I got a note from Dottie (Miller) Nixon's husband Mike that Dottie had passed away in February. I found this online:

Dottie Marie Nixon, 70, of South Whitley, Ind., passed away at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2018 at her residence.
She was born July 19, 1947 in Indianapolis, Ind., the daughter of Robert and Laura Miller. On May 29, 1976, in Rochester, Ind., she married Michael J. Nixon and he survives.
Dottie was a graduate of Ben Davis High School, Indianapolis, and had a bachelor's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. She had worked as an accountant for many years at Fox Products in South Whitley. She attended Christ's Covenant Church in Winona Lake, Ind., for more than 30 years and had attended Cornerstone Grace Church in South Whitley. In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, playing golf with her husband and enjoyed finding that good bargain.
Survivors include her husband, Michael J. Nixon, of South Whitley; children, Tony (Stacey) Hausman, of Mooresville, Troy Hausman, of Lebanon, Jonathan Nixon, of South Whitley; four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanbrosfh.com.

YEAR-END REPORT

Just finished walking the treadmill at Planet Fitness for 35 minutes. For exactly the 250th time this year.

At 2.2 miles per session, I've walked about 550 miles. Which puts me just the other side of Minneapolis.

No wonder I'm so cold.

Don't blame Facebook, Sandra! The notes on our QuickTopic board pretty much dried up before Facebook became popular. I think we just kinda ran out of things to say.

Attendance at our Labor Day picnic has dropped like a rock, too.

EARN 4% RIGHT NOW!
The price of Forever stamps goes up Sunday, from 47 cents to 49 cents. You save over 4% on every Forever stamp you buy before Sunday! Even though I don't use a lot of stamps, I'm gonna buy a few rolls. Can't beat that interest rate!

A SOBERING THOUGHT

We, the class of 1965, have now lived longer than 19 of our presidents.

Including George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, both Roosevelts, Lyndon Johnson, John Kennedy, even William Henry Harrison, oldest man to be elected president until last month.

Somehow, that makes me feel like I have accomplished very little in my nearly 70 years.

Steve and I are Cubs fans also. From 2000 to 2007, we lived in Northwest Indiana and took advantage of the offer to buy four tickets a season to see the Cubs. When we weren't at the games we watched them on TV with the sound down and listened to Ron Santo on the radio. There is nothing like being at Wrigley Field when the Cubs win. Sure wish we could attend the WS.
Go Cubs!

Bob H. I came to the board to post the same as you did. Boy oh boy would Bob W. be dancing around the room! He sure did love the Cubs.
I was a fan also! Think I have related this story before, but I skipped school in senior year to go to Cubs game. My dad got so mad at me.... Not because I skipped school, but that I went to a Cubs game! I made it up to him and skipped another day to go a Reds game.

NEW HUGHES FAMILY MEMBER!

She's three months old, half dachshund and half chihuahua ("chiweenie"), and as yet without a name.

Her energy comes in furious spurts, then she collapses into unconsciousness until the next burst arrives.

She weighs a tad over two pounds, and will probably peak at five or six pounds.

And except for the housebreaking part, she's a total joy.
