"blurbs by fifteen people"
Fifteen?
Oh, I see, it's in octal.
Well, until you ditched Gillmore, so I guess it's whatever base 7 is.

Forgive me, Stefan! I'm coming down with a cold and so running a fever. I keep making typos and brainos today.

Been there, done that; I missed a trip to the Bay Area last weekend to get over a cold. FYI, Cory, your EFF speech in Austin was plugged on Steve Jackson Games' site: http://www.sjgames.com.

Hey Cory. I'm curious if pre-ordering does anything for you as an author. I don't think I've ever pre-ordered something in my life as I've never seen the need. Do you get more royalties or something? If a zillion people pre-order it, then only a handful purchase it in the first few weeks after it gets published, is it still a bestseller? Just wondering...

Having more pre-orders means a bigger print-run, which means that if the book gets to doing well, there won't be a lag when the first edition sells out.
Also, the advance orders on this book will likely determine the size of the advance I get on my next novel (which I'll be negotiating before the first quarter's figures are in).

"Customers who shopped for this item also shopped for these items: Essential Blogging by Shelley Powers, et al Starlight 3 by Patrick Nielsen Hayden (Editor) The Weblog Handbook by Rebecca Blood We Blog by Paul Bausch, et al Let's Roll by Lisa Beamer, Ken Abraham (Contributor) "
Okay, the first four make perfect sense, but what's up with the last one?

Stefan - I don't know about the sparkling and fizzing, but if Bruce says Cory is backflipping and breaking furniture, that just proves he knows Cory.

Note to self: Reinforce furniture with carbon fiber & resin if Cory ever visits Portland.

I am just getting over "the cold". My preferred treatments:
1. zicam zinc nose gel 2. echinacea 3. chewable vitamin c 4. nyquil gel caps at night 5. Coke 6. Sometimes cold-eeze zinc lozenges
The above tend to reduce the severity and lenght. Unless your a smoker, then fuggedaboutit.

I've been hacking my lungs out for the last two weeks. I'm willing to try anything, even Coke (shudder).
