My dad (Mike Morgan Sr - BT3) served aboard the Essex during the Korean War. I'm interested in finding any unique objects or things that might be original from the Ship. I'm not sure exactly what, but anything that came from that time (other than cruise books) would be of interest. I'm not looking to resell anything, this is to show my son (his grandson) a connection to his grandfather whom he won't know. If you have something you find special but you want to sell to someone who will truly treasure it, I would very much appreciate it. It pains me that my son won't know his grandfather, but I'm hoping he will have something that allows him to identify with him. My email is morganau at aol.com and my number is 404.955.9663

Thanks,
Mike Morgan Jr.

Mr. Frank R O' Conor it has been many years since the last time I received an email from you. I was wondering is there a way to still provide the evidence of GM William Virgil Gale who served honorably on the USS Essex and was one of the men who was harmed when the kamikaze came crashing into the Essex. I would be honored in sharing his story and also would love to see that he gets put on the list of known sailors that was on the Essex and the heroic measurements he had carried out during the kamikaze fight. I was deeply saddened when I went to the GM School in Great Lakes Illinois and found there was no record of him only the kamikaze and it saying that there was causalities and wounded sailors. The word causalities and wounded sailors goes deeper especially when there is a name behind the single word sailor. I am a veteran of Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and served 5 years as a Navy Corpsmen I understand how history is lost and I would love to see all of Military Heroes from Deck Seamen to Gunners mate be preserved thank you for taking the time and reading this message. Thank you for all who have served this great nation.

Greetings! My uncle Charles R. Thompson ("Robert" "Bob") served as a naval pilot on the USS Essex during WWII. Would love to converse with anyone who remembers him.

Thank you for your honored service,
