are scapegoating Berrien for actions for which the whole board bears responsibility.
In the meantime, the Mail Handlers' parent union, the Laborers (LIUNA), has made it clear that if the 50,000-member MHU does not get its house in order very soon, the Laborers will likely impose a trusteeship. LIUNA has done this before, in 1985.
The board voted unanimously to put Berrien on a leave of absence after receiving a report from attorney Robert Gallagher on the use of union funds. That report said that Berrien had misspent $29,000, including charges at nightclubs, a video store, a convenience store, and downtown Washington hotels.
The union's credit card showed cash advances to Berrien, including several where Berrien charged small purchases and then added “tips” up to $200. After the report was issued, Berrien repaid $22,000.
The Mail Handler - Summer 1993
Despite the overwhelming defeat suffered by the past officers in last year's election, it is obvious that they are still interested in trying to tie up the time and resources of the new administration. While the new administration is forging the union in a new direction, the past administration continues to play stupid games. Since the election, the new administration has had to expend time and precious union
resources on the following:
Former President Glenn Berrien and former Secretary-Treasurer Marion Wright have filed for unemployment. Neither of their claims has been approved. Neither Berrien or Wright had returned to their jobs at the Post Office as of early June.
Marion Wright filed a Worker's Comp Claim because of the "stress" he suffered when removed from office.
Both Berrien and Wright refused to vacate the union-owned housing. The union was forced to go to Court to evict the former officers.
The union's arguments were upheld in both cases.
The house vacated by Glenn Berrien was left in deplorable condition. Pigsty is an appropriate description. The union is selling
The house, which has required approximately $20,000 in repairs to make it presentable for sale.
Both Berrien and Wright had personal VISA cards that the union underwrote. Both have over $8,500 in pending bills for personal expenditures for which the union is responsible because of an agreement that Berrien and Wright signed with VISA. Neither Berrien
Nor Wright has paid a penny on these bills since last October.
Despite the resolution that was passed at the convention last summer to discontinue severance pay, the slate of candidates calling themselves "Experienced Leadership" (Berrien, Wright ,Willie Thompson, William Whitley ,Georgia Butler, and Earl Clark) has filed claims for severance pay.
The "Experienced Leadership" slate has filed suit asking for $1 million each from the charging parties at last year's National trial, the Presidents of the Locals who endorsed the charges, and the five Local Presidents who voted guilty on the charges. A similar suit was filed late last year and was terminated by the court.
These and similar activities engaged in by the past officers say it all .You should rest assured, however, that the new administration has no intention of allowing this nonsense to prevent us from carrying out the changes mandated by the membership in last year's election.

The same Berrien who stole from us and was found guilty and booted from office?
Didn't the OIG just find about 1000 pieces of mail in his closet? Saw on the news that his wife plead out to that and was forced to retire. I wonder if he put her up to it? Does he really think that people believe that he did not know about the mail in his own bedroom?

We got hit pretty good last night; 12 hrs for everyone. Talked w/ some station people and Amazon is going straight to stations. Probably getting a discount on top of already lower fees. A lot of routes can't even carry mail. Too many parcels that fill delivery vans up.
