It's so interesting to see some other bloggers detailing their preparation and expedition to Antarctic. Thanks Richard!

One blog that I have recently come across is:

http://www.teachingexpertise.com/blog/teachingonice

It's tracking Phil Avery's progress.

I'd just like to say as a former USAP Sado-masicistic victim, There's a lot more blogs out there, like to point out a few more blogs to see from antarctica...

This one is still in antarctica...

Normally, I putter for a little while when checking out someone else's blog, but this one is chockablock full of good stuff, and I expect to devote quite some time to it. Exceptionally well written and funny, too.

For a great read about Scotts expedition, I recommend this book:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...87-9085458?v=glance

I just received it as a birthday present yesterday, and am now almost half way through it. A great book about one of the youngest people on Scotts expedition to Antarctica, and his experiences.

i just passed this along to a cousin of mine from NZ who spent 6 months in antarctica studying fish. (the kind of fish with natural anti-freeze in their blood.)

i can't wait to hear his comments relating to the stuff on the site. it's totally riveting.

Ernie, consider that Dec 29th was their "grab your ankles
and Get Fisted day" celebration (the 30th was "Lubrication
Day"), perhaps lurching sex has to do with frozen lubrication
and trying to get free.

(I quote from the "Ask an Artarctican" page.)

I completely lost track of time reading that site. Thanks, Cory and Melvis!
