I got out and walked about 20 minutes last night in our new neighborhood. I walked from about 8:10 -8:30, pretty much as the sun was going down, then it was dark enough to feel like I was walking on a movie set. No one else was out, the temp (FOR ONCE) was a perfect, breezy 76 and the street lights and house/garage coach lights were all mostly amber. Pretty surreal. I can feel my spine and hip alignment is off and I see the chiropractor tomorrow. I can only stand to see him every other week, because going there too often is annoying. I just have to suck up the uncomfortable feeling as I walk.

Here was lunch yesterday, as I tried a new Mexican restaurant pretty close to the courthouse. I went there yesterday and saw one trial, which was a waste of time because it was for a juvenile using pot.

The only thing that ever worked for me was the Keto diet <20 grams of carbs. I can keep the carbs low, but keeping the Protein low (about 25%) is much more difficult. If I go with BulletProof Coffee I can reach my diet goals, but the BPC must be a meal replacement since it is 500 calories. I have also fasted 2,3 and 5 days, and that is pretty easy. On Facebook there is the Obesity Code Network with Dr. Jason Fung which is quite good. Also Healing Heart Disease with Keto and Fasting on Facebook.

Flour. Corn are very difficult to make. Hard to get them thin.

Four, corn or both? Hot right off the grill is a yummy gourmet treat. There is a restaurant in San Diego (Old Town Mexican Cafe) where they'd bring freshly made tortillas to you with your meal. I was going there a lot in the early 80s. Resistance is futile. I super enjoy the flour with a little butter and cheese if I am really pigging out (quesadilla).

/m31325 I've been doing that online Health Coach too. Trying to get my BP down so I don't have to take meds, yuck.
So far so good, it is a little bit more motivation.

82%, you're projecting your inner desires, not mine.

I had my annual physical a couple of months ago and I weighed 201. Cholesterol and blood pressure too high. Doc wanted to put me on "baby" dose of statins and bp meds. Told him I'd rather first try changing my diet and sedentary lifestyle. I go back in 4 months.

BCBS has a an online wellness and health coach program that gives you up $210 for answering a few questions and achieving certain goals. My target weight is 181 in 6 months but I've already lost 10 lbs and bp is in the normal range from just 2 months of simply walking a couple of miles a day.

I already ate pretty good and drank lots of water instead of soda or tea but I do have a slight fondness for sweets like baked goods or ice cream. I've cut the amount of those types of snacks in half and I'm hopeful this will help lower my cholesterol. If not then I'll keep making further dietary changes until it does.

Getting off of your fat ass and walking over 1 hour a day has more to do with your weight loss than anything else you could do. Sure, cutting back on carbs and sugar intake helps but it is the daily walking that gives you the greatest benefit. You're sweating more than you think, especially in the summertime heat.

Dazed, I had no motivation until my yearly physical. My fasting glucose test came back too high. So I convinced my Dr. to put me on probation. I went back two weeks ago and he said to keep doing what I was doing, my blood was fine. So the weight loss was a byproduct of getting my sugar down. I never was one for sweets, it was the carbs and in between meals snaking that got me.

/m31319 82, that is a good solid pace of 3mph. I have lost my motivation lately, and I am driving to Oklahoma Friday so I want to start the YMCA as soon as I get back.
