Listen, this business of having to use a *form* to submit a site is bogus. It's too complicated, it takes too long, the form doesn't use any accessibility elements or attributes, and the admonition "if you don't feel like putting useful information in this field that actually describes the link and why it's interesting, don't bother submitting at all" is essentially a fuck-you, as is the posting to which I'm responding.
Forcing us to jump through hoops because BoingBoing's crack editors haven't figured out to make an alias like submissions@boingboing.net that is automatically redirected to the editors, or individual editors in rotation, is bad usability. It stinks.
If this alternative sounds just *too difficult*, note that the mailing list CHI-Web does it. Listserv software (the real thing) makes it possible.
Stop yelling at us for using the most convenient available method. Give us an equally-convenient method and we'll use that. In the interim, SUCK IT UP.
