God only knows what she's talking about. This is, remember, the woman who lamented having gone to Yale Law because it "cost [her] men."

It depends upon what you mean by "classic" - she's probably not speaking of "decadent" classic rock, like Led Zeppelin, Lovin' Spoonful and the Doobie Brothers. She's probably speaking of "true" classic rock, like Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Knox and Little Richard.

You forgot to mention her approval of "classic rock and roll" as a good antidote for the sinister music of today. Cuz, y'know, classic rock and roll doesn't have any sexist or violent undertones.

Does she believe Hollywood creeps into our homes at night, or what? If people's values were anathema to what's shown on commercials and in movies, they wouldn't make money.

And along comes Mona Charen - too late to the debate to be original, urging us to become a nation of Terry Rakoltas.

I dont see why people care so much about this. Folks have been talking about it all week. I dont even care that I missed it. It's just a boob for crying out loud.

Yeah, that was my reaction to Goldberg as well. Apparently he missed the part about Jackson having planned it...does he think his adult daughter never, ever wants a boy to uncover her breasts? (Oh hey, maybe not. She could be a lesbian. But somehow I don't think that would calm him much.)

I think the stunt was tacky and uncalled for, but I'm baffled that there is so much focus on Janet Jackson. If I had to pick Superbowl moments I didn't want my kids to see, I'd pick, the misogynistic "yelling like a ref" commercial. Or the snack food commercial showing two elderly people beating one another up over a bag of chips.

Perhaps our culture could do better by heeding these lessons, as opposed to obsessing over Janet's breast.

If Jonah Goldberg would truly be that upset if his twenty-one-year-old daughter bared her breast for a boyfriend.... Well, his problems probably run deeper than an untamed "half time show".
