Hello, hope all are well. I have some questions to pose please, and I appreciate any replies and help. Thank you. I'm a RCA.

As of right now, I have two grievances to file. As far as the question part goes, I would like an unbiased way of asking. Any other general advice and help with filing these will be greatly appreciated. Side-note, the person in charge is a very vindictive and petty OIC. So I want to come off as professional as possible. Also have been in touch with steward overseeing our office because we don't have a home steward.

Grievance 1: I was denied leave on the base of "Needs of Service." I asked for 5 days, all weekdays, asked my primary if she was planning to ask for any leave, and she said no. I also saw the calendar of who had asked off, no other subs have, and only a couple of regulars had. We are not a short staffed office.

Grievance 2: Our matrix has not been updated and corrected; going close to five months. Ways of going about the grievance? We are hoping it goes class action because others are planning to file too.

Oh I've been with the Postal Service 14 years 4 years regular just recently my right arm and hand started giving me problems I have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel but this shoulder pain is really really bothering me I'm sure it's work-related how do I handle this situation it's not an accident but it is work-related and I don't want to get wrote up for saying it's an accident but when I go to the doctor they're going to ask me if it's work-related

/m13773 -- jackson820122 -- "Is there any language that states, RCA's can't work 7 straight days?"

-- Unfortunately - no, there isn't.

-- If the office is short on subs and also does Sunday Amazon parcels, RCA's could work the entire 21 days of the Christmas No-Overtime period.

-- But more than likely, the RCA's will burn out before then. And manglement may have to "suit up" to get the mail delivered.

/m13771 -- 3 yr reg -- "I want to change my off day from sat to mondays starting in January. All I have to do is put it in writing to PM??? or is there a form I have to do."

-- Putting your request in writing may work. As with most things postal, there is a catch.

-- Step 4 ( R-92 ), in part: If mutually agreeable to both the postmaster and the employee, the employee's relief day may be changed.

-- The POM's Section 651.1 - Regular and Auxiliary Routes. In part: Note - Authorized relief days are granted on Saturdays unless another day is desirable by the regular carrier and is mutually agreeable to the postmaster and the carrier.

-- If the postmaster / supervisor is not agreeable, the change probably won't happen. But in your case, freeing up a Saturday for a relief day may weigh in your favor.

/m13767 -- Rizzo44 -- " they hired a new sub that's been assigned to my route. He's been misdelivering parcels, and apparently he's been doing it all this week. Shouldn't he be retreiving them? He needs to correct his mistakes."

-- Has the supervisor or anyone spoken to the new sub about the delivery errors?

-- Could be the supervisor is afraid of the RCA quitting if chasitized about the errors made on the route.

I've been on vacation since last week. I went in today to get my check. A supervisor told me I'd have a rough week next week. A month or so ago, they hired a new sub that's been assigned to my route. He's been misdelivering parcels, and apparently he's been doing it all this week. Shouldn't he be retreiving them? He needs to correct his mistakes.

/m13763 -- 3 yr reg -- " I am over jeeps what the best lasting van I should consider for route."

-- That will depend on some of the following:

- hilly vs flat / 4wd vs 2-wheel drive
- paved vs dirt/gravel
- city-type route ( curb-side mail boxes in a ( gated ) neighborhood ) vs a real rural route ( rough roads with long stretches between mail boxes )
- numerous parcels vs a lot less parcels
- foreign vs domestic
- what are other POV carriers using in your area?
