The HS-O is made in Mexico but finished, inspected and strung in the US. Also, from what I've been told they have a scalloped bracing system (?) making them beefier. Other than that, I don't know what else is different.

New martin s-0 is nice, comes with awsom soft case, see music 123 and i wonder if any higher priced and what they are. I love the s-0.

That seems to be what I'm hearing from other people as well. Is a better finish worth the 100% price increase for the HS-0? And does it actually improve the sound?

I just bought the S-O Uke and now see that Martin has come out with the more expensive HS-O model. It appears to be identical to the S-O, but it comes with a hard case. Does anyone know what the differences are? I'm guessing since it's so much more expensive it is probably made in the US instead of Mexico. Martin's web site has no info whatsoever on the differences.
