Soooo, can I have a suit made with teflon-coated, artificial spider-silk threads treated with this stuff? I'd never have to change AND I'd be protected from bacteria.

I'd wonder how breathable this fabric is, though. All those lipid chains would make the fabric pretty hydrophobic and possibly water repellant. Also, would it kill any skin cells in was in contact with? Ouch.

The skin cells it will come in contact with are already dead.

Say, if you had an exposed cut or something. Or, if the fabric was in close contact with some *ahem* delicate areas, where the keratinized layer is very thin. What if you ingested/inhaled some dust from the fabric?

Isn't the damage done by asbestos dust due to its fibers acting like microscopic knives cutting into cells?
