Okay, so we're up to 5000 again, and it's time to start a new topic. Hopefully we won't lose a bunch of messages the way we did before. I already started the new topic, as shown by the link below, and now I will disallow posts to this topic. See you there!

V. funny.

Laurie, I didn't know you in high school, so I can't comment on you... pero Sue, estas igualita!

Today was my first day back at work after my maternity leave. Boo hoo I miss my Bubulina! It is *so* hard not spending the day with her. My heart aches.

However, I have to be careful about what I wish for. My boss confided in me that if we don't land some new clients soon, they probably won't be able to keep me on for more than 1-2 more months. Argh... Gotta bring in some new biz soon or polish up that resume!

I have you all beat - $2.35 per gallon on Monday.

Yes, Jasmine is sweet and cute, but the people voting for her are not doing her any favors. How much longer do they want to subject her to the boos and the mean comments from the judges? And really, would you buy her album? I was having this strange fantasy that Fantasia will get booted tonight and Jasmine will resign in protest. It will never happen, but I'd like to think that it could! Stay tuned for a picture!

My friends in Europe think US gas prices are laughably low...

Sue, I like your theory, and thus perhaps Jasmine will be elected champion. THAT would be fun! Now I feel like I should've tried voting for her... plus she's the cutest.

You should all know that, adjusted for inflation, gas prices are no higher today than in the 1980's and lower than in the 1970's.

if that's no consolation, you could support nuclear energy. Or drilling in Alaska. Or root for Iraqi stabilization. Or wish that enviro-wacko regulations about gasoline will be repealed. Or that gasoline taxes will be lowered. Or all of the above! There really are many solutions to the problem. Unfortunately, Democrats oppose most of them.

Wow Sue, you couldn't vote!!! Were you able to relax enough to go to sleep? Just teasing - I loved seeing how involved you are with the show. Great fun!

Julio, that was cute about Amazon. he he.

So, who amongst us is paying the highest price for a gallon of gas? I am seeing $2.20 cents, but I filled up at $1.95 two days ago.

Anyone else?

Yep, watched Idol of course. I agree with Julio that Fantasia and Diana should move on. Still can't quite believe LaToya is gone. Or George. Or Amy. All of whom are better than Jasmine and Diana (sometimes). Oh well. As for shrill, I can barely stand listening to Diana talk. She's so squeeky!

I started calling at about 10:30pm and couldn't get through at all. Not one vote. Busy, busy, busy. So, it's out of my hands. I think I figured out why Jasmine has stayed in so for (and Camille too, for that matter). When I can start voting in CA, the phone lines are still open in Mountain and Central time zones. In Hawaii, the phone lines are closed everywhere else in the continental US, and are just open for them.

On Idol, shrilly Fantasia and perky Diana deserve to move on. Cutesy Hawaiian bids farewell. Then they should declare the other two a tie rather than subject us to a repeat of the Ruben-Clay mess, because it really doesn't matter who wins.

To make it really fun, Fantasia ought to get the boot. The cries of injustice will give Bush an extra day or two to figure out Iraq before he returns to the headlines.

Tennyson, I don't think I've asked you this - I meant to ask, but I think I forgot. . .

Anyway, do you know a good watering system company for a yard? What are they called? Sprinkling system?

Mom can't water by hand anymore and she really wants to install a system. Can you recommend someone in the Plano area?? Thanks. You can answer here or at my email, lgbean@excite.com

well Lisa, I'm glad you won. Enjoy your prize!

Julie - nice to hear from you. Well it is too bad your son got suspended for that. Seems *some* should try and go with the flow a bit more rather than just punish kids.

I have a feeling that if we had been in school nowadays, we'd all be on Ritalin. Scary.

Hey Sue, did you watch American Idol on Mon and Tues? I caught the end on Monday, when the little 16 yr old sang, "Turn the Beat Around".

She did a fantastic job with that song which is super hard to sing. The lyrics are sooo fast and she did an incredible job. Too bad she didn't sing that song the previous week - maybe it was too risky of a song to sing under pressure.

Of course, I managed to miss last night's show. I stayed at the club late and then Bill wanted dinner at a restaurant. Didn't get home until a bit after 9 PM. But I do hope to watch tonight's show to see who gets booted.

Anyone watching Super Millionnaire? Pretty intersting. Questions are tougher, but they get more $$. There are 2 additional "life lines" - one wasn't very good last night. They gave the contestant the wrong answer. Pooh.
