On IdeaSmart: Input COA’s immediately into COARS at acceptance unit (please vote on it if you agree or add your comments)

Problem: COA’s often take several days to be input into the system after acceptance.

Improvement: Revise COARS system or allow access to current program to allow COA’s to be input at office of acceptance.

Benefits: Eliminates delay of COA processing and machine interception can begin immediately. This eliminates holding time in affected office, delayed pieces (waiting on COA to be processed), and is generally input by those with knowledge of respective delivery point affected (allowing needed corrections to be made immediately).

Proposed Solution :

Improvement: Revise COARS system or allow access to current program to allow COA’s to be input at office of acceptance.

Benefits: Eliminates delay of COA processing and machine interception can begin immediately. This eliminates holding time in affected office, delayed pieces (waiting on COA to be processed), and is generally input by those with knowledge of respective delivery point affected (allowing needed corrections to be made immediately). Also, reduces downstream processing and allows mail to immediately be forwarded.

/m821 Wasn't Milwaukee supposed to be consolidated into Minneapolis? Wichita was in the 130s for a while before we closed, and a few weeks ago I heard the gaining sites (Denver and Minneapolis) had fallen into the 110s. Perhaps they put off or cancelled giving Milwaukee's mail to Minneapolis because what happened after they took on half of our volume.

Wichita sounds like St. Louis. St. Louis was originally gaining sight until the district decided to consolidate into Indy. Previous and current PM were from Indy a lower performing site. Milwaukee is still open with their 90ish productivity. Notice they only raised the goal to 146 from 144. Look at Royal Oak, Milwaukee and Indy delayed volumes just in GLA alone. Royal Oak was performing at goal of 144 not in the 120's.

Charleton don't be so sour. This was the best job you will ever have in the Post Office. Our CFS closed 5 years ago. I have worked nights on DBCS, Parcel sorting, window clerk and now a carrier. Nothing beats CFS, but thats the breaks. Get use to it.

I sure hope someone will be held accountable for massive amounts of overtime, while I sat on idle time/535 for 4.5 hours on a Monday. I'm taking a book and a deck of cards to work tomorrow, & I'm not taking 15 minutes of LWOP

Congratulations, Denver! You have managed to take over 50% of Wichita's volume, and still very little delayed mail, while Minneapolis has over 100,000 pieces of delayed, plus a hefty amount of unworked. 11 work days to go, then maybe you can actually start reporting an accurate delayed amount. Oh, that's right, it's not delayed unless it comes through your door instead of sitting in a warehouse somewhere

Hey Denver CFS--How're you liking the short chairs, trashcans and fickle FFT's Wichita sent you?
Hey Minneapolis- Prepping the mail is a major drain on a CFS unit's productivity. Get used to it. Can't believe you wanted Wichita to send you nice pretty tubs of mail while the ship is going down.

And whoever is getting Kansas City, MO mail--Enjoy! Oh, and we hope you like keying parcels, too.

If your unit is slated for shut down, be prepared. Our clerks were told to bid to the rec site FTF jobs,if they couldn't handle the plant, and they'd be detailed back to help with the mail volume. LIE. They were told their schedules at the REC would probably not change. LIE. We keep losing FFT's, and sometimes they just sit there waiting on a skid, while 22 remaining clerks figure out how to work the mail on 15 FFTs. It really sucks working for the post office right now.

X-stew, don't forget that even when management is trying to tell the truth, they usually don't have anything accurate to tell because THEIR bosses are lying to THEM.

Yeah, right. Keep on thinking that, scab, while management runs the USPS into the ground and destroys all our jobs.

It's well known fact here that the Union is not on our side.
They're good for nothing!
Read the contract again and you will see what I mean.
