Can I order discount glasses too? Sure you can! Any of our frames can be made into cheap glasses -- with the same discounts as regular eyewear. In fact, all of our frames can be purchased online. And, if you want to know whether you can order glasses as well -- you bet you can!

In conjunction with our current exhibition DIY: A Revolution in Handicrafts, the Society for Contemporary Craft (SCC) has developed programming to introduce the public to the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) Movement, what it represents, and who is making it happen here in Pittsburgh.

SCC will present a special weekend workshop in the Studio with Ben Masters of Brooklyn-based Bamboo Bike Studio on Saturday and Sunday, October 23 and 24, 2010. Participating students will have the unique opportunity of walking into class on Saturday and riding out on Sunday on their own custom-built bamboo bicycle. We would like to ask if you could help us spread the word about this great workshop. The cost is $948 including all materials and the class is limited to four students.

To connect with community groups and offer an bikers ways to get involved we are planning a Bike Meet-Up to be held at SCC on Saturday, October 23 from Noon-4 pm on our outdoor plaza in the Strip District. This will be a great way for bikers and enthusiasts to see who is currently involved with the local bike scene—we hope you’ll join us for this fun event. Please call us at 261-7003, ext. 15, if you’re interested in participating or you have questions about either of these events.
