The Price of Liberty

Speaking of government encroachment...The House, by a vote of 391-22, passed legislation today increasing the maximum fine for radio and TV "indecency" to $500,000. That can be applied towards either license-holder or entertainer, or both.

In other words, the price of a bare boob has gone up from $11,000 to a million dollars if both entities are fined.

And for my personal moment of zen, here is a quote from Representative Joseph Pitts (R-Pa) during debate on the issue: "I am tired of hearing parents tell me how they have to cover their children's ears."

Yes, God forbid parents should *monitor* what their children are watching while they eat McDonalds on the living room couch.
