We also have new 53 foot trailers. They are leased. Not sure how many we have received. No new red white and blue trailers. We will start receiving our new trucks after October. Start of the new fiscal year.

It would sure be nice if we got some new trucks. We are driving 2000 Macks. After 17 years I think it's time to put them out of service.

We have a total of about 8 new Ryder trucks now. They are for some of the new work coming back to us. They will hire PSE's to fill some of that work. I hear from VMF that our regular postal trucks (Volvo) will be coming soon. I won't hold my breath. We have some routes going to the Bay area for the new work and also Mather work.

Hey Sac Mvs/2818: At least you got some new tractors. The 7 & 11 ton bobtails were a nice buy when they were new. I haven't driven one in years though. I'll ask the P&DC drivers if theirs is equipped similarly. Sometimes I think that mgt is going to keep these old spotters until self driving robot spotters are invented, then they can cancel the Ryder contract and get rid of all drivers. They tried that once before out here in Cal as you well know. This could be a nice place to work but office politics make it a very difficult place to work. Mgt here hates us.

Well, we got 3 out of 10 of the new U.S. Mail Ryder lease trucks. Don't like the way they shift. Real slow and the truck feels like a regular 10 speed shifting even though it is an automatic. And why don't they have power mirrors?????????? Numerous drivers drive these trucks and they all have different mirror positions. I do like the Bluetooth radios and power windows at least.

I work at a NDC now and I can't believe how badly the computer dispatching program works, it's call YMS for Yard Management System. We are down to three sometimes four working monitors, out of sixteen spotters. It is Windows 7, Mgt bought it used, it can't connect to the intranet, most of the keyboards have some problems, touch screens don't work and mgt can't seem to do anything about it. They say we are getting a new system soon......I've heard that before. VTAPS was reliable and sturdy and with a good VOA at the controls was faster, but mgt will never go back to it. So, I am interested in how it is working out at other NDC's

Philly has hired 3 or 4 every pp since like February. They've gotta be up to like 20-30 by now. A few got let go for accidents, attendance, etc. One has to assume we're getting some work back bc otherwise I have no idea what they're gonna do. Unless a buyout is coming for the old guys
