His first blog, on media deregulation and its dangers (go Dean!), is here. Picture here.

This saddens me. So much of Lessig's work is legitimate concerning issues important to American citizens. It is too bad he is willing to sell the issues to politicians hoping to win votes from issues. I see Dean as being packaged as "new" but in all truth he represents the same tired, extreme, and dying politic of the liberal left. Partisanship should take a back seat to public interests. The only viable hope for proper copyright reforms, a reversal of the FCC rules that grow big media, and needed intervention in corporate reprisal against consumers (as in the RIAA's case), is for members of all parties to join together in agreement.
(Of course I was equally disheartened at the clearly partisan statement from the EFF about more people downloading filessahring software then voting for Bush.)

I have to admit, this struck me as a little strange, considering Dean blogs so very sparsely on his own official blog. Not that I'm really critiquing this; a campaign is more than just one man, and I've enjoyed following the ups and downs of Dean's campaign via Joe Trippi, Zephyr Teachout and the other staffers. But I do think that if Dean's going to be out catting around hither and thither in the Blogosphere, he ought to spend a little more quality blogtime at home, too. Addendum: Apparently the Lessig entries will be crossposted to Dean's official blog. Much better.

My guess is he'll build towards some policy proposals and try to court the professor's audience on a targeted set of issues. He stands a lot to gain by talking politics, though I'd generally stick to the politics of IP. If he wanted to do posts on more generic topics he already has a forum at BlogForAmerica, where some of the regulars are actually horked that he's posting to another site. The point of guesting on someone's blog is to bring your insight to their topic, you know?

He stands a lot to gain by bringing the geek vote into his camp, if only for the volunteers who could manage the databases and websites for his state and local offices... plus, it's been claimed that more people trade music online than voted for either Bush or Gore...

Don't you mean "some ghost writing Howard Dean staffer?"
Note that I would have that level of cynicism regardless of the candidate or party!
