I'd make a joke about the Wonder Bread ninja, but I'm not sure if that stuff actually has grain in it. More a kind of foam with a polished brown exterior.

We made a little shrine fashioned of bacon and steak for Dr Atkins in our office. Rest in Pizza.

I'm with Cory -- I'm sure the carbohydrate lobby, a.k.a. The Coalition of the Filling, was behind this!

Will, it's true, you're just mis-interpreting the cravings.
When you crave the ice cream and sweets, your body is actually craving FRUITS, which used to be the only source of sweet stuff until we learned to process sugar. Since Ice Cream is NOT a source of the vitamins found in fruits, your body will start craving them again soon after. Eat an apple, then wait, and if you are STILL craving Ice Cream, then have some. Odds are the craving will have passed.

P.S. To Quinn:
Unfortunately, cannibalism has been shown to cause serious medical problems for most people.

So, you spend all this time avoiding carbs and eating well and losing weight and being super-fit and just end up cracking your head on an icy spot on the ground. Why bother?

I wonder if the problem of high protein intake relieving the body of calcium had anything to do with the severity of his injury, or if it was dumb luck? I can imagine too much protein, brittle bones and some ice = a heap of irony.

I'm 32, 6'4" tall. My target was 7lbs-10lbs a month, but the first month it really dropped off like crazy.

mrm, au contraire. The cause of death was a subdural hematoma -- where the blood vessels are torn as the result of the brain hitting the inside of the hard skull. It wasn't a skull fracture, which is what I think you're suggesting.
