Please don't ever, never, ever, never, ever send me blog suggestions by email.

Those double negatives are non non, non non heinous...

Never avoid refusing not to send link suggestions to Cory by any means except e-mail.

Blog performance art. It's what keeps me coming back to boingboing.

Simplifying....

Please don't ever, never, ever, never, ever send me blog suggestions by email.

Ahh. Okay (having done that in the distant past...)

(edited to fix html goof)

Wow. Umm. I can only guess that someone sent you an email with 50 suggestions for the blog and they were all actually links to TGP sites? Calm down, dammit, its only the web.

Cory - change the link that says 'Cory Doctorow' underneath each of your posts to point to a page on your site, ideally containing both contact details and BoingBoing story submission details. I bet that'll fix those pesky submitters, or a lot of 'em.

Makes sense to lose the 'Directory of Wonderful Things' tag
since the directory apparently disappeared this last January
to be replaced by the 'Best Blogs' bit in the sidebar. Not
that it seemed like the directory got much updating.

That's not fair (and you're sounding a bit unbalanced too).

Listen, this business of having to use a *form* to submit a site is bogus. It's too complicated, it takes too long, the form doesn't use any accessibility elements or attributes, and the admonition "if you don't feel like putting useful information in this field that actually describes the link and why it's interesting, don't bother submitting at all" is essentially a fuck-you, as is the posting to which I'm responding.

Forcing us to jump through hoops because BoingBoing's crack editors haven't figured out to make an alias like submissions@boingboing.net that is automatically redirected to the editors, or individual editors in rotation, is bad usability. It stinks.

If this alternative sounds just *too difficult*, note that the mailing list CHI-Web does it. Listserv software (the real thing) makes it possible.

Stop yelling at us for using the most convenient available method. Give us an equally-convenient method and we'll use that. In the interim, SUCK IT UP.

Um Joe? Ever hear of procmail? Ever hear of libwww-perl (LWP)?
If you really want to it by mail, you can build a mail filter
which takes your message and forwards it to a web form. Ain't
that tough.

Or if it is that tough, why not get bloxsom and make your own
blog to post your stuff?
