The Calgary Sun is poor excuse for fish wrap
(IMHO), but it certainly points towards any
new trends that even *hint* of threatening
the status quo. (I'm a Calgary resident,
so I keep tabs on the FUD of the week.)

The Sun is tabloid-sized, and aimed squarely
at the stereotypical Calgarian.

I propose a "null" chalk symbol, for those
expressing solidarity with "cutting edge
cyber-criminals". (I've always wanted to
carry a ziplock baggie full of sidewalk
markers.)

On second thought, someone should consider
marking the front sidewalks of major oil and gas
companies with the Viridian Disaster Symbol (sm):

In the context of The Calgary Sun, the article's tone
isn't too far off the editorial course.

If the link doesn't work, try:

It's got the crazed extrapolation of an Ed Anger piece, but what it's missing is the "I'm so pig-biting mad" turns of phrase that make Mr. Anger's polemic pure comedy gold.

Don't be silly, xradiographer. The weight and anti-weight of the zeros and ones cancel out.

Be greatful, the article could have been worse: it left out hippies going blind by staring into the sun after ingesting LSD, techno-fans stomping pigeons, anti-globalisation protesters all being black-masked window-smashing anarchists, how MP3s are killing the music industry, and the likelihood that most warchalkers have accidentally baked a baby in the oven thinking it was a turkey. (oh, yeah: and IBM's new data-storage center is sinking into the ground becuase they forgot to calculate the weight of all those zeros and ones.)

We should've been expecting this... they are just peeing their pants with glee at the chance to use "hobo" and "hacker" in the same story, though it required an amazing stretch of the imagination to throw in "terrorist" and "vagabond".

Geez, this almost sounds like something written by Ed Anger.

You should write to the letter page editor, too.

Setting a particular author straight may or may not result in a retraction.
