I was just looking that up on Blue last week Moose. NTFT clerks are paid 8 hours for holidays according to the agreement. From what I read as long as you work the day before or the first workday after you should get 8, weekday or Saturday. That's what I'm going to submit on my time card. If the TACS officials don't like it they should contact my APO to question it.

Question? I'm a NTFT 40 hour Flex - Hours are M-F 7.5 hours and Sat I work 2.5 hours to make 40. On the Vet Holiday Nov 11 which falls on a Sat. how will I get paid. I will be off Friday and paid my 7.5 for that day but what about the 2.5 hours on Sat when we will be closed? Just wondering.. Thanks

You're a NTFT now so you can't rotate. No reason to worry over other clerk's schedules as it is truly out of your control. Your schedule is what it is but I do agree with Moose in that you should get the 3 hour lunch issue resolved. Your hours shouldn't have been built with a 3 hour lunch.

I understand that but for years we have needed 2 clerks at closing on certain days and during passport hours and now the day I am placed into the NTFT position it all stops. I get to do it all on my own. Yes, we have 2 people during passport hours well for at least 2 out of the 5 hours of the hours.

Postmasters have the right to schedule hours as needed, not necessarily mirroring hours earned. PTF's aren't guaranteed hours so no.

I'm not totally against filing a grievance. I would rather not, I know my schedule will be horrible! The 2 PTF clerks use to work together and close on very busy days. Since I have became a NTFT I have closed every single day by myself. Yes the PM is in the office but that doesn't do me any good. We are showing we have earned plenty of clerk hours but the PM refuses to use all hours earned.
I'm not sure about the 8 within 10 for Saturday. One more question. Is there anything we can do about the cut in hours for the PTF. The PM does NOT use her 15 hours

If you are NTFT Flexible then your START time can be changed BUT your straight hours remain. Only a 2 hour lunch is permissible. There is NO splitting times - you are Full time now. File a grievence - don't worry about your boss - He doesn't worry about you.

Your schedule as a regular has to be the same every week, that's why you can't split the closing every other week.

I'm not sure about that Saturday schedule either. Isn't it supposed to be 8 within 10? Maybe size of office makes a difference.

If you're determined not to grieve it, you could go the pretending you like it route.

I seriously doubt that your PM will be able to stick to such a goofy schedule anyway. You'll be collecting plenty of Out Of Schedule (OOS) premium pay.

Very long message but trying to find answers anywhere is near impossible. I work in a level 18 office. When I first started there was 3 PTFs. We also do passports(walk ins no appointments). The senior PTF was converted to 40 hour NTFT about 2 years ago 6am-3:00pm mon-fri with Saturday's off. The other PTF was sent to the 6 hour office and converted to NTFT. I was working 48-54 hours a week. With my schedule being changed every single day. Sometimes lunch 6:30-8:30 9:30-5:30(no break). Because the PM couldn't change the NTFT clerk schedule, and needed me for passports and the window. I filed a grievance when I was told we wouldn't be getting another PTF to see if I was eligible to become a NTFT after working these hours over a year. The very next day the PTF position was posted. We got our PTF and I then almost a year later I found out I had won the grievance and should have been converted to 38 hour NTFT 8 months ago. Just recently told the schedule and it's 6:00-12:00 3:00-6:00 Saturday, and Monday Tuesday 11:30-5:30 off Wednesday Thursday 11:30-5:30 and Friday 8:30-2:30-3:30-5:30. The other PTF and myself always rotated closing and opening and every other Saturday closing because of how busy the window is, now I feel like its retaliation for me winning the grievance. The schedule isn't horrible but when I say anything about the 3 hour lunchs or about splitting the closing at least one day a week I'm told this is the hours I'm needed. Once the new PTF came we got 30-35 hours a week for over a year and half. Now the PTF was cut down to 15 hours w week because of me converted to NTFT. Talk about tension in the office. Really don't want to file another grievance and needles the other PTF because he saw what I went through with the PM when I filed. Any suggestions on what to do, or do I just take this schedule and run with it
