I went to a play today. The wife and I have season tickets to the local theater group. The play pretty much consisted with three women, two sisters and a sister-in-law. It was loaded with one liners. The funniest one was, one of the women was starting to date again since her husband had been dead over a year. She told about this one man's profile on a dating site. He stated he just moved from a gated community to his parent's house to save money. The other two women put their heads together and one told the other "that's code for just getting out of prison." It was a while before they could continue while the laughter died down.

/m31521 BB, Halloween - boy in a pirate costume goes to a door - woman asks 'Where are your Bucaneers' - boy replies 'Under my buckin hat'

Hank Williams could express pain better than most I have ever heard. He did at age 29 and left a huge legacy. Just hear the words that he wrote.

DAZEDANDCONFUSED... I used to HATE country music.
then one day i heard "a country boy can survive"
by hank williams jr. what a GREAT song. there was a lot
of great music that came out in the'60's and '70's but all
you ever hear is the same 50 to 70 songs and they call it
"classic rock". classic crap. i mean, really, how many times
do i gotta hear Bohemian Rhapsody?

Dazed, boy is this a coincidence. I saw a post from one of your living relatives. That person was listed as their 2nd most crazy relative.

You know I love you.

Watched a special on Hank Williams yesterday, and it was quite good. Hank was like Bob Dylan, he couldn't sing a note, but he had a way with words. On my recent drive to Oklahoma I realized how bad music has got. Music goes in cycles, but we have been stuck in a bad cycle for a long time. My favorite music was the late 60s early 70s.

I just watched the 2nd half of the country music history on PBS, and it was great.

Hannah, I did listen to Rammstein a lot maybe 18 years ago when I rode with spouse. We have a great memory of a friend and his dad riding with us in our truck, and the dad sang with Rammstein "Do the laundry; socks and underwear". . . and that is what it sounded like. We have had maybe hundreds of laughs over time repeating that one line.

Demons. Perfect and EXACT description, Hannah. I can't be around most all metal noise/bands, and I call it "agitating". Husband finds that term funny and tells his friends that is what I call it. I am at the new place and I bet he is playing a lot of the agitation at the old place. A lot of that music feels creepy, oppressive and evil. I would have been long gone or not even come to Colorado, if I was forced to be around and hear some of that.

Cali, No, I dislike most metal. I say most because I have not listed to enough to know if it is all people trying to sound like demons. Basically, if I cannot understand the words I don't like it. I had not listened to Jinjer (none of my kids were into metal, so I never listened to much of it). When I youtubed it after your post I wondered if maybe that lead singer was like Amy Lee (just basing that on her general look). Obviously, she is not. Maybe Jinjer is not all like that. I listened to only a few minutes of a couple songs.

Speaking of Amy Lee, about the farthest I go to anything grunge/metal/whatever type singing is something like Paul McCoy (Twelve Stones) jumping in on Bring Me To Life. But I don't listen to Twelve Stones. They only have a song or two that I have listened to. So I guess I like some people who sing that type of music but only when they sing something far different. Amy Lee did not like her label having Paul McCoy on that song to make it sell better. She later released the song all by herself. I agree with the label--I liked it with the guy better. I guess she felt it was sexist or something.

The Goo Goo Dolls lost a lot of fans when they sold out. But I love "Iris" and like a couple of their other songs. But I would not listen to their stuff I cannot understand and that their "real" fans wants.

Maybe I am just not cool. (unless it is cool to like Justin Timberlake, lol). I like only the tamest of rap, etc. I do like Eminem, but hate all the personal stuff in rap. For instance, I love Cleaning Out My Closet but wish it was generic and not have references to his mom and kid by name, etc. My kids used to laugh when we went to a laundromat and I sang "Candy Shop" as "Laundromat" and substituted words related to the laundromat in the song. I was just trying to make a trip to the laundromat a little more fun.
